If you do Inconceivable difficulty before Insane, as it’s the next difficultly level up does this meet the Insane requirement for Seriously Part 1? Or do we actually need to do Insane despite already doing the highest difficulty?

I am on 94% and all the Horde and Escape maps have the flaming skull to signify they have been mastered. Many Horde maps I joined late and in-progress.

I’m wondering if I might have joined one in-progress that was already part way into Wave 50, and this might be an issue?

All Horde and Escape characters are well above 15. I have not levelled the ‘Promotional’ characters at all as I presume they are not required.

Im at 97% and i believe the last i need are master horde maps, as everything is checked besides vasgar right now. Split between horde and horde frenzy. I think i need the check mark on vasgar. Solution really needs an update.

Update: vasgar was the last 3% i needed. I was at 91% for a while and then i completed exhibit, bunker and vasgar in horde frenzy. Achievement popped after restarting app.

And on the topic of level of character @Voracity N i put (assumed) for a reason... until there's actual proof of what is necessary there's no point throwing down your random thoughts on the topic.

@Ex GHOSTface thanks for that info, the fact the achievement doesn't state "Get each character to Level 15" still leaves room for more achievement progress but chances are Level 15 counts as "Master" but until that's confirmed i'm not gonna change it yet

This is a work in progress you piece of garbage the maps were updated before you even commented... Comments are meant for people to help build this guide. Your character level comment was only part right, you can still unlock things up to Level 18, also I never mentioned once that you don't know anything, that's putting words in my mouth. My approach was very negative?? I asked people (not specifically you) some questions that would help clarify the stipulations of this achievement. The only negative thing I said was that the guide is shoddy and that was because you were completely dismissing a guy who brought in a third party source simply for the source not being directly from the Devs. Like I said, before you edited it, you said the last skill card unlock is at 18. The last skill card unlock for all chracters is Level 16 not 18. You implied because I don't have the achievement that I can't talk about it. Again, the last skill card unlock is at level 16. You're so infuriated at a single sentence you can't even think coherently. Yes I was putting the idea out there, not stating it as fact. Also my point about reaching level 15 was my inquiry and yes it was proven right. First off they (The Coalition) play the game too, so any "glitch" will get found by them if they can get found by any random kid who can use the internet. The only thing posting it like this accomplishes is that THIS COMMUNITY can ALL benefit instead of just the "special" ones who "secretly know about it" smh.

Second, this lasted FOR MONTHS!!! I had people attacking me off the start saying what I was doing would "get it patched immediately" along with other childish insults... Where are they all now?? Posting it online has NOTHING to do with how fast something gets patched, seriously do you think game devs never play their own game or look at certain information such as how many people are at Re-Up 20 which would take a lifetime to complete legit, or even just looking at people sitting in the same server for hours. Someone on here confirmed with octus on Twitter that you only need to do the 7 new maps on horde master, not the old gears 4 maps. And I don’t think you need to do the hunters escape map as it wasn’t a launch one.

what i know is Campaign gives u 40 percent on seriously chapter 1 Tracker General cheevo Nothing reup 20 a possible 10 percent on the Tracker Horde plus Escape combined 50 percent

insane gives you 49%. so those percentages are off lol

It's also been confirmed @bradleafsfan9 that your ToD rank does reset at the end of operation. it's just like a "battle pass" in other games

SO i have a question for the horde one. what are the seven maps? and if you disconnect in between a round do you have to start over? this is my first gears seriously achievment that im gunning for so i dont know any of the maps or how it works

You have to do 50 consecutive waves on the 7 maps listed in the solution. They're all listed under the Horde requirements in this solution.

@Voracity N have you looked at the character unlocks? The last thing you unlock for each character is at character level 18. Just because there is an achievement tied to level 15 doesn't mean thats what you need to "Master" a character

Yeah I'm non sure level 18 of characters count for achievement

I can confirm that I received 1% on my Seriously achievement after reaching level 15 with Mac on Escape. I am not sure if hitting level 18 would give more progress, but getting to 15 definitely progressed my achievement.

You’re solution is good but I was hoping for you to add more information on how to beat the launch maps on master difficulty, like what characters are good for using, what skill cards are useful and also where’s the best spot to put the fabricator in horde. As for escape maps what are the strategies for surviving? Since towards the end of the hive you get overrun by so many enemies it’s ridiculous.

FYI you can just load up wave 50 on each map on master and complete it to consider master beaten. Just find a good spot on the map and hold up with barriers and sentries and hope you don't get a matriarch.

@ ol ALEXKING lo, I think his reasoning would be that this guide would be way too lengthy and wordy if he included all the strats for beating everything on Master. There are achievements for doing those things anyway, so it's best to just check the individual guides for them.

