How to unlock the Seriously 3.0 achievement in Gears of War 3 - Definitive Guide
You do not need to have participated in the beta or be Lv100 in Gears 2 to earn this achievement.
Not all of the numbers from the official strategy are confirmed to be true. Please shout out if you find an error or if there are is any information you want to provide.
NickHawkeye made a spreadsheet to keep track easier, feel free to use it: Click here.
In total there are 65 onyx medals you need to earn in order to unlock the Seriously 3.0 achievement, you will also need to rank up to LV100 but that will most likely come automatically while going for the onyx medals (I'm Rank 59 and have only unlocked 2 onyx medals so far.). See my video for campaign boosting for a great way to earn XP. The medals have tiers, kind of like challenges in Halo: Reach, it goes bronze > silver > gold > onyx.
The information about every medal will look something like this:
NAME OF THE MEDAL
DESCRIPTION ( BRONZE / SILVER / GOLD / ONYX )
EXPLANATION/SOLUTION
------
VERSUS MEDALS
Every versus medal can be earned in private matches with custom settings VS casual bots or friends, I recommend you to set the number of bots to "Fill" if you're going to play the matches otherwise you will not be able to earn any of the important ribbons. However, if you are afk playing, it helps to put the bots at 1 or 2 cause you will still earn progress to most of the medals.
Also remember that you can choose what weapons will spawn on what place, if you're going for fire kills for example, set everything to hammer of dawns or scorchers.
VENGEFUL
Execute (10/20/50/100) nemeses.
A nemesis is an enemy who killed you 5 times in a row without you killing him in the same match.
I don't have a super good method for this, I have been using 2 controllers and killed myself with the 2nd controller 5 times then executed the 2nd controller.
CAPTOR
Kill (50/200/500/1000) enemies with a captive.
Press X while standing next to a downed enemy to take them as captive, you can only use melee and your pistol like this. You can knock out a great deal of these while going for leader captures.
WAR SUPPORTER
Play in (5/10/20/30) Gears events.
Weird medal, been reported to unlock in private matches with different settings. The correct way to earn it is to play online during 30 different Gears Events, to check what events are coming up, go to the "Event Calendar" option in the main menu.
MVP
Earn (5/25/100/500) MVP ribbons.
You get the MVP ribbon by finishing a match with the most points. If you plan on playing vs bots, this will come way way way before you finish the 18,000 matches you need to play. Must be done with bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
FIELD SERVICE
Reach Level (25/50/75/100).
You gain EXP from pretty much everything in Gears 3. You get the most points out of playing Ranked Matches, however expect your opponents to be more skilled than in quick match. If you don't turn off your console you never lose your consecutive bonus either.
VETERAN
Play (100/500/2000/4000) matches.
Create a private match of Execution or Warzone, set it to 1 minute and fill it with bots. Make sure your controller doesn't go inactive by using a wired one or a battery charger cable. If you don't have any cables you can pull out your battery pack during the countdown screen before the matches begin. Go sleep or go to school/work and when you come back you'll have tons of matches played.
MATCH WINNER
Win (50/250/1000/3000) matches.
Same as "VETERAN" except you can play the matches yourself if you really want to win every one of them. You can also plug in a 2nd controller for the other team to even out the odds.
HEADSHOT
Get (100/500/2000/4000) headshots.
You can score headshots with most single-fire weapons. Easiest for me is to down someone, then fire 2 rounds in their head with the snub pistol.
HEAVY WEAPONS
Get (100/500/2000/6000) heavy weapon kills.
One-shot, Mulcher and Mortar counts as heavy weapons.
EXPLOSIVES
Get (100/500/2000/6000) explosive kills.
Grenades, Boomshot, Torque Bow and Digger counts as explosives.
FINISHER
Get (100/500/2000/6000) executions.
You execute someone who is downed by pressing Y or X (meat shield) while standing next to them, chainsaw-kills and bayonet-charges also counts as executions and stack with kills for that weapon.
SKUNKER
Skunk enemy team (25/100/500/2500) times.
Win without letting the enemy team win a single round, cannot be won in 1 round matches. Recommend you to go for these while going for "Sovereign" and "Leader" medals or if you want them done as quick as possible, Warzone set to 2 rounds will be best. Must be done with bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
LEADER
Earn (10/50/150/300) Untouchable ribbons.
You get the untouchable ribbon by finishing a round of CTL as leader without letting the enemy capture you at all. There is a trick to make you leader every round, you need to have 2 controllers and a dummy profile. Make your dummy profile the main player by pressing start with the 2nd controller at the "PRESS START"-screen, this will make your dummy profile the main player and you the secondary player. Start a match of CTL with rounds to win at 1 and cap time at 10, the key here is to put both you and your dummy profile on the same team vs 5 bots. The first match you start will have the dummy as a leader but every match after that you will be the leader! Must be done with bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
ABDUCTOR
Capture (25/100/250/500) enemy leaders.
Earned in CTL by grabbing the other teams leader for as long as it takes to win the round. Must be done with bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
ASSISTANT
Get (125/500/2000/5000) assists in Versus multiplayer.
Damage an enemy and let a teammate get the kill. Will surely come by itself if you plan to play in real matches online, if not, wait till you knocked out all the kill medals, then play KOTH or CTL with insane bots, find a place with a good view of the map and just spot and spray with your lancer, letting the bots do the killing.
MEDIC
Revive (50/250/600/1200) squadmates.
Press X while standing next to a downed teammate. These will most likely come while going for all the other medals, just revive whenever you have the chance. If you really want to knock these out fast, play CTL with bots and turn friendly fire on. Keep hitting/shooting your leader till he goes down, then revive him, rinse and repeat.
COVER
Earn (10/50/200/600) Buttoned Up ribbons.
You earn the Buttoned Up ribbon by spending the most time in cover in a match, using a meat shield will also count as cover. If you have a turbo controller you can get these while you let your game sit by putting something heavy on the a button. You'll get this medal every match this way. Must be done with bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
ACTIVE RELOADER
(500/2500/10000/25000) perfect active reloads.
Will most likely come naturally while going for kills, otherwise, the snub pistol is the fastest gun to reload, master it and spam reloads.
LANCER
Get (100/500/2000/6000) Lancer kills.
Chainsaw kills counts as well.
HAMMERBURST
Get (100/500/2000/6000) Hammerburst kills.
RETRO LANCER
Get (100/500/2000/6000) Retro Lancer kills.
Retro charge kills counts as well.
GNASHER SHOTGUN
Get (100/500/2000/6000) Gnasher Shotgun kills.
SAWED-OFF SHOTGUN
Get (100/500/2000/6000) Sawed-off Shotgun kills.
PISTOLS
Get (100/500/2000/6000) pistol kills.
Snub, Gorgon and Boltok are the pistols. Try to pick up a meat shield so you can work on "CAPTOR" at the same time.
SPOTTER
Spot (250/1000/5000/12000) enemies.
Aim at an enemy and press your left stick will spot them. Try to do this as often as you can while working on Rifle kills etc.
PYRO
Kill (50/300/1000/3000) enemies with fire.
Scorcher, Hammer of Dawn and Incendiary grenades are the fire-based weapons.
SAPPER
Destroy (10/50/200/1000) enemy grenades.
Shoot a grenade that is tagged to a wall or to the floor by an enemy. Easy, but tedious, to boost with a 2nd controller, just tag the smoke grenade you start with and shoot it with your main profile. You can also team up with a buddy for it, ViiETx made a video for that. Click here to watch the video.
GUARDIAN
Rescue (50/250/600/1200) leaders in CTL.
Make an enemy release your leader by throwing a smoke grenade at him/her or kill/down him/her. Chances are these won't come naturally, then you can put yourself and a casual bot on one team, a second controller on the other team. Put the bleedout to 5. Make it so the bot is the leader by finishing the first round (if he's not leader from the beginning.) then you just have to keep capturing him with your second controller and rescue him with your main profile. You can team up with a buddy to replace the bot if you want this to go smoother.
CTL
Play (100/300/1000/3000) CTL matches.
Same as VETERAN, except you can't set a time limit but set the capture time to 10 seconds. If you're going to idle play you can plug in a 2nd controller and set the number of bots to 1, make it so it's you and the bot vs the 2nd player. This will end the matches swiftly and you'll always win thanks to the bot on your team.
KOTH
Play (100/300/1000/3000) KOTH matches.
Same as VETERAN, except you can't set a time limit but set the ring score to 60. If you're going to idle play you can plug in a 2nd controller and set the number of bots to 1, make it so it's you and the bot vs the 2nd player. This will end the matches swiftly and you'll always win thanks to the bot on your team.
WARZONE
Play (100/300/1000/3000) Warzone matches.
Same as VETERAN. I always fill these with bots and maybe even put the time limit at 2 to earn as many "Last Man Out" ribbons, you need 3000 of these for the "HARD TARGET" medal.
EXECUTION
Play (100/300/1000/3000) Execution matches.
Same as VETERAN. I always fill these with bots and maybe even put the time limit at 2 to earn as many "Last Man Out" ribbons, you need 3000 of these for the "HARD TARGET" medal.
TDM
Play (100/300/1000/3000) TDM matches.
Same as VETERAN, except you can't set a time limit but set the stock to 10. I always fill these with bots and maybe even put the time limit at 2 to earn as many "Last Man Out" ribbons, you need 3000 of these for the "HARD TARGET" medal.
WINGMAN
Play (100/300/1000/3000) Wingman matches.
Best method is to use 2 controllers, put them on one team, make the amounts of bots 2 so it will be a 2v2 match. Set the time limit to 2 (For those really big maps like sandbar) and disable all weapon pick ups. The bots will rush and kill you almost right away for some reason, ending the match in 4 rounds.
ALLFATHERS
(Bronze/Silver/Gold/Onyx) Medal in all game modes.
MASTER-AT-ARMS
(Bronze/Silver/Gold/Onyx) Medal with all 5 starting weapons.
RIFLEMAN
(Bronze/Silver/Gold/Onyx) Medal with all 3 starting rifles.
HARD TARGET
Earn (100/300/1000/3000) Last Man Out ribbons.
Be the last person on your team to die, cannot be obtained in KOTH, Wingman or CTL. You'll knock out a great deal of these while afk-playing TDM/Execution/Warzone. If you still need more, turn on friendly fire and play private Warzone games vs bots. As soon as the spawn protection is over, kill all your team mates with the Gnasher and you'll earn a Last man out ribbon. Finish the match by suiciding or just kill everyone on the opposing team. Must be done with bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
SHOCK TROOPER
Earn (100/300/1000/3000) First Blood ribbons.
Score the first kill of the round, can be earned in horde and beast as well but only once per session, not every wave. Must be done with bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
OLD SCHOOLER
Curb stomp (50/250/1000/3000) enemies.
Press Y (don't hold) next to a downed enemy to execute them with a curb stomp. Stacks with "Finisher" medal.
BATTLE MISTRESS
Play as a female in (25/100/500/1000) matches.
The female characters are Sam, Anya, Civilian Anya (COG) and Myrrah (Locust). See VETERAN for quick method.
SOVEREIGN
Win (25/100/250/500) CTL rounds as leader.
Almost the same as untouchable, except you can get picked up, you get credit as long as your team wins the round.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Get (100/500/2000/6000) map-based weapon kills.
Every weapon that is not among the 5 starting weapons count as a map-based weapon.

