If you have a friend who you can play co-op with this makes this achievement and all the other difficulty achievements in Gears of War 2, a LOT easier. Mostly because the secondary player can play on casual difficulty and rip through the enemies while you sit back and relax in a far a way corner.

Artist of War - 75G - Complete all campaign acts on Hardcore Difficulty
This speaks for itself really, go through all the chapters in the act to complete it then in the very last cutscene you will unlock the achievement, I would also reccomend doing it with a friend as that person can play the campaign on Casual and kill most of the enemies for you, this helps especially good for things like the Locust Fish as it is 10x easier for your friend to do it on Casual, If you do play it in Co-Op you should breeze through it, its not impossible to do it by yourself but some parts involving big enemies reavers, corpsers, even boomers can take too much ammo to kill by yourself, but if you do it buy yourself, every weapon try your very best to aim for the head, it takes less shots that way and preserves ammo, also use the chainsaw that solves a lot of ammo problems :).
If you havn't already completed the campaign on Casual, Normal or played the campaign with a friend you will get these achievements as well. I will list the 3 achievements below:
Campaign Difficulty Achievements:
The Guerilla Tactician achievement in Gears of War 2 worth 65 pointsComplete all campaign acts on Normal Difficulty
The Tourist of Duty achievement in Gears of War 2 worth 29 pointsComplete all campaign acts on Casual Difficulty
Co-Op Achievement:
The Friends with Benefits achievement in Gears of War 2 worth 86 pointsComplete all acts in Co-op on any difficulty (Marcus or Dom)
You will also unlock various other achievements along the way for Co-Op, story progression, killing enemies with certain weapons and also you will unlock 'Insane Difficulty' for doing this but if you havn't finished the game at all, you cannot complete it on the hardest difficulty the first time around, This should be pointed out.

If you finish the game on Insane difficulty the you get both the "Artist of war" and the "Suicide Missionary" achievements and unlock a unique gamer picture.
So once you finish the game on Casual once and you unlock the Insane difficulty you only need to finish the game once more to get both Hardcore and Insane achievements.
It did work for me and I don't think this it was a glitch as it worked for a friend as well.
PS: I finished the Insane story mode on my own so I cannot confirm or deny if it this is actually the case if you do it "Co-operatively".

I have to add (for the negative voters) that my solution superceeds the other one as it was written before them. But they incorporate my solution to theirs and they get +ve votes and i get -ves. Unfair!

All of the "Complete all campaign acts on _____ Difficulty" achievements stack meaning if you go on the difficulty it says to go on or a higher difficulty you will receive this achievement along with the other achievement/achievements. So, Just complete all acts on "Hardcore" Difficulty or Insane Difficulty. This can be done In single player mode or Co-op mode.