No you don't. You get 3% for each completed map. And I Just played Wave 50.

4 the 7 Horde Maps the Checkbox 4 Master runs means Nothing on the Tracker a friend completed 1 or 2 Maps after cheesing the Horde 50 wave final round on all 7 Maps ,the Master Horde run 1to 50 on that Maps didnt give him Tracker Progress ,only important Maybe if reup 20 Fails to unlock seriously you must go back to Horde and get really the nike Symbol on the square for a master run 1to 50

You dont get the 7/12 without playing the whole map. I had to redo asylum because I only did wave 50.

This is purely speculation here, but does it make sense that we only have to reach General in one tour of duty? I get that the rank will reset at the end of the tour, but will we lose achievement progress? That seems extra harsh on TC’s part

and if your "Re-Up" 12 you probably know how to grind EXP already and like I said go to the REUP 20 cheev for info on how to level faster

Only wave 50 still works. Restart your game afterward and you can see that your achievement tracker has progressed though the box for mastering the map (under stats-horde) is not ticked.

In the corner invisible and you can keep dying with other accounts and the person who is jack can pause and invite you bk in the match so have someone be kait and use her special to kill 2 to 3 locasts at a time oh and make sure you load the game to get the swarmak and once you pop its spots it dies cause its like the other bosses have infinity health ✌️😎

OK my group did wave 50 on ASYLUM, after we did weave 50 on master i will check and its says on max difficult did MASTER but MASTERED not, i did what xLGNxWKD MAN say, i restarted my game and my seriously 5 up 3% but the think is, it will really count? because i did 3 maps of scape on master and inmediatly after we did on the stats its says HIVES MASTERES 3/X.

The idle reup method is to search 'The Surge' online and get to the first checkpoint. Once you reach the checkpoint you can afk and keep dying to the poison and you get constant xp.

The fastest way to gain experience is to play escape on the Hive on master difficulty. You kill one enemy and come back to the lobby. You get about 1600 exp(with double exp and bonuses) for it. One match with all loading screens take around 2m 40s (on my xbox one x) or 1m 50s (on my laptop).

Since someone spilled beans.

Load up hive on inconceivable, make sure it is public game so either weekly or past hive, currently surge is best.

Get to safe room and just sit there, u get class xp, re up xp, and supply drops for time played. If u doing with randoms u may want to troll them to leave so game doesn’t end. I average 50-60 levels a night.

You play public games so even if other 2 ppl leave game doesn’t quit and it won’t pause.

I also wanted to note that calling his actions 'pathetic' is as bad as someone calling your guide 'shoddy'. You both are doing what you think is best.

Now only if we could find an idle method for horde characters, or a way to also get cards while idle.

I can confirm that do round 50 work still me and group did them all last night we all got 19 % more on the seriously 5.0 achievements if that helps anyone 👍

The idle method is nice but after about re-up 12 or 13 it's just not worth it(talking about 1 or so hours just for one level at this point). I believe re-up 16 is considered the half way point exp wise also. Someone already posted the fasted method a few comments up and I believe that will get patched before the idle method maybe.

Any idle xp is worth it. Going to sleep and waking up 10 levels later is still 10 levels u didn’t do anything for

I reached level 15 with Mac and Lahni and my Seriously 5.0 progress did not budge. I’m not so sure level 15 is mastering.

I'm wary of idle boosting seeing as how they banned people who boosted in ranked games in Gears 4.
edit: One idea I have to idle boost Horde character xp would be to use gaming sessions where people play for a set number of hours where one player idles that match. Players take turns idling matches so as not to play the full amount. Similar to weapon boosting in Gears 3.

@PRmykey327 you forget what website your on? This is for sharing info... He's not the one and only person who found and knows of the method. This will have no effect on how quick it gets patched, something like this gets patched no matter what. As a community its best to let the info out for everyone to take advantage of instead of keeping it secret for the few people who feel "special" for knowing about it early.

Pop the spots on him he dies and cannot regenerate but i am on exzibit and he has not appeared on that level so if anyone wants to team up let me know because the bosses regenerate and i cant beat em lol

Just a tip for the Gauntlet on Master. If you use Keegan’s card which boosts the ammo re supply in the venom, it will recharge salvo ammo as well... This is helpful when using explosive bleed damage too obviously. If you can even make it to extraction carrying 2 salvo’s and do one last re supply in the venom right before the exit after clearing the last hallway it should be in the bag. Finding this made the Gauntlet almost cake for us if you have good rng and a half decent Mac.

RE: Master difficulty on Wave 50 - that although the 'box' is not checked, the achievement tracker does increase. More noteably, your stats on www.gears5.com will show completion on that particular map, as well, in the game you will notice the fire on the icon's middle for having finished master.