HORDE MEDALS
FOR THE HORDE!
Completed all 50 waves of Horde on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane).
I have no good method for this yet, but playing with the mutators "Infinite Ammo", "Super Reload" and "Instagib" on helps A LOT. Read about a solo method here: For The Horde! Solo Method. MadmanRAB also made a video for it. Click here to watch the video.
HORDER
Complete (100/500/1000/2000) waves of Horde.
Cumulative, you can do the first wave on casual as many times as it takes if you want.
ARCHITECT
Earn Founder ribbon (10/50/150/300) times.
You earn the Founder ribbon by building a base, it's the tower like structures that you have to build to even start playing horde. Cannot be earned solo and only once per session per person.
SQUAD LEADER
Earn Point Man ribbon (50/150/300/500) times.
You earn the Point Man ribbon by finishing a wave with the most points, cannot be earned solo. Easy with a 2nd controller.
FIELD ENGINEER
Complete (100/250/500/1000) fortification modifications.
Barriers, decoy, turrets etc all counts as fortifications. Building/repairing/upgrading/reloading counts towards this. These will come naturally while going for the 2000 completed waves. Here is a fast method.
BIG MONEY
Earn $(100k/500k/1mil/5mil) cash in Horde.
Everything that gives you points gives you the same amount in cash, completing challenges also earns you cash. It's probably best to keep playing boss waves with mutators on.
LOOT COURTESAN
Complete (10/20/50/100) challenges in Horde.
If you complete 3 waves in a row without dying, your next wave will have a bonus challenge for you. It can be different side objectives like getting a certain amount of headshots, executions, chainsaw-kills, turret kills etc.
------
BEAST MEDALS
I'M A BEAST!
Complete Beast without failing on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane).
There are 12 waves and you start with 1 minute on each wave, every kill you get will add time.
BEASTLY
Complete (60/180/360/600) waves of Beast.
Cumulative.
MOTIVATOR
Heal or revive (250/300/750/1500) teammates in Beast.
You have to play as the Kantus or Armored Kantus for this. Press X for your heal/revive scream. My method for these have been to join standard public games and play the savage drone until the Kantus is unlocked, then I just play the Kantus and spam X, can't heal all characters though, only those who are marked with a Locust emblem. You'll be surprised how fast this one goes up!
DISMANTLER
Destroy (150/500/1500/3000) fortifications in Beast.
The humans will build decoys, barriers, turrets etc. Destroy these by meleeing or walking through them. The Berserker is awesome for this purpose.
RUTHLESS
Kill (125/325/650/1100) humans in Beast.
INVESTOR
Earn $(100k/250k/500k/1mil) cash in Beast.
Same as horde, points = money.
HIGH ROLLER
Ready for the Heavies ribbon (5/15/35/75) times.
You get this ribbon by unlocking the final tier of locusts in a game of Beast, cannot be obtained solo. The more points you get, the faster you unlock new tiers. Unlocks at around wave 5 if using a 2nd idle controller. You have to actually buy and play with one of the highest tier locusts for this ribbon to count.

CAMPAIGN MEDALS
KING OF COG
Earn (1mil/2mil/5mil/7.5mil) total points in Arcade mode.
You'll get this naturally while going for all the other medals, if not, replay chapter 2-7 on insane as many times as it takes. See Afficionado video.
NUMBER 1
Number 1 in Arcade (20/60/120/240) times.
Load up Act II chapter VII or the prologue and make sure you play splitscreen with a idle 2nd controller, shoot anything or everything to ensure you get more points than the 2nd controller. See Afficionado video.
WARMONGER
Complete all Arcade chapters on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane)
FORCE MULTIPLIER
Maintain max multiplier in (10/30/60/100) chapters of Arcade.
Act II chapter VII again, can be done in less than 3 minutes.
SURVIVALIST
Complete (20/60/120/240) chapters without dying.
Act II chapter VII or the prologue again. You need to play co-op for these to count. See Afficionado video.
AFICIONADO
Play (50/150/300/500) chapters of Arcade.
Act II chapter VII or the prologue again.
DOORMAN
Manipulate (200/500/1000/2000) objects in campaign.
You earn credit towards this medal every time you press a button, pull a lever or open a door etc.
Load up Act I Chapter I, after the cutscene with Jace you will climb up a staircase and open a door, right in front of you will be a piano. Walk up to it and press X to "play" it. There's also a piano right in front of you if you load up act 5, chapter 5. You can stop at any object scattered over the campaign really, like the Thrashball tables, co-op doors (if you're playing co-op) or buttons. Mash your X button for about 1.5 hours and you will have the easiest and fastest onyx medal in the game!
TOUR OF DUTY
Complete campaign on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane).
Stacks with Warmonger and if you complete it on insane right away you won't have to redo it for the lesser valued medals.

------
HORDE MEDALS
------
CAMPAIGN MEDALS

BEST WAY TO GET FIRST BLOOD KILLS, HEAVY WEAPON KILLS, EXPLOSIVE KILLS, PYRO KILLS PLUS CURB STOMP KILLS:
I made it to #4 in Private Execution using this method!
Even now a week later im still #8!
If you load up private execution with Time limit 2 minutes, Fill bots, casual difficulty, Classic stalemates (OFF), Friendly Fire (OFF), Doesn't matter on weapon respawn.
HEAVY WEAPON KILLS:
EXPLOSIVE KILLS:
PYRO kills:
These Methods really helped me get my Seriously achievement out of any other methods. Another great thing about these methods is, you can stop any moment, unlike in King Of The Hill (Which I was in the top 800) you cannot if you have it set at 15 rounds. I also recommend playing music while doing these methods, it really helps get your killing done and you enjoy it alot more.
GOOD LUCK GUYS, HAPPY KILLING
I would like to also Give my method for IDLE boosting the Game type Medals:
First off you can mix some of these medals up WITHOUT a Turbo controller, but before anything I would recommend 2 wired controllers, and 1 rubber band. In every match or gametype make sure to have all weapons on boomshot, bots fill, Friendly fire (ON) and bots on INSANE.
The rubber band should be placed on at least one controller to keep your guy constantly moveing. If you don't you will be dropped.
There is 2 methods for each, 1 if you have skunker and 2 if you dont have skunker. (CTL has a method to gain Untouchable ribbons(FOR LEADER MEDAL) with IDLE BOOSTING) Also if you want free XP and Battle Mistress medal put all your characters female (Cannot put female for Wingman)
NOTE: YOU NEED 2500 SKUNKS WHICH IN TOTAL IS WINNING 2500 CONSECUTIVE 2 ROUND GAMES
CTL IF YOU NEED SKUNKER MEDALS:
CTL IF YOU DONT NEED SKUNKER MEDALS: '
CTL IF YOU NEED LEADER MEDALS (UNTOUCHABLE RIBBONS):
KOTH IF YOU NEED SKUNKER MEDALS:
KOTH IF YOU DONT NEED SKUNKER MEDALS:
NOTE: you will get HARD TARGET off WARZONE, EXECUTION, and TDM if you have bots on FILL, Im sure you will get it just by following the below methods, my hard target is at 5381 when only 3000 is needed.
WARZONE AND EXECUTION IF YOU NEED SKUNKER MEDALS:
WARZONE AND EXECUTION IF YOU DON'T NEED SKUNKER MEDALS:
TDM IF YOU NEED SKUNKER MEDALS:
TDM IF YOU DON'T NEED SKUNKER MEDALS:
WINGMAN:
OVERALL THIS IS POSSIBLY NOT THE FASTEST METHODS BUT IT STILL IS DANG CLOSE. I left my xbox on almost every night while I was boosting my kills, and this will take a very long time, I have used an XBOX slim for every single night, and it has never had problems. but 1 thing is also recommended DO NOT DO THIS IN AN ONLINE PARTY IF YOU THINK YOUR CONNECTION WILL DISCONNECT OVERNIGHT. IF SO TURN YOUR PARTY LOCAL BY HITTING SELECT ON MENU, IT WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING BUT PROTECTS YOUR MATCHES FROM ENDING BY DISCONNECTION.
GOOD LUCK YOULL NEED IT FOR THESE.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE OTHERS I DID:
ALSO NOTE: This may not be the best way for getting these medals but this is how I got them, and I felt like it was much better than boosting with people. I feel like boosting kills with people is a waste of time when you can just kill bots very easily. But this is depending on the person, I choose music over people talking, and I also prefer getting kills without giving kills. (When you can beat bots on easy difficulty)
VENGFUL:
HEADSHOT ,CAPTOR , AND PISTOL KILLS (SPOTTER IF YOU WANT TO TRY IT):
AFTER YOU GET CAPTOR:

