If you only care about leveling up quickly your best bet imho is to get good at Marksman. The headshot kill bonus is substantial and grants a lot of xp very quickly. (This method will not get you class xp or cards for other classes though.)
Currently, I am working on my Real Gear 50 ReUp achievement. I've maxed all my classes so I no longer care about class xp, just getting ReUps. This is the fastest method that I've found. Getting Executions also gives you an xp boost, but executions take longer because of the animations (chainshaw kills, meatshields and retro lancer charges apparently don't give you the bonus) and expose you to more danger. Using the Marksman and his ult to level is still the best method I've found.
(Another thing I forgot to mention: the XP boosts you get from playing with allies. The game really encourages you to develop long term relationships with other players. The longer you play with them the bigger the boost you get.)
For example this morning I just got done playing Marksman on master horde Blood Drive. I joined about wave 15 it so. I gained ten levels from 41 to 51, getting about 60 hatrick ribbons. (Note: the Coalition added a permanent 3x xp booster for everyone with the last operation. That makes things easier.)
This method takes a while to perfect because you need good cards and some experience at how to use them properly.

No class is as good at headshots because of marksman's unsurpassed critical hit bonuses but other classes can be used as well.
Anchor is good for getting headshots and is more forgiving and beginner friendly but remember that bleed kills do not count as headshot kills and won't get you the bonus. You need to get that extra headshot in there to kill them and get the bonus before the bleed finishes them. Veterans can also be used if you max the Headshot Master and custom lancer cards; the Retro Lancer, Lancer GL and the Longshot can be used with Living Legend to level quickly.
If you have a friend you can also use the Veteran and Marksman's ults together to get the Marksman many headshots.
Playing with allies also gives you an xp boost.