@BradLeafsFan9 - I understand and I agree. Sometimes fear is what limits us. If we fear losing something that the community could benefit from, and do not share it, it hurts more than we know. Thanks for reminding me of this.

ALthough one method may be patched quicker, the more people who share, the more we will have. And the quicker this grind from Dante's Hell will be.

Idle EXP Trick still works after the most recent update, the only change is you must keep a controller plugged in and use a rubber band on both toggles to cause your character to constantly spin around...avoiding being kicked for being idle :)

Kind of annoying that they have achievements that even with idle boosting it still takes days worth of game time. Achievements should be about skill not how much free time you have.

For anyone still needing general or interested in the desert JD skin, you can now load up a custom horde match on wave 50 and deposit the 56k power it gives you into the fabricator to count towards the collect 1 mill power in horde medal. Just rinse and repeat until the medal is complete.

I have a charging cable around the sticks and a bumper while also a keyboard on two buttons. I was able to keep myself in the lobby for over an hour, so it probably won't kick me. I also started the lobby with 2 extra controllers so I did not disturb anybody else - these can be kicked by the host AFTER you reach the saferoom - else the session can time out.

I'm looking for people to do master escape on decent that wont quit after a few attempts. The claws are just a bitch at the end

Tuesday night I idled and it worked all night but my two friends got booted repeatedly. My controller even disconnected. Last night we attempted it again and one friend stayed in for at least two hours while I rubber banded both sticks and plugged in. I kept getting booted. The game may just have a preference toward one of the three players and not kick that one.

Yeah i've found the same. bunch of us spinning and it always kicks 2\3 of us. Just keep trying until your the 'lucky one'

Is anyone able to help me with master horde wave 50 on some maps. Beat bunker already.

Tried the idle thing for over 12 hours and I wasn't kicked but when i finally got tired of trying to beat it I gave up. I only gained about 10 levels and no character xp. didn't get kicked but definitely not work the time to get nothing now.

@IloveTEST400: I certainly hope not as well. Seeing as how the achievement is glitched and MadMassacre still hasn't unlocked it despite meeting all requirements then I wouldn't be surprised.

I didnt get any progress after beating the escapes mention in this solution. Is the tracker broken, or is it due to the fact they added a hive named past hive. Do we gotta do the hive and the last hive now

Yes I did all the maps on master and the past hive on master as well. I can confirm that the escape maps aren't registering towards the progress bar.

So, Today is 20/10/2019 01:15 (GMT-3) and the Escape XP exploit is working.
I don't know why but took me 12 kicked from servers and shit until it works.
And that's beutiful.

What is your sensitivity setting on ? Mine is default and also I turn off vibration. I am using the rock candy controllers from Walmart with no issues.

Can someone explain to me why my controller is plugged in but still shuts off after about 15 minutes? I have the sticks rubber banded as well as L trigger forced in by bracing against items.

I think I was getting kicked because of server lag. Turned it on one day to find the black screen and then my character stopped moving. So either server lag issues or the band was not tight enough. Will have to try again some time. thanks for tips

I just completed a hive map on master and my tracker moved 2-3%. This happen for anyone else in the last day or so?

@DRAGONKZ Which map? Was it your first map on master? I think it gives progress for the first time but then not for any other map.

I was waiting to see what the new Hive was like too. One guy said he did the Wanderer. If your having troubles getting to the saferoom you could always lower the difficulty a bit. You would make less XP once you get there obvs but it would still bring in a decent amount i bet

I played the event of Mad man's monster on master in Asylum and my progress didn't move however I've already completed horde on master in Asylum before so I guess it counts for the achievement if you haven't completed the map, not the event by itself.

You don't get credit for Mastering a Horde map by only completing the last wave. It has to show that you finished the map as Mastered.

Looks like it was additional master escapes not increasing the %. My tracker just jumped 3% for every master escape I had done that had not caused it to move before the title update!

Just a side note here, but for idling in Escape on Inconceivable you can earn character exp if you can kill an enemy (the more the better). I've tested it already with Keegan & Lahni, both of them where lv. 12 when I started and after 1 session they both gain 2 levels at least. As far as time wise for idling it was 5+ hours at least for both characters.

Just joined a game of horde on Icebound & did the last 7 waves on master but even after a restart my completion percentage on Seriously 5.0 never went up. Can anybody confirm if the latest patch has changed the fact you used to be able to just do the last wave and get credit towards the achievement?

It’s not patched just keep doing wave 50 on master and quit the app till it moves your tracker up.

Thanks for replying everybody. Today i hosted my own game of horde on Icebound & just did the last wave & my percentage went up by 2% after restarting the console so it seems hosting the last wave still works.