Nice tip but idle boosting King Of the hill without skunker takes just as long as wingman heck maybe longer.
By Woolyguy24 on 07 Jul 2012 05:52
Id say longer.

Considering this is most likely to take A LOT of time, there is a high chance of you accidently getting reset at some point since there are probably a million different ways to get reset in Gears. Call me stupid now but it happens to a ton of people because they accidently quit games at wrong times ETC. Believe me, you are going to want to backup your player save every now and then. Below is how to do it.
1. Use USB or cloud storage. I feel that USB is a lot easier.
2.Launch Gears and instead of choosing where you normally save your Gears file, choose your alternate device. (USB or Cloud).
3. Now you should have your original rank on there with all your ribbons, stats, medals and everything.
4. Start a private 1 round warzone match against bots.
5. Playthrough the match really quick, this makes the game save your file.
6. From there you are done! If your rank ever gets reset just startup the game from this file and you will have your rank back on the Gears of War servers!
7. If you want to re-backup your file then just delete your backup player save on your alternate storage device and repeat the steps!
NOTE: Getting RESET in Gears also means losing all medals, ribbons and stats!
You have been warned!

I don't think you have to delete the file to back up again. If you go through the steps then it will over write the old save on the usb.
By on 03 Mar 2012 17:58
No it will not, It will load the current backup you have to whatever level you are at on that backup and therefore save that old level to the Gears servers.

i know this isnt much of a guide or solution, but it is worth noting. you no longer have to be a dead on rank 100 to unlock seriously as long as you are a white 100 or greater. i got mine at green 85.
For CTL medals -
If you try and do CTL by yourself and another controller you will only help out getting 'Sovereign' (win CTL rounds as leader). It will not count towards 'Abductor' (capture enemy leaders) or 'Leader' (earn untouchable ribbons). It does also count for 'Finisher' (get executions) though when you capture the enemy leader.
If you want to work on CTL medals exclusively for Sovereign, Abductor, Leader, Finisher, and CTL all at once the match has to be full of bots. Don't worry about Guardian as there is a much easier boosting method available.
Option 1 - SINGLE CONTROLLER OWNERS - Set the game to 5 rounds and you will be leader last. At the end of the match you would have acquired from the list above; 1-5-1-5-1. For bronze from the list above it goes 25-25-25-100-100. As you can see, it all kinda fits together. You'll get Abductor quickly, but since you need to play so many matches for Finisher and CTL anyways, you'll get Sovereign and Leader in the process. Once you get Sovereign, Leader, and Abductor you should be pretty healthy into Finisher but can change back to 1v1 to complete your CTL matches.
*Note if you can win all 5 matches you will help towards the Skunked medal.
Option 2 - DUAL CONTROLLER OWNERS - Sign on a guest account. Hit B to go back to the title menu. Press start with the guest account controller. You'll notice that the guest account is now the primary player at the top of the list. Start a 1 round (2 round if you want to work on the Skunked medal) match, 10 seconds capture time, casual bots, fill with bots. Put your guest account onto your team, should be cog. Not sure it matters but I like cog. The first match just capture the enemy leader with you account you normally use since the guest account will be leader. Every match after that, you will be the leader.
Make sure though that the guest account is the primary player. If its not, then you will not be first every match, and its not guaranteed you'll be leader for the second match.
For the Guardian medal. If you don't have two 360's, and a extra copy of the game. It's easy, make a boosting session with 1 other person. Both of you put a guest account on your team (no bots). CTL, 2 rounds, win time whatever. The first round both players will be the leader. When the second round comes along take turns saving your guest account leader over and over. This does count towards the medal. It may take some time, but its extremely easy and the quickest way. So it shouldn't take to long to get.
For the Wingman game mode medal I've heard takes a very long time, if you're planning on leaving your console on overnight. People suggested 1 minute matches but if you do that you're wasting way to much time. If one team actually gets more then one kill in that minute you it wouldn't be a problem. You're also depending on 1 team actually getting that 1 kill every round. Since the AI plays slow or good on any difficulty it probably won't in most instances. My suggestion that I've started and works good while I'm asleep and then at work for 3/4 of the day. Put the AI on normal, put the round time to 3 minutes, win is to 10. Matches like this take anywhere from as short as 6 minutes to at most 10 minutes depending on map size mostly. I'm going to try and refine the settings as best as possible but for a first round of testing I got 100 matches done. I only plan on doing this while asleep and at work to a certain point, and then go on to the next game mode (currently I already have 2300 warzone matches done) and not for the whole 3000 matches, so total playing time for this medal is I would estimate around 5-6 days of solid play.

This guide is meant to save you time when going for Seriously 3.0
Many of the medals don’t need to be sought after on their own and can be attained without dedicating time to them individually. Much of the guide has been changed but was originally written by Nikki.
Please don't vote negative unless there is something completing wrong with it that can't be fixed! (pm me!) :D
Medals that are junk medals (either you get them for getting another medal or stack while doing another action) will be at the bottom of the medal list in each category. Some that aren’t even medals (same reason above) are removed from this list, (IE embry star, allfathers/rifleman/master-arms).
In total you have about 45 medals, a little less because so many are stacking on one another so don’t be swayed by the 65 total.
Keep in mind this is for fastest medal completion. Of course you can do this with bots it will just take much more time.
Required numbers for each medal:
( BRONZE / SILVER / GOLD / ONYX )
------
*33 real medals in total
VERSUS MEDALS
ACTIVE RELOADER
(500/2500/10000/25000) perfect active reloads.
This is the most daunting medal of them all. Just make sure that you always active reload, make it a habit. If you are boosting weapon kills, always active reload from the beginning of this journey to the end.
Nikki has said:
“the snub pistol is the fastest gun to reload, master it and spam reloads.”
Also don’t bother with controllers that offer “turbo-perfect reloads” for GOW3. They don’t work reliably and you have to sit there and fire and reload over and over. Not much of a time saver.
SPOTTER
Spot (250/1000/5000/12000) enemies.
Two options for this; infinitely easier if you have a turbo controller.
Aim at an enemy and press your left stick will spot them during your normal play or boosting.
Both of this and Reloader are at the top because you absolutely need to remember to do them (unless using method below.)
Or use a turbo controller, load up a match with a guest on Mercy CTL (for 20 min rounds). Run to your guest, turbo control spot the guest for 20 minutes nets around 400 spots in 20 minutes.
VENGEFUL
Execute (10/20/50/100) nemeses.
There are two ‘best’ methods for this one is to use a second controller and grind out killing your main profile with a guest and then executing them after 5 kills in a row of you.
Second is to get a partner and both take turns doing this but ultimately this will take much, much longer because you are sharing!
SAPPER
Destroy (10/50/200/1000) enemy grenades.
Shoot a grenade that is tagged to a wall or to the floor by an enemy.
Two methods for this:
Get a friend or TA session and load up thrashball, all weapons grenades, 5 second bleed out time, on CTL for max time. The middle area has 3 nade spawns now. The walls below the platform you can walk on is ideal for this. Pick up, plant, shoot, repeat.
Nikki method:
Easy, but tedious, to boost with a 2nd controller, just tag the smoke grenade you start with and shoot it with your main profile.
HEADSHOT
Get (100/500/2000/4000) headshots.
Highlyrecommend going for this while doing the captor medal. After that, work on it with your pistol kill boosting.
Nikki note:
You can score headshots with most single-fire weapons. Easiest for me is to down someone, then fire 2 rounds in their head with the snub pistol.
_____________
***Example of a CTL TA session to use for medals below: **
“
*Each player needs 2 controllers
"Capture The Leader" boosting for games played, with the Emphasis on 5 players taking 2 hour shifts with the responsibility of capturing the leader as fast as possible, giving everyone "Skunks" even while they are idling.
Ribbons possible during the game will be Buttoned Up/Skunker/Abductor/Executioner/Leader/Captor and More, but Skunks are the aim basically.”
CAPTOR
Kill (50/200/500/1000) enemies with a captive.
Press X while standing next to a downed enemy to take them captive. While doing this medal it is highly suggested you go for pistol kills with headshots. If doing the above session method, have your teammates get assists and shoot all enemies to the downed position. Recommend all weapons set to boltok pistol.
ABDUCTOR
Capture (25/100/250/500) enemy leaders.
Earned in CTL by grabbing the other teams leader for as long as it takes to win the round. *Bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
GUARDIAN
Rescue (50/250/600/1200) leaders in CTL.
You must make the enemy drop your leader either from dying or by smoke grenade stunning for this to count.
Two methods for boosting this:
Yourself and a friend both take turns with guest signed in capturing the leader and rescuing and visa versa. Some times you can setup the game to make your guests always the leaders so you can both attain this at the same time.
Nikki’s method:
Put yourself and a casual bot on one team, a second controller on the other team. Bleedout to 5.
Make it so the bot is the leader by finishing the first round (if he's not leader from the beginning.) then you just have to keep capturing him with your second controller and rescue him with your main profile.
SOVEREIGN
Win (25/100/250/500) CTL rounds as leader.
Almost the same as untouchable, except you can get picked up; you get credit as long as your team wins the round.
LEADER
Earn (10/50/150/300) Untouchable ribbons.
You get the untouchable ribbon by finishing a round of CTL as leader without letting the enemy capture you at all. There is a trick to make you leader every round, you need to have 2 controllers and a guest profile. Make your guest the main player by pressing start with the 2nd controller at the "PRESS START"-screen, this will make your guest the main player and you the secondary player.
Start a match of CTL with rounds to win at 1 and cap time at 10, the key here is to put both you and your guest on the same team vs 5 bots. The first match you start will have the guest as a leader but every match after that youwill be the leader!
*Bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
SKUNKER
Skunk enemy team (25/100/500/2500) times.
Win without letting the enemy team win a single round, must be set to 2 round matches.
If also doing the TA session method suggested above, you will earn this very quickly.
Nikki note:
Recommend you to go for these while going for "Sovereign" and "Leader" medals or if you want them done as quick as possible, Warzone set to 2 rounds will be best.
*Bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
CTL
Play (100/300/1000/3000) CTL matches.
*Wait to complete this until after you have done the above medals first to avoid overlap.
Otherwise, same as VETERAN, except you can't set a time limit but set the capture time to 10 seconds. If you're going to idle play you can plug in a 2nd controller and set the number of bots to 1, make it so it's you and the bot vs the 2nd player. This will end the matches swiftly and you'll always win thanks to the bot on your team.

