How to unlock the Legendary Operator achievement in Gears 5 - Definitive Guide

Hey Gears! First off, this is retroactive so if you reached legend 25 of any operation prior you will unlock this achievement upon logging in.
If you haven’t done so prior then you will need to reach General Rank (686 stars) in an operation to unlock the legend tier after word. The best way to earn stars is by doing your daily active tour objectives, and remember you can reroll one of them for free every day (rerolling after that costs a little bit of iron).
Another good way to earn stars is by the “Tour Medals,” which can be found by pressing
and selecting the tour medals. Completing these often rewards a lot of stars. (**Boost does not double tour of duty stars**)
Once you hit the General Rank you will then earn a “legend” level for every 12 earned stars (as well as 750 gears coins).
*Kurio did some quick math and estimated that you need to earn approximately 100 stars per week. Also, if you have boost that will double your stats from daily challenges (but not the ones from tour of duty medals).*
*High Voltage in the comments also reminded me that you also get stars for simply time played (about 1 star per 30 minutes). While this isn’t an efficient way to get stars for your tour of duty, every little bit helps!*

For reference, getting to General put me at 68%. If my math is right, each Legend should be about 1.28%, so you’ll see 1% each tier and an additional 1% every 4th.

It should still be obtainable after Operation 8 ends as the Tour of Duty will continue to refresh. In fact, it will be significantly easier to get to General rank than now since they said they'll decrease the stars needed to rank up in Tour of Duty + increase the stars gained from daily objectives by 1.
This means it will take a total of 490 stars to get to General instead of the usual 686 stars from the next season onwards.

I finished this during Week 7. Here are some tips:
1. Do every single daily challenge + your free reroll challenge.
2. You get free Iron as you progress Battle Pass. SAVE YOUR IRON FOR "FREE BOOST WEEKENDS". Boost Weekends double your stars and this is the perfect time to buy more daily challenges with the Iron you earn during the season battle pass.
3. Play the Weekly Events in the multiplayer matchmaking. Each event has 4 challenges to comples and usually awards 4-5 stars per challenge.
4. You get access to 4 daily challenges. The first 3 challenges can be done in Private Multiplayer Matches so you can always knock them out in Arcade Team Deathmatch in private. The last challenge must be done in Horde or Escape.

No, seasons will recycle after this last Operation. It's currently too late to complete Operation 8, you'll have to wait for the old Operation to start over again.