They changed a little bit. before it was 1% for each escape map.

Now it is:
3% for each escape map
3% for each Horde map
1% for reaching re-up 20

Don't believe you have to. I was at 91% before the update, jumped me to 94% after it, then I did descent the other day and it jumped to 97% so just need to somehow finish Gauntlet on master and I should have it :)

So multiple people have reported getting the CROIX Error message while idle boosting ? It means suspension so can anyone confirm if idle boosting is still ok to do ?

I don’t get it I mastered a horde map but it only moved me up 1% ? I even checked my stats and it shows that I mastered it. I also rebooted the game to see if it would move up but nope it stayed the same.

As of Nov 17, the new method for XP on Escape doesn't work any more. When you die you're thrown to the menu with the option to restart act.

If they really did patch idle xp boosting, here is method I used to get 4x more xp than idling to get my seriously (with boost of course).

Load up the Mines on Master. Open the pod, leave the beginning room and then melee a juvie/reject. Once they are dead, you will get the "First" ribbon. You can then pause and press return to lobby. Once you load out, you will have gotten around 1650 xp (825 xp if you don't have boost). The whole process takes about 3 minutes between loading in, breaking out of the pod, killing the enemy and loading out.

At 3 minutes per 1650 xp, you are netting around 33000 xp per hour. In the later reups that probably 2-5 levels and hour.

Funny Ace mentioned that method. I just started that myself and can confirm his numbers. To add to it, if you have any dummy accounts with ally XP bonus, you can bring them along and add some more XP to your total.

EDIT: I think he meant to say “The Mines” instead of gauntlet. That’s where the juvies/rejects spawn.

That's incredibly naive to be honest. The bigger studios have dozens of ways they implement cheat / glitch detection and part of those checklist also include actively monitoring the community. Everything from social media to forums. And within that they most certainly include the biggest community of achievement hunters as if there's an exploit there's no doubt this community will know about it.

Would they have found it anyway? Possibly.

Will posting it online have helped keep it under the radar? Absolutely not.

Posting boosting methods is ok mostly, but for TC games not so much, it’s their first priority to patch it, before even fixing their servers. For them it’s all about the store and microtransactions. Without boosting methods they sell more boost.

I just made it to Re-up 20 and my seriously 5.0 progression hasn't changed at all. It's supposed to increase by 1% isn't it? Looks like I'm screwed then. It was 86% before I got Re-up 20 and it's still 86% now.

Ebon, try restating your game. Sometimes the tracker doesn't go up while the game is running. This has worked for people I know who had the same issue

I just did a few runs on the surge on master killing 1 or 2 Juvies in 1/2 melees I'm getting 1720-1790 XP (with boost) a run. I run out, take cover in the middle path, shoot a juvie and 3 run toward you, quickly head a bit back to regen a bit of health, kill the 2 in 1 or 2 melees I basically spam B, die, then return to lobby. This is being done with Lahni at level 18, level 5 melee damage card. same time (3 mins) as doing the mines.
Sometimes I'd only get 1, but it really didn't affect anything.

Theaaronlad. Killing more than 1 enemy isnt the best use of your time. The first enemy you kill in master horde gives you the "first" ribbon and the enemy is worth like 1200 xp with boost. Any enemies you kill after that are only worth like 50 extra xp at most. It's more time efficient to just kill one enemy and back out. The time spent loading out to start the next match us more valuable than the extra 50 xp. Also on the mines the enemies spawn closer to the safe room and the only enemies at the beginning are juvies and reject meaning getting 1 kill is extremely quick.

If you can get em at the same time I'd say thats worth

re-up 20 is literally 1% on the tracker it doesn't track after 15, hitting 20 gives the last 1% a guy in my ally group is on 99%.

This achievement is a mess, my % hasn't gone up at all since i hit re-up 11. For over a week my xbox said i was only at 54%, the Xbox app said it was 57% & Trueachievements says it's at 58%.

I did gauntlet on master and the counter moved 2% instead of 3% as mentioned above in the comments. Maybe the changed it again or something glitched out.

@Absohail. Was gauntlet your last map? For me, I just completed “the hive” which was my last map, and my tracker only went up 2% as well.

For you guys saying tge escape maps on master is only causing your tracker to go up by 2 percent. Each escape and horde map give you 2.5 percent. The achievement tracker doesnt show you your current percentage.

If you are at an even percentage like 50%, then your tracker will only go up to 52.5% which will display as "52%" in the achievement tracker. If you are at 52.5% and beat a map it will go up to 55%, which looks like you went up 3%, cause the achievement tracker goes from 52% to 55%. But you still only went up 2.5%. Basically every 2 maps you beat should be 5% total.