_____________
All of the game modes can be idled alone or in groups to accelerate them. TDM would be recommended to wait until you are done with all weapon boosting sessions (as most sessions use TDM.)
Remember you can plug in a controller and as the screen is loading unplug or take out the batteries and the game will still go on, just make sure you check the auto shut off setting.
_____________
KOTH
Play (100/300/1000/3000) KOTH matches.
Set the ring score to 60 when playing.
If idling, recommended you fill with bots and put the time limit at 2. Turn off classic stalemate.
EXECUTION
Play (100/300/1000/3000) Execution matches.
If idling, recommended you fill these with bots and put the time limit at 2. Turn off classic stalemate.
TDM
Play (100/300/1000/3000) TDM matches.
If idling, recommended you fill these with bots and put the time limit at 2.
WINGMAN
Play (100/300/1000/3000) Wingman matches.
Best method for idling:
Use 2 controllers, put them on one team, make the amounts of bots 2 so it will be a 2v2 match. Set the time limit to 2 and disable all weapon pick ups. The bots will rush and kill you very quickly, ending the match in 4 rounds.
SHOCK TROOPER
Earn (100/300/1000/3000) First Blood ribbons.
Score the first kill of the round, can be earned in horde and beast as well but only once per session, not every wave. Stacks while boosting all other weapon kills.
**update 6/12/2012
Method I found if you are like me and had 1500 of these left AFTER completing all other medals, open up a warzone game, casual, one minute round, with stalemate on.
Play a map like Slab or something large, run to the bots shoot one (boomshot maybe) and wait for the time to end.
Every time it stalemates and restarts the map you can earn another first blood. Fastest I've found so far without actually playing.
*Bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
ASSISTANT
Get (125/500/2000/5000) assists in Versus multiplayer.
Damage an enemy and let a teammate get the kill. Very easy to earn while CTL boosting/weapon boosting sessions. Down or injure all enemies for the person doing the capturing or weapon killing.
MEDIC
Revive (50/250/600/1200) squadmates.
Press X while standing next to a downed teammate. While boosting all other medals and playing you will should earn this without effort. But if you really want to complete this or never get to 1200 by the end, play CTL with bots and turn friendly fire on. Keep shooting your leader till he goes down, revive him, repeat until complete.
COVER
Earn (10/50/200/600) Buttoned Up ribbons.
You earn the Buttoned Up ribbon by spending the most time in cover in a match, using a meat shield will also count as cover.
Using a turbo controller: rapid fire “A” when appropriate, while idling matches at any time.
*Bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
WAR SUPPORTER
Play in (5/10/20/30) Gears events.
Play online during 30 different Gears Events, check events by going to the "Event Calendar" option in the main menu. Also, keep in mind that Epic is now not updating the event calendar….really ever but they are still going on. Other third party sites my be needed to look up when events are happening (ie EPIC forums.)
HARD TARGET
Earn (100/300/1000/3000) Last Man Out ribbons.
Be the last person on your team to die, cannot be obtained in KOTH, Wingman or CTL. You will achieve this and more while afk-playing TDM/Execution/Warzone and boosting other medals.
*Bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
BATTLE MISTRESS
Play as a female in (25/100/500/1000) matches.
Set your character for any of the female characters and leave it that way as you go for other medals.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Get (100/500/2000/6000) map-based weapon kills.
Every weapon that is not among the 5 starting weapons count as a map-based weapon. By default (going for other medals) you will be onyxing this medal 2.5 times.
MVP
Earn (5/25/100/500) MVP ribbons.
You get the MVP ribbon by finishing a match with the most points. Recommend you don’t work on this at all with bot matches. If you are boosting weapons & other medals this will occur naturally.
*Bots set to "Fill" or in a match full of players.
VETERAN
Play (100/500/2000/4000) matches.
Not worth actually dedicating time to this medal. Going for all the other medals will onyx this medal many times.
MATCH WINNER
Win (50/250/1000/3000) matches.
Not worth actually dedicating time to this medal. Going for all the other medals will onyx this medal many times.
FIELD SERVICE
Reach Level (25/50/75/100).
Experience points will come on their own as you play.
If you are desperate for rank 100, use the reconnaissance medal boosting technique.
Use a turbo controller for your main account (Player1). Player 2 gives all money to main account. Player 1 then buys a grenade, drops new grenade. Hold X for Player 2 to pick up the grenade then unplug the controller. P2 will not stop picking up the grenades. P1 will now turbo-control-spot the grenades for a maximum of 9 hours. Complete wave 1 and repeat as needed.

HORDE MEDALS
BIG MONEY
Earn $(100k/500k/1mil/5mil) cash in Horde.
This is cumulative. Recommend the rustlung method. If you are one of the two watching the left/right side you’ll be taking in 70-100k per 30 rounds (which take 12-60 seconds). This is where the real grind will come in. All other medals including horder should complete before you reach this.
If you plan to play alone, slower but still possible, keep playing boss waves with mutators on.
HORDER
Complete (100/500/1000/2000) waves of Horde.
Cumulative. Very strongly urge you to use the rustlung method for this on casual stopping at round 30 and dying and restarting.
If using the rustlung method this will onyx at least twice if you are one of the two point men.
Easy to do alone with a 2nd controller.
FOR THE HORDE!
Completed all 50 waves of Horde on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane).
Highly recommend the rustlung boosting method.
Mutators, Super reload, instagib and infinite ammo. Minimum of 3 players with 2 guests signed in for the rustlung method but if you are going for insane, likely need 5 real players.
FIELD ENGINEER
Complete (100/250/500/1000) fortification modifications.
Barriers, decoy, turrets etc all counts as fortifications. Building/repairing/upgrading/reloading counts towards this. These will come quickly while going for the 2000 completed waves.
LOOT COURTESAN
Complete (10/20/50/100) challenges in Horde.
Complete 3 waves in a row without dying, your next wave will have a bonus challenge for you. It can be different side objectives like getting a certain amount of headshots, executions, chainsaw-kills, turret kills etc.
If using the rustlung method this will onyx at least twice but likely many more times. Don’t bother going for difficult challenges (headshots/chainsaws) as it will only slow down the waves. Link to method below.

