How to unlock the Nothin' But Bits! achievement in Gears 5 - Definitive Guide
This wont be for everyone but with capture the flag added to custom games, this by far the fastest way if you have 2 xboxes or a boosting partner. If you go solo with 2 boxes and 4 dummies you can net 2200 kills an hour, or with a boosting partner going for assists. Spawns do not swap, so you can go till you get tired. Have all dummies on opposite team and switch lancer with gnasher for ammo. This method cuts time in half for 100k kills. Personally I haven't had issues with idling out even after an hour. Around 2 hour mark is when your dummies may idle out. If you experience frame rate dropping end the round by picking up the flag and it will resolve itself

With some of the updated features. You can use the swap all weapons option to Hammer of Dawn only. Play on Mercy. Use burst fire on the hammer to kill all 4 dummys, once you have done this the front dummy will drop a hammer for ammo. Stand in this spot and slightly adjust you aim (to avoid killing yourself in the shot). Doing this you literally do not need to move. Video here shows it in action. playing

Easy way to get kills and assist towards your "Nothin but bits and Covering fire" achievements on solo or two if you want assists against bots.
Setup: Custom Versus- Arcade Deathmatch
Bots on. Rounds 20. Score 75. Respawn 5.
Map: River.
Character for kills: Cole.
Character for assist: Mac.
Go to the structure directly in front of you when you start. Kill one enemy on the steps inside or in the doorway (if playing with another person) and cause a chain reaction of fire to kill the rest. Once enough enemies are killed you'll have points to spend on Boomshots, making this whole thing easier. The person going for assist should be buying and throwing shocks in the fire that the killer is making. Never take cover and don't let enemies see you or it slows down the whole process.
20 rounds will net around 1,500 kills or assist in less than an hour and a half, with each round taking 4:00 to 4:30 minutes.

Reacting to the recent patch that TC has released, I come to offer you a new solution I found to boost your kills. By following my strategy, you will make 85 to 100 kills per round, depending on your own speed performance with the Longshot.
Before continuing, please note that this solution is designed for one player only and requires three controllers.
Set up a Custom, Private Versus match with the following settings :
Map: Asylum
Game Mode: Guardian
Fill with Bots: Off
Rounds to Win: 6 (well, as many as you want)
Respawn Time: 5 (minimum)
Spawn Protection: 0
DBNO time: 1
Weapon Respawns - After Pick Up
Weapon Substitutions: Everything must be changed to Longshot
The game clip is below. Feel free to post comments if you have any question, english is not my native language but I'll do my best to answer you. Also, don't hesitate to let me know what could be improved in this solution.

Thank you @Master Irishman
@StockierHeart Well seen ! but you can't do it solo, unless to have a second console or a boosting partner ^^ If you have a game clip to illustrate it would be nice !

Just increasing the tip of Voracity N, I made a video showing step by step.
In this method you can do it yourself, without the need for extra control or any friend ... just by killing bots

This is going to be one of, if not the, longest achievements in the game to acquire. I'll throw out some pointers for obtaining it in the most efficient manner possible while also keeping the 50,000 Assists achievement in mind. First off this will take months to complete and with The Coalition still giving out achievements with nearly every update I'd finish this achievement the same way you'd eat an elephant, one bite at a time. Don't burn yourself out because when new achievements come out in year two you will likely need to do some versus to obtain some and they will count toward this achievement.
Private matches count toward kills, but they don't count toward your daily objectives. So with that in mind I'd do Versus>Custom>Online Game>Host Private if you don't need Tour of Duty objectives. If you do need them then get them done in COOP vs AI and go to Private ASAP.
Map - Checkout
King of the Hill
-Bot Difficulty - Beginner (they are still really aggressive in beginner)
-Rounds to Win, as many as you can stomach at one time but I'd keep it to 5 which will put you around 45 minutes to an hour to complete. This will keep reloading times to a minimum.
-Round Score Limit - 270
-Execution Rules - Off
-Respawn Time - 5 This will keep your enemies constantly respawning and you as well for minimum downtime
-DBNO - 15 this allows your friendlies enough time to kill downed enemies if you are going for assists
-Friendly Fire - Off
-Weapon Respawns - After Use
-Gameplay Tuning - Assists Enabled (but this is really just your preference)
You should get 25-50+ kills/assists (eliminations) per round depending on your skill and RNG. Don't bother going for captures but also try to stay near the ring because that's where the enemies will gravitate to. As you progress further along in the achievement you need to be comparing your percentages for assists and kills. If you have a difference of more than 5% between the two I'd start concentrating on the lesser of the two. Use a Lancer if you need more assists and a Gnasher if you need more kills. The AI friendlies are usually more than willing to clean up your kills. I would use the Lancer primarily while trying to stay with your allies. This will keep your kills and assists percentage pretty close to one another. Pick up Lancer rounds when you can. It's surprising how fast you can run out when your allies are taking all of the punishment and all you are doing is firing.
Good luck with one of the longest achievements you will ever complete if you finish this.