Just a heads up there is a better method for XP for ReUps. You can do the exact same method of Escape killing one enemy. Do it on Inconceivable instead. Kill the first enemy, pause and hit restart act. Your screen will fade to black. Pause again and hit return to lobby. Grants around 3k XP per run which is almost 2x better than the current Master method.

I can confirm that the inconceivable method mentioned by @slayer Reigning works and is a lot better. The whole run takes around 2mins and 40 seconds which includes loading in and backing out. You get 2920 xp with boost for 1 run. This roughly equates to 1100xp per minute which will be 66000xp for doing this for 1 hour. Without boost you get 1460 per run which is a lot better than 825xp for the master method as it takes roughly the same time.

@Puff CJ Yes it seems to be only 1% since I have done everything except for 20 reups and my tracker is at 99%.

The percentage completion for this achievement is so confusing & none of these numbers are adding up.

I've completed:
Every launch horde map on master
Every launch escape map on master
Every launch character above level 15
General in tour

And my achievement tracker is saying 57% complete while trueachievements is saying 58%. I've only got the campaign on insane (which apparently is worth 40%) & re up 20 (which is worth 1%) left to do but when you add all of that up it only comes to 98% on my xbox & 99% according to the tracker on this site.

Can anybody make any sense of that?

@Blowfish, it will have something to do with decimals (xbox only shows integers), so don't worry too much, you'll be fine.

I've completed all the requirements and my progress is stuck on 97%. The only things I can think of are that I need to get General again after I already got it in Operation 1 or I need to do the Horde maps again. My stats show that I've done them all on Master though so I don't know what to do. Anyone else been stuck at 97% after completing everything?

Yeah that seems to be the case. You have to be General rank after completing all the other requirements. I already got to General in Operation 1 but it hasn’t counted for Seriously 5.0. The medals in Operation 2 seem to require significantly more grinding than the medals in Operation 1 did. I already got to General and got the achievement for it. Getting it once should have been enough. It’s kinda ruined the game for me honestly.

My escape maps are all showing as done on Master. Also I was watching the tracker and it went up after each escape map. All the horde launch maps show as done on Master also. If it’s a horde map that hasn’t counted then I’m still screwed because the barrier glitch got patched.

just load wave 50 and find a good spot to camp in each map... get 4 other competent guys or even 3 others. high level JD with razor hail will make it so much easier than you'd think.

@luigimaster1178 Best thing to do right now is to redo horde and hive on Master to see if one did not track properly. Check stats too, it may be useless but you might just have to redo Master until one tracks correctly.

i suggest if you tried cheesing the campaign redo it solo on the highest difficulty. that will clear it up if campaign was the issue

Here’s how I did mine
Escape Characters: Surge on Expert/Insane
Horde Characters: 41-50 Inconceivable Exhibit
Horde Maps: Wave 50
Escape Maps: maybe a Keagan was powerful enough to throw 20+ grenades
General: Operation 1
Campaign: Split screen, main as Jack on Insane.
XP: The Mines for 100 hours.

So just thought I’d point this out, idk if it’s consistent but feel free to try. I tried the other escape method. I ran a private solo escape match on The Surge on advanced difficulty to test it out. After about 45 mins, I was able to gain roughly 1800exp, roughly 3600exp with the boost. The ONLY problem I had was I had to manually restart the act myself. So I’m thinking that maybe with a turbo controller, you can idle again? Idk, just something to fool around with. If anyone else tries it, let me know how it works out for you. Like I said, idk how consistent it is as I only tried it once, but as far as I’m concerned, it may be another way.

From what I hear from my friend, the Mines is still good for XP. I did that while watching Naruto, playing a game on my 360, and even boosted a friend while in return he would do some games for me as he is busy with work and all that. Not my proudest moment but I am glad Seriously 5.0 Chapter 1 is done.

XP in Escape and Horde just got heavily nerfed today. With Boost, playing on Inconceivable and getting the First! ribbon then quitting out, I used to get 2900+ XP per run. Now it's 800 or so. Fuck TC.

Finished a master escape run on surge ~600 before boost. TC is going to make the little player base they have left quit. Nice job driving the game off a cliff the moment your studio head jumps ship TC.

Every one stuck at last 3% should be one horde map not registed, this time you need to redo all 7 horde maps to check which one did not registed, you just need to start at 46 or even 49 wave.after victory, reboot the hole game,then check the progress bar.

Is mastering escape maps easy?

Once you get the map feeling and the right characters with the right cards, yes.
Also they changed the launch hives so its easier than before.

I mastered them with randoms with zero communication, by either searching for them when they came up or by joining or hosting a custom lobby. Having a high level character with good level cards was essential for some of them though.

You should interpret this as “once you git gud, yes”. Which is true about anything.