BEAST MEDALS
I'M A BEAST!
Complete Beast without failing on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane).
There are 12 waves and you start with 1 minute on each wave, every kill you get will add time. To complete on insane you almost undoubtedly have to have 5 players and work together to destroy fortifications as well as humans.
Recommend you stay as the tier one with the Savage Drone until you unlock the Corpser/Boomer (your preference) and then stay there until the final tier (both with others and working alone).
DISMANTLER
Destroy (150/500/1500/3000) fortifications in Beast.
The humans will build decoys, barriers, turrets etc. Destroy these by meleeing or walking through them. This should onyx twice.
BEASTLY
Complete (60/180/360/600) waves of Beast.
Cumulative and will likely onyx twice.
RUTHLESS
Kill (125/325/650/1100) humans in Beast.
Will likely onyx 3 to 5 times.

CAMPAIGN MEDALS
#Work on completing the chapter’s on insane first in arcade; then working on force multiplier next. Both are very time consuming and rather annoying.#
FORCE MULTIPLIER
Maintain max multiplier in (10/30/60/100) chapters of Arcade.
Act II chapter VII, can be done in less than 3 minutes. (SEE video below, make sure you have a partner or a guest signed in).
SURVIVALIST
Complete (20/60/120/240) chapters without dying.
Act II chapter VII or the prologue again. You need to play co-op/guest signed in for these to count.
*Stack easily when doing force multiplier and other chapter completion.
NUMBER 1
Number 1 in Arcade (20/60/120/240) times.
Load up Act II chapter VII or the prologue and make sure you play split screen with an idle 2nd controller, shoot anything or everything to ensure you get more points than the 2nd controller.
There is a method if you delete your xbox system cache where you can complete this quickly but if you decide to do that keep in mind it will erase progress in some achievements you are working on (IE say progress in completing “Play 10 matches of Versus as a member of Zeta” and others)
AFICIONADO
Play (50/150/300/500) chapters of Arcade.
Act II chapter VII or the prologue again.
Also, same with method above with system cache.
KING OF COG
Earn (1mil/2mil/5mil/7.5mil) total points in Arcade mode.
You'll get this naturally while going for other medals, if not, replay chapter 2-7 on insane as many times as it takes.
With a turbo controller this is a very fast/easy medal.
WARMONGER
Complete all Arcade chapters on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane)
TOUR OF DUTY
Complete campaign on (Casual/Normal/Hardcore/Insane).
Stacks with Warmonger and if you complete it on insane right away you won't have to redo it for the lesser valued medals.

Recommend you stay as the tier one with the Savage Drone until you unlock the Corpser/Boomer (your preference) and then stay there until the final tier (both with others and working alone).

EDIT - 13 July 2016: Added new links for missing images.
FOLLOWING SOLUTION IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE TYPICAL "1v5 TDM on Mercy" WEAPONS BOOSTING FOR RIFLES & SHOTGUNS
Using this method can net you nearly 1000 kills in 3 hours as opposed to the 600 normally acquired during a 3-hour 1v5 boost session (1 hour actively killing, and 2+ hours idle while fellow boosters kill), and may be useful if you cannot consistently do boost sessions.
This method is targeted primarily at the following weapons medals: Lancer, Hammerburst, Retro Lancer, Gnasher, Sawed-Off. In addition, you can also make some progress, albeit slow, on the Assistant medal, as well as a few others.
EDIT - 20 Oct 2012: After finally getting to the Gnasher, I kind of got bored with King of the Hill. So I tried TDM. Lo and behold, I found that you can also average about the same number of kills on TDM with the quick-kill Gnasher. In a 5 round TDM with 35, even with the bots taking some kills I was able to get around 175-185 per match, but this match only takes 26-28 minutes. This works out to about the same kill rate in a 3-hour time slot as my method for KOTH below. So, if you want to change it up a bit with the Gnasher, there is even another alternative...
Set up the following game:
-Game type: King of the Hill (KOTH)
-Round score: 240
-Rounds to win: 2, 5, 10, or whatever you want (recommend minimum 2 if you need Skunker; I usually select 5 just to provide a "natural" break)
-# of bots: Fill
-Bot difficulty: Casual
-Bleed out time: 5
-Friendly fire: Off
-Weapon respawn: After Pickup
-Map selection: Host chooses
-Choose the map "Mercy"
-I play as COG, but it shouldn't matter
-Don't worry about capturing the Hill yourself unless you want/need the extra points; let your own bots capture and you can focus on killing
The image below shows the different locations where the Hill spawns during the course of a round. It also shows where I've chosen weapon spawn points for the Hammerburst:
After playing several hundred rounds, I've found that the Hill migration order is nearly always 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 or 1,2,4,3,6,5,7
For each Hill, I recommend the following optimum "camping" locations around/near the Hill. These are chosen based on how the enemy approaches the Hill after respawn, and how it provides a good line of sight to target the enemy on that approach. Note that immediately after a Hill migration, the enemies on the board start to move toward that Hill from many directions, but after a few kills and respawns they tend to come from only one or 2 directions toward the Hill.
-Hill 1: Stay directly in the Hill; Locust tend to approach the balcony from both sides, so staying in the Hill gives maximum view of approach. Keep moving around within the Hill proper and monitor the stairs as some bots may slip through your own team's bots and can sneak up on you with the Gnasher.
-Hill 2: Camp in the small hallway on either side of the Sanctuary as marked with the red X's in the following picture.
-Hill 3: Stay in the Hill and look toward the Balcony. Enemies typically come from that direction as marked by the curved arrow in the picture below.
-Hill 4: Same strategy as Hill 3; stay in the Hill and watch mainly toward the balcony.
-Hills 5 & 6: Camp at the small cover spot near each Hill, as marked by the X in the picture below. The enemy bots mostly respawn on the balcony and follow the paths shown as marked by the arrows. They can also come from near the cellar and library areas. When using the 3 rifles, this camping spot is ideal for targeting the enemy as they come toward the Hill, and to monitor the Hill itself.
-Hill 7: Sometime the round ends prior to getting this Hill, but if not, best place is to camp right next to the fountain in between the camping spots for Hills 5 and 6 and watch all sides.
With both Lancer and Hammerburst so far, I've been able to achieve 40-60 kills per round and usually netting 220-260 kills in a 5-round match, which lasts between 35-45 minutes. Therefore, on average, playing 4 matches over 3 hours, you can get a minimum of 800 kills, and even up to 1000. Of course, you don't get the mandatory break like you do in a boost session, but the overall rate of kills is higher with this alternative and you can pause at any time.
If you use this alternative, I hope it works for you also and wouldn't mind hearing about it in the comments.

Onyx architect medal (Founder ribbon)
For this medal you will need:
- Friendly fire mutator (attain this by completing the campaign in 4-player co-op)
- A second controller or a very generous friend
Start a private horde match (any difficulty) on checkout. Although I haven't tested all of the maps, checkout seems to have its spawns closest to the command posts.
The player wishing to boost then sets up the command post, moves over to the idle control and they smoke grenade tag each other. This should take roughly 10 seconds.
Finally, after you have both died restart from the beginning (restarting from current wave does not seem to give multiple founder ribbons)
This method should give roughly 2.5 founder medals/minute. If anyone would like to make a video of this or for any further clarification, please message me.

