You earn XP by just playing quickplay or competitive versus, horde or escape. But if you want to solely grind reup XP the fastest method is the Lethal Engagements first kill farm method. To do this,
1. Start a custom escape match on Lethal Engagements on MASTER difficulty.
2. Sneak up behind the first drone and knife him. You should get the FIRST ribbon.
3. Once the ribbon disappears, pause the game and select RESTART ACT. The screen will start to fade and eventually go black.
4. As soon as it goes black, pause again and select RETURN TO LOBBY.
Rinse and repeat this process and you will get around 1750 XP for each attempt (if you do not have any boost) but if you do this during the limited time XP events that occur, you can earn around 7000 XP per attempt which will help you rank up really fast.

If you get like a big boost like 500% you can get a re-up in about 1.5hrs if you are at RE 45 so at like 55+ it should give or take 3hrs doing this method with a large xp boost, also for the future people should focus on Xp rather then CXP during xp events as youll need to play 100s of hours of horde/escape anyways for other achievements and if I didn't xp boost ill have all classes at 20 before re 46