I need some help, I currently mastered every horde map. I did my last map which was vasgar but with this map I joined it through a custom game filled with randoms and the wave they were on was 41. I don’t know if that’s why my tracker didn’t move up? I quit out and restarted the game and nothing. I also thought that maybe the following day it would move up but nothing. I really don’t want to redo this map again...

I did wave 50 on Asylum and Training Grounds last night and neither increased my percentage.

I'm on 85% but still need to master 3 out of 4 escape maps. I can't figure out if that maths works.

Edit: literally just this second went up to 90% 12 hours later. Think I'm good. And can confirm I suppose that just wave 50 works

Playing horde frenzy also works if you want a quicker game, and imo, easier as well.

Does forde frenzy actually work? I completed all 12 waves on master and my progress bar did not move.

Sitting at 97%, I only need Icebound, Horde Frenzy did not work for me. Only doing wave 50 did not work for me. So I will grind through all 50 waves (hopefully).

Stuck at 94% and done everything required, pretty damn annoyed tbh.

All I need left for this one is getting to re-up 20 and mastering the below horde launch maps:
- Asylum
- Bunker
- District
- Exhibit
- Icebound
- Training Grounds
- Vasgar

Check your stats...in the menu, maybe there you can check which maps you have registered as “finished”

Word of advice for Horde you HAVE to finish map start to finish in a game for it to count towards progression just thought I'd add incase people think just joining a game near the end counts. Starting on wave 50 counts as a "full game" too if I'm not mistaken.

I just did a master horde 1-50 and my progress bar didn't move at all. I was in the whole time and hadn't previously done it. Hope I don't have to do it again...

Sometimes it takes a while to show. I've sometimes had to close the game down completely and start it up again to see it move. Sometimes it taken a bit longer than that aswell.

Just make a note of the map you tried and if you struggle later maybe try that one again and also check your stats in the in-game tracker

Went from RE-up 19 to Re-up 35 because of todays update, no Achievement

Looking to do master horde wave 50 trick. I just need icebound to get this achievement but willing to help anyone.

Mine hasn't popped either, I did everything prior to the re-up xp changes last week except re-up 20 (I was at 19) and in fact when I was re-up 18 and 19 my progress bar didn't budge from 94% but it seemed to move 3% each time I re-upped before then as if to say each re-up counted as 3%
I know I've done everything else needed so I'm at a loss of what's going on

What is the purpose of The Hive - Past Hive? Does it count as The Hive? Because it look like I master this one but not The Hive. I know it’s the exact same hive.

does doing only the wave 50 on master no longer counting? I've done 3 Maps but the progress is stuck and my stats just show highest difficult master but the map its not mastered

joined Vasgar on ~20th wave on Master, finished the map - progress haven't moved a bit. Restarting game and console didn't help

My slider went up beating a couple maps on Frenzy. Didn't happen right away, but I left, came back & saw it went up.

Just unlocked this today. Just want to confirm a few things:

-Completing Horde 1-50 and/or Horde Frenzy both count towards the achievement
-Joining a game part way in (eg. Wave 43) DOES NOT COUNT
-STARTING a game at wave 50 DOES COUNT
-After every map completed, completely shut down and restart the game. For some reason the percentage doesn’t increase until you do this. So after restarting double check your percentage has increased

Source: I completed only wave 50 on Icebound and Frenzy on Asylum. I completed Asylum twice from partway in and it didn’t count

I’m after this amongst others I know I’m late to the party add me love playing gears happy to grind

This achievement took a few days to drop for me, but it did eventually. I want to note that in my in game Gears 5 Stats Vasgar is not listed in my "mastered maps", even though I have the achievement and it is a launch map that you need to master. The in game tracker and the achievement tracker are different.

@Foerl definitely not these days with the XP bonuses and strategies for completion. I am only missing Insane campaign and got to this point in probably 40-50 focused hours of play.

This is wrong on the gears site for the hoard and escape part you just need to get the achievments for them to do this part of it

@FalseVincent can you be more specific. Your not helping anyone with that comment. This is a work in progress for a reason, were gathering info as a community. Your approach is wrong

Why would the Master character stipulations not be based on the achievements? The achievements state level 15 and in Gears 4 Seriously tied into achievements. Also unlike what the solution says, the last skill card unlock is for Level 16 not 18.
Also how do you know the private match only maps (Dam, Forge, Foundation) aren't needed for this achievement?
For the the Master Horde part can't you just complete the last wave on Master to count it as completed? It works like that for the Horde complete medals.

Gears5.com u see all ur Progress it must say 4/4 for Escape Master runs and eventually 7/12 on Horde Master runs

I want to let you all know I’ve officially received no progress towards Seriously 5.0 for getting any of launch Escape characters past level 15. I had a percentage increase from all three characters up to level 15 but not level 16.