This guide is based on having access to 3 xboxes. Between Gears 3 having been free on Games w/Gold and it being backwards compatible, that lowers the bar for that requirement quite a bit. If you have a xbox one and a 360, you are already 2/3 of the way there. If you can find someone else with a similar setup, they can join whichever one (One/360) they aren’t using to your lobby. I refer at some points to a “sufficiently capable” macro controller. The CronusMax/TitanOne is one that I know of that would enable you to do several medals “hands free”. I believe the older version is $39 currently (you don’t need the new one unless you are using it on a PS4). If you decide to go that route, let me know and I will send you my scripts.
Versus Mode
1st I will cover all the medals you can earn in versus.
Automatic
You should get the following medals automatically just in the course of taking care of all the others. Just make sure you are using a female model (whichever team you are on) for the Battle Mistress.
War Supporter: Play in 30 gears events (you will automatically get bumped up to 29/30 and need to play one online match of any type to finish it)
Field Service: Reach Level 100
Veteran: Play 4000 matches
Match Winner: Win 3000 matches
Allfathers: Onyx Medal in all game modes.
Master-at-Arms: Onxy Medal with all 5 starting weapons
Rifleman: Onxy Medal with all 3 starting rifles
Battle Mistress: Play as a female in 1000 matches
Special Teams: Get 6000 map-based weapon kills
Idling
These are all things you can do leaving your xbox idle and just letting the bots fight. Some will only be possible with a turbo controller. You can do these whenever you want. These obviously will not be the only time you do these matches so you can save this for last, or stop a little before 3000, or just let it finish so you can forget about it. Any of the idle boosting will go faster if you only have the basic maps. So I would recommend deleting all DLC or moving it to a USB drive and removing it until you are done idling.
#1 Warzone
Gametype: Warzone
Xboxes: 1
Players: Players: You+4 bots vs 5 bots (insane) or You vs 2 bots (once done with hard target)
Settings: 1 Round, change all pickups to boomshot, 5 sec bleed out
Speed/Rate: 18/hr (warzone), 10/hr (hard target) then
22 /hr (warzone only)
Time Required: 170 hrs (this assumes you will be doing it at the slower rate to get Hard Target)
Medals: Warzone(3000/3000)
Hard Target(~1600/3000)
Cover (~3000/3000)
Just let this run overnight or whenever you aren’t using your xbox until you hit 3000 matches. Turbo the A button if you can and you will make progress to Button Up. Once you are done with Cover you can stop turboing A. If you really want to speed this up, you can do you and 4 idle controllers vs 5 bots and rubber band the left thumbstick up on everyone except you (this will make them run forward and hopefully die before you). If all you need is the matches then switch to you vs 2 bots.
#2 CTL
Gametype: CTL
Xboxes: 3
Players: 1 idle controller+You+3 bots (insane) vs 4 idle controllers+1 bot (other controller on your team must be the host, not you, this will cause you to always be leader). If you only have 2 Xboxes, you can do 1 idle (host)+You+3 bots (insane) vs 2 idle+3 bots, but your progress on Leader and Sovereign will be slower. Once you are done with Leader, you can switch to you+1 idle (but make them host, i.e. they press start from title screen) vs 3 bots (insane).
Settings: 1 round, change all pickups to boomshot, 10 second capture
Speed/Rate: 17/hr (Leader) then 18/hr (CTL/Sovereign)
Time Required: 18 hrs (w/3 boxes) then 146 hrs (w/1 box)
Medals: CTL(3000/3000)200 7:30 (to get 2622)
Cover (3000/3000)
Leader(300/300)
Sovereign(500/500)
Just let this run overnight or whenever you aren’t using your xbox until you hit 3000 matches. Turbo the A button if you can and you will make progress to Button Up. Once you finish Leader/Sovereign you can drop down to one xbox and the same player settings as for warzone.
#3 Execution
Gametype: Execution
Xboxes: 1
Players: You+4 bots vs 5 bots (insane) or You vs 2 bots (once done with hard target)
Settings: 1 Round, change all pickups to boomshot, 60 sec bleed out
Speed/Rate: 18/hr (execution), 10/hr (hard target) then
22/hr (execution)
Time required: 170 hrs
Medals: Execution(3000/3000)21
Hard Target(~3000/3000)
Just let this run overnight or whenever you aren’t using your xbox until you hit 3000 matches. Turbo the A button if you can and you will make progress to Button Up. You should be done with Cover by now, but if not, keep turboing A. If you really want to speed this up, you can do you and 4 idle controllers vs 5 bots and rubber band the left thumbstick up on everyone except you (this will make them run forward and hopefully die before you).
#4 KOTH
Gametype: KOTH
Xboxes: 3
Players: You and 4 bots (insane) vs 5 idle controllers
Settings: 2 Rounds
Speed/Rate: 13/hr (Skunker) then 24/hr (KOTH)
Time Required: 210hrs
Medals: KOTH(3000/3000)
Skunker(2500/2500)
Just let this run overnight or whenever you aren’t using your xbox until you hit 3000 matches. Once you finish skunker you can switch to 1 round and 1 xbox.
Cooperative
These are really best done with another live person.
#5 Vengeful
Gametype: KOTH
Xboxes: 1
Players: 1v1
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map - Hotel ,change weapons to longshot
Speed/Rate: 35/hr (solo), 20/hr (2 people)
Time Required: 3hrs (solo), 5 hrs(2 people)
Medals: Vengeful(100/100)
Headshot(400/4000)
Finisher(100/6000)
If two people are working on this: P1 grabs longshot from enemy pistol spawn, shoots them 5 times, then runs up to them while P2 retro charges them (or just stands there with lancer chainsaw revved up). Then P2 runs to the other pistol spawn, grabs longshot, shoots them 4x, after which P1 retro charges them. Either let them know over chat when your spawn protection wears off, or fire your weapon. The actual protection seems to last a second or two after the timer goes away, so don’t shoot too soon.
If doing this solo: log in a second controller, have them run to the enemy pistol spawn and headshot you 5x, then have them run over to you while you hold the B button to rev your lancer chainsaw.
#6 Sapper
Gametype: CtL
Xboxes: 1
Players: 1v1
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map – hotel ,change weapons to grenades
Speed/Rate: 5/min
Time Required: 3.5hrs
Medals: Sapper(1000/1000)
1 player runs around picking up/tagging grenades, and other shoots them. Then switch. The path we followed was each side pistol spawn, then digger/boomshot, grenade, then torque/longshot. Find two places in between each spawn where you can stick a grenade and your buddy can see it easily. Alternatively you can do this “solo” while weapon boosting on mercy. At the start of each spawn have your 2nd controller slap their smoke grenade on the wall. It adds a little time to the match but is marginally more efficient than coop (about 6 or 7 per added minute of match time) and only requires one person.
Miscellaneous
#7 CTL Ribbons
Gametype: CTL
Xboxes: 3
Players: You+4 bots (casual) vs 5 idle controllers
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map - Mercy ,change weapons to Boltok, 20sec capture time
Speed/Rate: 4/hr
Time Required: 9hrs
Medals: Captor(1000/1000) - this will take 250 rounds/17 matches
Abductor(500/500) - this will take 500 rounds/34 matches
Headshot(2400/4000)
Pistols(2000/6000)
MVP(34/500)
Shock Trooper(500/3000)
Finisher(600/6000)
You will need to work a little bit here, as there will be one live bot on the other team. Grab the leader (should be one of the idle controllers, not the bot), then headshot the others with the Boltok.
#8 Medic/Guardian
Gametype: CTL
Xboxes: 2
Players: You+1 idle vs 1 idle
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map – Mercy, friendly fire on, shortest bleed out, longest round time
Speed/Rate: 6/min (Guardian) 17/min (medic)
Time Required: 200min (Guardian), 70min (medic)
Medals: Medic(1200/1200)
Guardian(1200/1200)
Down your leader then revive them for Medic. For Guardian, have enemy melee then grab them, then melee them off.
#9 Assistant
Gametype: KotH
Xboxes: 3
Players: you + 4 bots (insane) v5 idle controllers
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map – mercy, all weapons to Boomshot? (I’m not really sure what will keep them killing fastest in TDM, HoD was very disappointing, maybe mortars?)
Speed/Rate: 750/hr (coop),275/hr solo
Time Required: 6.66hrs (coop), 17hrs (solo)
Medals: Assistant(5000/5000)
Spray the enemy team with lancer, let bots kill them off. This can also be done with another player, spray the enemy team while they are working on Hammer of Dawn or Mortar kills. Best done on Hotel, just stay far enough away from enemy that you don’t flip spawns. If you can coordinate with another human, this can be done very effectively whie they are boosting HoD or Mortar kills.
#10 Active Reloader/Spotter
Gametype: CtL
Xboxes: 1
Players: You vs idle
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map – mercy, weapons to starter pistol
Speed/Rate: 30/min (reload), 20/min (spot)
Time Required: 14 hrs (reload), 10hrs (spot)
Medals: Active Reloader(25000/25000)
Spotter(12000/12000)
If you have a sufficiently capable turbo/macro controller, this can be done automatically. Park yourself on top of a weapon spawn. Shoot a shot, reload, pick up a new gun when needed. Then go over to the other controller and spam (or turbo) the LS.
Quit Outs
These can both be done by idling but will be much MUCH faster with quit outs.
#11 TDM
Gametype: TDM
Xboxes: 2
Players: You vs 1 (on a 2nd xbox)
Rounds: 1
Speed/Rate: 45/hr or 14/10/6/hr (idling with 3/2/1 xboxes)
Time Required: 66 hrs or 214/300/500hrs (idling with 3/2/1 xboxes)
Medals: TDM(3000/3000)
Start the match then quit with the 2nd xbox and have them rejoin the match immediately (using join session in progress is easiest). With a sufficiently capable macro controller this could be automated.
#12 Wingman
Gametype: Wingman
Xboxes: 2
Players: You vs 1 (on a 2nd xbox), if idling then you+1 idle vs 2 bots (insane) seems to be fastest
Rounds: 1
Speed/Rate: 45/hr or 7.5/hr (idling)
Time Required: 66 hrs or 400 (idling)
Medals: Wingman(3000/3000)
Start the match then quit with the 2nd xbox and have them rejoin the match immediately (using join session in progress is easiest). With a sufficiently capable macro controller this could be automated. If idling, the best settings are 2V2, 10 points, 3 minute rounds, 2 insane bots, 30 sec bleed out, all weapons to boomshot, and make sure both the 2 controllers and the bots are both on COG.
MVP/Shock Trooper
This will finish up MVP and shock trooper and a good amount of weapons.
#13 15 round matches
Gametype: Warzone
