The Operation 4 update canceled Scrap & replaced it with another currency (Gears Coins) to purchase items from the store.

To get this achievement you need to acquire (using Gears Coins or Iron) any 3 different characters skins that are not related to a launch character.

Any skin of the following characters WILL NOT COUNT since these are the launch characters:

COG:
1- JD
2- Marcus
3- Kait
4- Del
5- Fahz
6- Jack
7- Mac
8- Lahni
9- Keegan

Swarm:
1- Swarm Drone
2- Swarm Grenadier
3- Swarm Hunter
4- Swarm Sniper
5- Swarm Imago
6- Scion
7- The Speaker

* Some people may get this achievement after buying only 1 or 2 skins, or not buying any skin at all.

how do you get scrap to craft with?

You don't need to unlock the characters, just buying the 3 totems in the shop unlocked this achievement.

You get scrap from duplicate items (weapon skins, banners, expressions, etc...) given in supply drops. Just play Versus, Horde or Escape to get more supply drops, 100 scrap should be easy to get.

Please clarify in the solution that by 'buy any 3 characters' you mean craft their totem/card. I wouldn't have known that without the comment saying that.

I think new players get scrap automatically? I've only played one multiplayer game and I had 600 scrap. Totems/card cost 100 each.

That's not what I meant. I'm saying you can immediately buy them with iron from the store without having to do the challenges. Because there are two ways to unlock the characters either by purchasing or earning them. I've edited the solution to become more clear.

Ah right, I didn't have any of that currency to buy them that way and assumed it was a premium, paid for currency.

And 'buy the totems' isn't the method said below, it says buy the totems and complete the 30K XP challenge too. That's wasted time if people do the characters one at a time.

You don't have have to buy the characters, nor do you have to do their requirements. You just need to craft 3 totems, which cost 300 crafting, not iron.

I logged into the game today for the 1st time for Operation 4 and this achievement unlocked without me doing anything. I"ve barely played the game and only have done a handful of multiplayer.

I'm trying to figure out how there are three to collect to pop the achievement, and my progress towards it is currently 94% How is that measured? Surely it's 33, 66, pop?

Please add a warning to your solution. This achievement unlocks as soon as the game loads for the very first time.

Anyone who doesn't want this game or this DLC on their Gamertag should be extra careful that their profile isn't logged in when the game loads.