@BradLeafsFan9 have you had any issues with disconnecting from the server in the middle of idle boosting? Last night after about 2 hours it disconnected from the server(it’s the 1st time it happened). Just wondering if it’s a fluke or not!

@thepack1221 yes! it happened to me too. Whenever the game needs an update it will automatically boot you. I can confirm that I still got enough XP to get to Lv 100 (25k needed) when I loaded the game back up I expected to still be Lv 93. The odd time the server will bug out but most of the time it works and in the event of an update you will "back out" of the lobby automatically...therefore getting that experience banked still w/o doing it yourself. Hope that lil essay helped lol

Yeah, true but I wish I could wake up and even get 10 levels at this point lol. This is 100% worth it until those re-ups though for sure. Hopefully they do a double exp weekend for re-up exp and this method is still around lol.

According to tweets and the dev stream TC Octus said you need to hit 18 with all the characters horde/escape(launch characters excluding halo/sarah). Now I hit 18 with every character and my % didn't go up so the achievement is pretty screwed at this point. Also someone already has all the requirements for seriously and the achievement didn't pop. They tweeted Octus and all he asked was is he playing on PC. He still hasn't got back to him after he replied back. He might have an answer tomorrow who knows.

Yeah today I got kicked for being idle, so it seems they patched the idle escape method... Got to love that the Coalition will patch anything that helps people, but seriously over powered and un fun things are left in...

WTF? do i have to get general again if i didnt manage to hit seriously in operation 1?

I have two questions:

1. For mastering all horde maps while doing the jack method, does it matter which level you’re characters are? For example I’m currently level 7 with JD would it be doable to beat it?

2. For mastering the 4 escape launch maps, which characters are the absolute best in order to escape? I currently maxed out Lahni and Mac except Keegan. I currently have most of my skills at level 4 and some at level 5.

1. I would recommend having a decent team and putting up red barriers (these need to be level 3) currently they still work but can't break. So a pretty effective way.
There are quite a few people who are interested in beating these horde maps on master so if you put your custom game on visible with a name like "Wave 50 Master run" then you will get a quite good team together. Level 7 JD is probably too weak.

2. A high level Keegan and Sahar makes Mines a breeze as they have explosive damage like crazy combined with bleed (as you still can do the nade glitch on there) Taking ammo crate to get flash pick up 2 nades switch with flash nade boom 7 nades for keegan.
For descent I can recomend Mac, Lahni and Keegan - the classic trio as you will need all different abilities to survivie the three episodes.
The Hive is a combination of Mac with keegan and Lahni or the new character who apparently can stun might be effective.
The gauntlet I have yet to beat but if you scroll up you will find some input there.

I believe it’s at least 16. I’m level 15 with a couple horde characters, and my progress did not go up at all. I’m level 16 with all 3 escape characters, but didn’t see any progress from that either. In the developer stream that somebody posted earlier in the comments, I think they said “level 15 or 16”, as if they don’t know themselves lol! I could be remembering it wrong though.

You don't have to kill an enemy to get character XP. Someone in the youtube comments mentioned that you just have to run out to get killed by an enemy in the first run and then do it again on your last run after AFK'ing (before you turn it off) and you'll get the character XP. I don't know if there is a difference in XP if you kill, but my Keegan went up from level 8 (maybe 9?) to level 14 in two seven hour sessions after doing this.

@dmbldore were you in a custom game? If so, that’s why you had to manually restart. You have to choose one of the three current “past hives” or the current week’s hive.

You people really have to be delusional if you think posting a boosting method on a site that >10% of xbox gamers use somehow means that the methods are only being patched because of this specific solution.

The boosting methods will be patched regardless of the status or thoroughness of this solution. The point us to make these methods known so people can take advantage of them before they inevitably get patched.

For example, the main reason The Coalition found out about idle boosting is because idiots were going into public inconceivable matches and standing still, ruining the experience for the other 2 people. When instead they could have plugged in extra controllers or had their friends fill a public lobby and then quit. Those people who had their experience ruined by idlers then complained about the idlers and The Coalition looked into why it was happening. Nothing to do with this solution.

yeah I already figured that out, but the fact I could kill 2 in basically 1 hit then quit, gave me an extra 100 XP or so, in the same time. even 1 kill would give me more XP, it's weird.