Xboxes: 3
Players: You + 4 bots (casual) vs 5 idle controllers
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map - Mercy
Speed/Rate: 6/hr
Time Required: 30hrs
Medals: MVP(180/500)
Shock Trooper(2690/3000)
Sawed-off Shotgun(6000/6000)
Gnasher Shotgun(4950/6000)
Headshot(4000/4000)
Run over to the other spawn, kill them all, when you finish the match, start a new one on Mercy. With the Sawed-Off you can usually get a triple kill if you stand right in front of the front right enemy in their spawn, move slightly to the right, and aim slightly to the left of the back right enemy. Then a 2nd shot will kill the remaining two enemies. This should take 146 matches like this. If you finish a weapon, do curb stomps until the match ends and you can change.
#14 1 round matches
Gametype: Warzone
Xboxes: 3
Players: You + 4 bots (casual) vs 5 idle controllers
Rounds: 1
Speed/Rate: 30/hr
Time Required: 11 hrs
Medals: MVP(500/500)
Shock Trooper(3000/3000)
Gnasher Shotgun(6000/6000)
Run over to the other spawn, kill them all, when you finish the match, start a new one on Mercy. With the Sawed-Off you can usually get a triple kill if you stand right in front of the front right enemy in their spawn, move slightly to the right, and aim slightly to the left of the back right enemy. Then a 2nd shot will kill the remaining two enemies.
Weapon Cleanup
At this point all that is left is a large number of weapon kills
#15 Curb Stomp
Gametype: TDM
Xboxes: 3
Players: You vs 5 idle controllers
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map – Mercy, 35 respawns, 60 sec bleedout
Speed/Rate: 450/hr
Time Required: 7 hrs
Medals: Old Schooler(3000/3000)
Finisher(3600/6000)
Go to their spawn and keep killing them with curb stomps. I found this easies with retro lancer. My best results were to down two while running up and down the remaining 3 with melee.
#16 Lancer
Gametype: TDM
Xboxes: 3
Players: You vs 5 idle controllers
Rounds: 15
Settings: Map – Mercy, 35 respawns, 60 sec bleedout
Speed/Rate: 480/hr
Time Required: 12.5hrs
Medals:Retro Lancer(6000/6000)
Finisher(6000/6000)
Go to their spawn and kill them using the chainshaw, its faster than shooting.
#17 Retro Lancer
Gametype: TDM
Xboxes: 3
Players: You vs 5 idle controllers
Rounds: 15
Speed/Rate: 550/hr
Settings: Map – Mercy, 35 respawns, 60 sec bleedout
Time Required: 11hrs
Medals:Retro Lancer(6000/6000)
Go to their spawn and keep killing them, use charges for the first one then shoot them.
#18 Remaining weapons
Gametype: TDM
Xboxes: 3
Players: You vs 5 idle controllers
Rounds: 15
Speed/Rate: Varies
Time Required: Varies
Settings: Map – Hotel, 35 respawns, 60 sec bleedout
Medals: Hammerburst(6000/6000) – set all to Hammerburst
Pistols(6000/6000) – set all to Boltok
Pyro(3000/3000) – set pistols Hammer of Dawn
Explosives(6000/6000) – set all to frag grenades
Heavy Weapons(6000/6000) – set all to Mortar
A note about spawn points: as long as you aren’t too close to their spawn when they are spawning back in, they will stay on the same spawn so you don’t need to run back and forth. “Far enough” is inside the sandbags of the pistol spawn, or behind the middle line of the sidewalk near the hotel side doors. (There is a line that runs down the middle about halfway between the curb and the door, you need to be behind it.)
Hammerburst(500/hr-12.5hrs): Run to the close pistol spawn and grab the appropriate weapon. Then run to the pistol spawn closest to the enemy. Stand to the outside of the spawn so you can see the feet of all five enemies. This will give you the best angle. Shoot the enemy and run the six feet pick up ammo as needed. Don’t wait for the perfect active reload (hammer burst perfect is at end of bar), it’s not worth it.
Pistols(450/hr-13.3hrs): Grab the boltok from the close pistol spawn, then grab extra ammo from the top spawn. Refill from the enemy pistol spawn and boomshot/digger spawn as needed. You can headshot them all while standing on the enemy pistol spawn. You can refill as soon as you get down to 24 shots without wasting any.
Pyro(950/hr-3.5hrs): Grab the hammer of dawn from the close pistol spawn, then run to far pistol spawn. Target middle enemy and incinerate them. You should be able to hit them 4 or 5 times, then grab 2nd HoD and finish up. Don’t even start shooting HoD until spawn protection wears off.
Heavy Weapons(800/hr-7.5hrs): Grab from grenade spawn, walk just past sandbags, aim for top center of APC, or above center of enemy team (maybe twice head height), max power. You can start charging shot when spawn protection timer hits 3 or 4, no need to let go of LT to reload. Once out of ammo, grab from digger/boomshot spawn. Head towards enemy and go just to the outside (farther from hotel) of the 1st car or truck, max power. Once out of ammo, head to pistol spawn near enemies. Back up to ???, aim at head of center guy, max power.
Explosives(775/hr-7.75hrs): Grab grenades from close pistol spawn, run to enemy spawn, tag guy in center, and immediately run to either hotel side door or enemy pistol spawn. Grab new grenades from enemy pistol, then one of the center spawns, then enemy pistol spawn should be ready again for final kills.
Mutators
There are 5 mutators that will be very helpful in Horde and Arcade mode. I’ll cover the quickest way to get each.
#1 Super Reload
You should already have this from doing the versus mode medals, specifically the bronze Master-at-Arms medal (100 kills with each starting weapon).
#2 Comet
You should already have this from doing the versus mode medals, specifically the silver ribbon for 300 First Blood ribbons.
#3 Infinite Ammo
Gametype: Horde
Xboxes: 1 or 2
Players: You+1 or 3 idle controllers
Settings: Map – Mercy, Difficulty – Insane, Mutators – friendly fire (optional)
You need 100 combat engineer ribbons, which are earned by making 5 things in a round. Give all the money on your other controllers to the one trying to unlock this. (Get close, aim, and hit B twice). Build a base. You have two options then, you can build a turret, have the other controller hop in, shoot, you reload it with your main, and repeat that 2 more times. What I would recommend, however especially if you have 3 other controllers, is just build/upgrade 4 more things. (You can still do this with the $2000 from two controllers, you will just be limited to building small walls and decoys. There are several spots in mercy with enough small walls to do that). If you have $4000 you will make pretty good progress towards leveling up your defenses as well. Just try to spend as close to the full $4000 as you can each round. After that just wait for the enemies to kill you and then pick restart from beginning (NOT from the current wave). If you have just two players and already have friendly fire unlocked, you can simultaneously tag each other with smoke grenades to end the round before the enemy even spawns.
#4 Instagib Melee
Gametype: Beast
Xboxes: 1
Players: You+1 idle controllers
Settings: Map – Mercy, Difficulty – Casual
You need 200 kills as a wretch. The easiest way to do this seems to be to spawn in the second controller as something large and tough like a butcher. Run them a little bit out of the spawn, to the L shaped piece of cover. Spawn in your main controller as a wretch and start killing guys. For the most part the enemies will be ignoring you and shooting at the butcher and you can mow them down with little trouble. You probably don’t want to progress past wave 3 or so. While there are more enemies to kill on later waves, they get a bit tougher (more heroes, more defenses) which slows things down.
#5 Friendly Fire
Gametype: Arcade
Xboxes: 2
Players: You+3 idle controllers or 3 friends
You need to complete the game in 4 player co-op on any difficulty. Since you don’t need this mutator for arcade mode (just for horde) I would wait until you have completed your arcade mode play through and wrap up any chapters that you have not done in 4 player. (Hopefully just the final one.)
Arcade Mode
#1 Insane Playthrough
Gametype: Arcade
Xboxes: 2
Players: You+3 idle controllers or 3 friends
Settings: Difficulty – Insane, Mutators – Comet, Infinite Ammo, Super Reload
Medals:Warmonger
Tour of Duty
Start at the 1st act with 4 players if possible. If you can’t manage 4 it is worth signing in extra controllers. Arcade mode only ends if everyone is dead at the same time. After dying you respawn in 25 seconds, so even an idle controller far away from the action can save the day and let you spawn back in. You should do pretty well with your starting rifle thanks to super reload. If you empty your clip and then perform a super reload, you will have a full clip of super ammo that does greatly increased damage. After that you will have another full clip of normal ammo. It is often worth just staying in cover and blind firing your normal clip so that you can have another super clip. When you finish a fight, if there isn’t much super ammo left, empty your clip and do a super reload. Unlike normal super reloads, it does not expire. Comet is your get out of jail free card. While you are roadie running you are on fire and invincible and will kill small enemies you run into. If you are the last one alive and have enough running room, you can just run in circles with comet and wait for everyone to respawn. As long as you don’t run into a wall and stop you are golden. On the final level I highly recommend not trying it on 4-player insane. The number of palace guards that spawn is pretty absurd. I would play on 2 player insane arcade where you will face far fewer guards. Try to take the boss down as quickly as possible, both hitting her with your Hammers of Dawn when she is vulnerable. After beating it, you can then quickly go back and beat her with 4 players (extra controllers if necessary) on casual.
#2 House of Sand
Gametype: Arcade
Xboxes: 1
Players: You+1 idle controllers or 3 friends
Settings: Level 2-2, Difficulty – Normal, Mutators – Comet, Super Reload (we are skipping infinite ammo and casual so we will get enough points for king of cog)
Medals: King of Cog (7.5M/7.5M)
Number 1 (240/240)
Survivalist (240/240)
Aficionado (500/500)
Start the level and run through as quickly as you can, but try to avoid getting hit as much as possible, and do not get knocked down.