Disclaimer: This was heavily inspired by gagreflex CEW's solution with some minor modifications (go like his guide too), This is a much more lazy method than spinning with a shotgun.
Hi all, this is probably the fastest (48 hours) and least amount of work way if you have the following:
5 controllers total, at least 2 Xboxes.
Method:
Game type: capture the flag
Fill with bots : off
Map: Speyer, clocktower, or dawn b/c the spawns are close
Spawn protection : 0
Respawning time: 5
Swap all weapons: Markza MKII
Headshot explosion: Grenade
Bullet Penetration: All precision (or markza MKII)
Put all 4 dummies on the swarm team and you are on the cog. Run over to the other side as soon as the match starts. Once you get over there, aim through the left column of swarm to get at least two headshots, the explosion will kill the rest. When I hit 5 bullets left I could just pick them up where I was standing. At a thousand kills (15-20 mins roughly) you should claim the flag start the round. At 2000 kills you should claim the flag so that the dummies don't disconnect and make you have to set the lobby up again (They would still crash after a couple hours for me). This took roughly 50 hours to complete but 4 dummies if you want to be most efficient.
Thank you to Andrew and every single person who posted any information about this achievement for helping me and all the other people that have posted their tips and tricks.
You can also apply a similar method when going for covering fire but with retros, go check out my guide for that if you need it and a video.

For 22.08.2021 (Operation 8) the fastest method is described by @Gagreflex CEW, but thanks to his guide i found some other usefull method - very slow, but you can leave your console (well, max. for 30 minutes).
Approximate stats - one kill per 8 seconds, 450 per hour (270k damage points per hour)
Requirements - One console and two controllers, one rubber or sth that block RB button on controller
Versus -> Custom Online -> Host Private
Game Mode - Capture the flag
Map - any
Mode Options(non mentioned will be default and that's okay):
Fill with bots - OFF
Spawn protection - 0
Respawn time - 5 (minimum)
Your account in one team and dummy profile on 2nd team. You need to select GNASHER AS FIRST WEAPON FOR YOU DUMMY(on left slot).
Note: You can also block your lobby by pressing LT -> X and select Invite Only, this will prevent anyone to interrupt your grind.
When everything is done, start the match and go to opposite respawn, launch the lancer's saw, block RB button (ex. by rubber) and walk to your dummy.
Warning - every private versus mode got protection from long idling, so any account that didn't MOVE for 30 minutes will be kick to menu. Also if your main profile stand on dummy's respawn place, it will respawn on other one until it place will go free.
As I mentioned - this is very long method for kills and damage, but could be practical ex. for work in home, occupied TV or grinding other game at the same time.
I will be glad if you 'll test it and maybe you 'll find some solution for that kicks. Good luck with that game (you definately need it!).

This method should allow you to get 350+ kills in 8-10 minutes solo
Lock all 3 of your slots, it should be a 1v4
Map: Gridlock
Game Mode: Capture The Flag
Round Time: 10 Minutes
Flag Capture Time: 10
Flag Spawn Delay: 30
Spawn Protection: 0
Respawn Time: 5
Swap All Weapons: Relic Retro Lancer (This gun fires RL-4 Salvo rounds allowing to kill enemies even if you can't see them)
Best way I found to get the enemies at their spawn was to wait at my spawn, kill all 4 and run to the Boardwalk, Kill all 4 again (Some might run to the left and try kill you) and then rush to their spawn, spawn trapping them. There should be a small collection of guns piling up which should keep you good on ammo.
Make sure not to go too forward or they'll kill you, stay by the curved wall near the wrecked car. If you do end up dying and can't push them back then you might need to restart.