^Yeah just Reup 20 level 1. But not that it matters because there is 50 Reups the game. It’s inevitable that sometime down the line TC will have an achievement for getting something higher like Reup 25 but let’s hope not.

there's a 50/50 chance TC kinda pussy out with it all and just do 21 (which is still an insane amount of XP with the scaling and distribution of XP in this game) similar to 4 with re-up 10 then wings 1 (re-up 11) but I think the best shout is re-up 25, Level 18 characters, probably something to do with mastering Operation 3's hives and new maps and campaign on Master. 130 days of boost is £16.50, which is pretty good in my opinion and it sucks that this game forces me to think that way, that's an average of 2 hours a day for 75ish days from re-up 15 level 55 to re-up 20 level 1. but I'm gonna be smart and wait just over a week maybe even 2-3 weeks and spend my money so it rolls over for a solid 2 months in Operation 3 in mid March, which should be when new achievements come out. 130 days is a little over 4 months and 1 week, so that's my reasoning.

you're doing it wrong, you press pause when the screen fades to black FULLY after pressing restart act, so it goes kill > pause > press restart act > fading to black > hit pause the second your screen goes fully black > press return to lobby > profit.

Just a quick note about the master escape completions. If anyone joins the game late, late enough that they start with an Ultimate, then this run will not count towards the seriously achievement tracker for that specific player!

There's a few nice little advantages you can get by starting with an ultimate, but bare in mind it wont count. You'll see it as completed in the game stats, but you'll be missing 2/3% on the tracker.

If you join early enough that you spawn in a starting pod, you'll be fine. This early enables you to run two of the same character and will not affect the achievement tracking.

Okay, it was an Xbox One achievement visual glitch. Compare the game with another to see if it updated to the server than your achievement tracker. SERIOUSLYYYYYY I’M COMING FORRRRRR UUUUUU

Here’s how I did mine
Escape Characters: Surge on Expert/Insane
Horde Characters: 41-50 Inconceivable Exhibit
Horde Maps: Wave 50
Escape Maps: maybe a Keagan was powerful enough to throw 20+ grenades
General: Operation 1
Campaign: Split screen, main as Jack on Insane.
XP: The Mines for 100 hours.

I completed every horde master map doing only wave 50 with this method: One person host and play Jack with a second person playing Kate. Jack will hide in the corner and Kate will leave and rejoin after every death. Every time you load in, Kate will have her ultimate cloak ability. Cloak and then run around to get as many executions with her knife as possible. When Kate goes down, leave and rejoin the host. I found that the carrier boss is the easiest to kill at the end so have the host reset the lobby until you have that boss making sure everyone donates their power to the fabricator before the wave starts. Once the boss is the only one left, have the second person playing Kate switch to Del. Then buy 3-4 maxed sentry turrets to setup facing each other as far apart as possible in a circle around the spawn area of each map. You can then lure the boss into the middle of the turrets and then run in between them as Del refilling the turret ammo. The constant damage from the turrets will prevent the carrier from regening health and will eventually kill it. Make sure to move away from a turret before the boss gets close so he doesn't slam the ground and destroy the turrets.

@Jakey X Infiltrator, Mechanic, Demolition, Veteran, Marksman, Jack, Tactician, Blademaster, Anchor. These would be the classes you need at 15.

I was stuck at 97% for the past few months, ready to give it up, replayed all escape maps, did the horde maps, then looked at my campaign stats in game yesterday. Turns out even though I had the insane completion achievement, it didn't register on the last act on both single player and coop, so I played that last act on insane Yesterday and woop even before the credits, achievement popped! I looked for all the other signs people mentioned like flame behind the skull on the horde and escape maps etc so there are signs on what is registered, it's just poor we have to work them out to see what didn't track!

Jingle juvies DOES work for chapter 1 too.
Doing only the last wave works fine, considering you are in the lobby from the start, but progress tracker will update only after restarting the game.
No need to restart the game after each map, all maps can be done in one sitting, restart the game after that, progress updates after fully logging in the game.

@BradLeafsFan9 or anyone else, can someone please provide some clarity on this achievement?

This guide is slightly outdated and muddled now due to an update a year or so back.

The issue is that the guide here references Horde characters for example and levelling them to 15. The update split characters away from their class, so if I am going for Seriously at the moment, I kind of have to guess what class JD, Kait, Del, etc. would have been.

I assume (hope) the achievement is still obtainable.

Can confirm, jingle Juvies DOES count towards seriously chapter 1, it DOES count for seriously chapter 2, AND the Master Horde and Escape maps from operation 4 (haven't tried an operation 2 or 3 map yet)

Edit: I finally received my progress for Jingle Juvies, so it does count for all achievements requiring Horde Mastery so far

Please help me reach 5.0. Passed all the escape cards on the master and passed the horde 1-50: Asylum, Bunker, District, Exhibit, Icebound, Training Grounds, Vasgar. All characters are level 20. Completed the single game on insanity, but didn't get the achievement. What could be and what I missed. Thanks in advance.
