How to unlock the Crossed Swords achievement in Gears of War 2 - Definitive Guide

To enter a chainsaw duel you need to attempt to chainsaw someone front on who also has a lancer equipped when you do this you will enter the duel then just rapidly tap the B button. Repeat 9 more times.

A good way to do this is in a private match 1 on 1 vs. a second controller or a friend.

I made a 2 player King of the Hill match (with me using 2nd controller) on Pavilion.
Just go to the other players spawn point and face him and use the saw.
After he's dead run to the end of the stairs and wait for respawn. It seems over half the time they will
respawn in exactly the same spot and you don't have to hunt them down. If they don't respawn there then
they just respawned in your respawn spot and you just run there and use the same technique.

IdanST - it's super easy to activate a second controller! It tells you on the menu screen to press start to sign in a guest once you turn on your second controller.

An easy way to get this achievement is to load up ACT 3: Chapter 3. If you progress through the level to the part where you first encounter razor hail and board the first train, the locust in the train will always chainsaw battle you! After you kill this locust, LOAD CHECKPOINT for an easy rinse and repeat!

I had six of ten before starting this method and got the four done in ten minutes!

This seems like a much slower and more tedious way to get it than the other guides methods that were posted quite some time before yours. Not down voting you - just pointing that out.

this way works w/o a second controller or boosting partner. Thought I'd share another way that worked for me but wasn't mentioned!

I always look for solutions that can be done without relying on other people or hardware, so this was the one I tried, and I thank you for posting it.
I did have trouble getting it to work though, until I figured out you need to rev your chainsaw the instant you board the train car. then it worked.

Worked perfectly! A rip from when I tried, you’ll have to make sure that you get to the train before the locust can start shooting you, and mantle up closer to the left side of the entry way. After it really was a rinse and repeat!

set up a private match with all bots off and invite 1 friend. put 10 rounds. now both of you have to have the lancer equipped and reving the chainsaw (hold B) while walking towards each other. when you enter the dual rapidly tap B. have your friend let you win 10 times and the achievement is yours.

If you're like me; with one controller and the Guitar hero guitar, you can easily get this one in the local game. Just plug in the guitar in the main menu, log in as a guest and then start 1 on 1 warzone.

Locate and approach the other player, then hit the red button on the guitar and B on your normal controller, once the battle begins just leave the guitar and keep tapping B on the controller. Rinse and repeat 10 times.

Apparently this is also doable with GH drums or any other special controller with the color buttons.

Chainsaw duels is when two opponents use their Lancers to fight a duel by holding cn_B, then the game asks you to press cn_B several times and whoever hits more wins and kills the enemy, the best way is to do this with a friend or offline on the split-screen.
