How to unlock the Shock and Awe achievement in Gears of War 2 - Definitive Guide

This is easiest achieved at the end of the first Act. You basically use your mortar to defend your position, (easiest way to explain the situation without any type of spoiler), kill all the enemies and then allow yourself to die.

Repeat until successful

If you are horrible with the mortar like i am, the easiest way I found to get this was loading up Local Execution with a second controller turned on and loading up the map River and just grabbing the mortar on the bridge going over the river in the middle of the map and venturing over to the second controller and killing him. Then repeat until the achievement unlocks. Hope this helps!

Start up a horde on security and then get the lasers deactivated and go to the mortor and make sure its on wave 8 and up and make sure the lasers are activated after u get the mortor. Then
rack up the kills for the achivement.

Just kill 30 enemies using Mortar, for that you can accumulate during the entire campaign and if you don't succeed at the end of it, you can customize a match against bots and put Mortar in all locations on the map.