Level Walkthrough: You will face a medium corpser soon so empty your clip, prepare your super reload and grab the ammo at the start area. After the corpser, there will be one grenadier (carrying some ammo), then prepare a new super reload before heading through the gateway into the next open area. There will be a low wall to your left as you enter. Take cover behind it and kill off 3 or 4 savage grenadiers, a few tickers, and a savage boomer. Once they are cleared out, you can run out of cover to the right and go up the ramp a bit (but not all the way) and take cover along the side. From there you can quickly take out the grinder using your active reload. As you run towards the door you’ll get a cutscene. Use the cover you end up in front of (with both controllers) and 4 or so savage therons and perhaps 8 savage drones will burst out of the ground. After they are done, prepare your super reload, and open the gate with the help of your 2nd controller. Once through the gate and the cutscene, you will want to have your 2nd controller quickly take cover behind a rockwall that is at about 45 degrees to your left. Then have your 1st controller sprint down the ramp (and straight at the fork) and take cover by the small wall at the right side of the ramp. Two grenadiers will drop down, kill them and move up past the crate to another small wall. A few grenadiers and a savage boomer will come out in front of you and a few grenadiers to your left, then a few more grenadiers. Once they are clear, climb up the ladder, hop in the catapult and try to take out as many enemies as you can with your 3 shots. Then comet run past all the enemies, through the open gate and take cover on the far side of the square of boxes facing back the way you just came. Clear out any remaining enemies and more will pop out of the ground. Kill all but one or two and then turn around and run right up to the closed gate (facing it). Then bring your other controller and finish off any remaining enemies. Once they are all dead you will get a checkpoint and the gate will open.
The Trick: You are now about 5 seconds from the end of the level. Run right through the gate and up the hill. The level will end. You will get medals. Right after the score screen goes away a cut scene will start. When it does, immediately pause the game and then reload the last checkpoint. You will then be back at the gate, moments from the end. You can repeat this many times. You may want to stop after 75 or so as I found my game would tend to freeze if I went too much further, and sometimes I would have credit for those ribbons and sometime not. When you want to stop just skip the cutscene then return to the main menu once the next chapter starts.
#3 Unbreakable
Gametype: Arcade
Xboxes: 1
Players: You
Settings: Level 3-1, Difficulty – casual, Mutators – Infinite Ammo, Comet, Super Reload
Medals: Force Multiplier(100/100)
Start the level. Once you reach the 2nd section in the inner courtyard, don’t get hit too much and you should max out your multiplier fairly easily. And don’t let them breach the inner doors, or the level will drag on much longer. After the score screen, immediately pause and reload and you should be at the beginning of the courtyard fight and can repeat your performance. (You do not have 2 or 3 seconds to pause like on house of sand, you need to pause as soon as the score screen starts to fade).
#4 The Piano Man
Gametype: Arcade
Xboxes: 1
Players: You
Settings: Level 1-1, Difficulty – casual
Medals: Doorman(2000/2000)
Start the level. Get Dom, get Jace, get a turbo controller if you can, then go up the stairs, walk up to the piano, and press X for 3 hours.
Horde Mode
This section is going to be a little more free form, as there are a lot of ways you can go about this, but here’s what you need to do all together:
• Complete 2000 waves
• Earn 300 Founder ribbons
• Earn 500 Point Man ribbons
• Earn $5M
• Complete 100 challenges
• Complete 1000 fortification modifications
• Complete all 50 waves on Insane (in one sitting)
For the 50 waves obviously you have to play on insane, I’d highly recommend 5 people for that and the infinite ammo and super reload mutators, along with instagib or comet depending on your personal preference.
Then you’re going to need to grind out the 2000 waves. Go with casual for this and either a 2nd controller or an idle friend or two. For mutators I would recommend infinite ammo, super reload, and friendly fire. You shouldn’t really need instagib or comet on casual, and friendly fire makes it easy to down the other people so you can restart on wave 1 without quitting back to the main menu. You will also make twice as much progress on leveling your fortifications. My preferred map for this is blood drive as it is small and easily held by one person. If you want to ease the sting a little, I’d find a friend who needs this too, and you take shifts, each doing 100 waves while the other person idles. Having two people actively playing is faster, but not twice as fast, so this is a bit more efficient in terms of man hours. I’d recommend repeating waves 2-9 (or you can even go up to 19). But I’d avoid getting into the 20s and I’d stop if you get a lambent berserker, they just take too long. If you are running waves 2-9 you should be averaging about 5000 per wave. That will get you your 5 million in about 1000 waves (which is why I recommend splitting up the duties 50/50. That will also get you 125 founder ribbons, more point man ribbons than you need, and you should easily have 100 challenges and probably your fortification modifications (even if you just build 2 barbed wire walls and repair them 3 times each, that’s well over 1000).
The most likely things you will be behind on after 2000 waves are money and founder ribbons. For money, I would play wave 9 and deliberately die to the last enemy, then restart and repeat. For founder ribbons, I’m also assuming you will want to level up your fortification (both to make playing horde easier and for the achievements). If you start off with that it will not take very long. Start a game on insane on the map Mercy with friendly fire and 2 other “bad” mutators with 2 xboxes and 4 controllers. It can be done with just 2 controllers, but won’t be as fast. Give all the money from 3 controllers to the one you want to gain the levels. Have them build the base and then spend your $4000. Either gun down all of your teammates and wait for the locust to kill you, or gun down two, and then have the last two tag each other with smoke grenades. Then restart from the beginning. The whole process should take less than a minute. Thank to playing on insane and the mutators you will be making $5,500 of progress towards your fortifications each time. To level everything up as far as is needed for the fortifications will cost you $1,125,000. So you will need to do this just over 200 times. Which should only take you 4 hours or so even if you are starting from square 1. Hopefully you are well on your way already.
If all you need is founder ribbons, skip the rigamarole with transferring money and building things. Difficulty doesn’t matter, level doesn’t matter, just have 2 controllers. Build a command post, smoke tag each other, restart, repeat.
Beast Mode
You’re almost done! Here’s what you need in beast:
• I'm A Beast! - Complete Beast without failing on Insane
• Beastly - Complete 600 waves of Beast
• Motivator - Heal or revive 1500 teammates in Beast
• Dismantler - Destroy 3000 fortifications in Beast
• Ruthless - Kill 1100 humans in Beast
• Investor - Earn $1M cash in Beast
• High Roller - Get the Ready for the Heavies ribbon 75 times
I’ll start with the insane run. Find four friends. At least three of you need to be good with boomers. Play on Raven Down, it is a very small map which makes this a whole lot easier. In the early waves you will probably want to run 4 drones and 1 ticker. (A single ticker at the start, more on later waves is very helpful to clear out the fences at the entrance of the COG base.) Try to not die too much so as to save cash. If you are down to one human who is DBNO, feel free to destroy sentries/turrets/etc for extra cash. If they are a hero beware as they will self revive after a time (normal stranded will just bleed out). As soon as you can one person should be a kantus and spam heals while hiding behind cover. As you unlock boomers, you should gradually transition to at least 3 boomers and 1 kantus. The 5th slot works well with a serapede or a 4th boomer. Pummel the humans from long range. They will usually take 2 shots, 1 to down and 1 to kill. If you time it right you can often down a would-be reviver w/the 2nd shot as well. The serapede is low to the ground, fast, and well armored, excellent for killing downed enemies. Don’t be tempted by the berserkers, they will be cut down in no time, especially against the onyx guards in wave 12. The kantus can upgrade to armored if money allows. As long as you don’t die too much, money should not be too much of an issue. Your greatest danger is COG overrunning your spawn in the close quarters. It may take several tries, but each attempt is quick so it will hopefully be yours before long.
The main grind after that will be getting 75 High Roller medals. The quickest way to rack these up is to play with one other person or with a 2nd idle controller. If playing with another person, one of you should switch to Kantus ASAP to maximize your income. If playing solo, I’d probably just stick to the drone until you unlock tier 3 and then switch to the corpser. It’s combination of AoE attack, armor, and healing is great for soloing. As the drone, if you have the opportunity, destroy turrets, decoys, and sentries, walls are just not worth the time it takes. As corpse you can destroy walls pretty well also. You need to earn about $7750 to reach the final tier, and you need to spawn in as a 4th tier locust at least once. It will probably take you until wave 5 or 6 to unlock it solo and maybe a tiny bit longer as a duo. In the course of doing that 75 times you will have no trouble whatsoever killing 1100 humans. If you need to work on dismantler (which you most likely will as you need to average 40 destroyed fortification per each of your 75 runs), you can switch to a berserker and keep going until you run out of cash. It may not be worth your time continuing after wave 9, as the flame sentries start to appear, which makes the life of a Berserker much less pleasant. But you will probably be able to rack up close to 100 in just a couple of waves as the berserker. If you are down to one human, down them and just go on a rampage destroying everything in sight. By the time you are done with the above you should have more than enough cash for the $1M. You can bang out the remaining waves by just repeating the 1st 3 or 4, or sit there while someone else works on their medals. The only remaining one is healing 1500 teammates.
You can obviously get this by joining a public game, being a Kantus, and spamming heals. A good solo option is to get yourself 2 xboxes and 4 controllers. Get to at least wave 2 on Mercy (you can just keep repeating wave 2 and failing to get to tier 2) and tier 2. Spawn the other 3 controllers in as butchers and run them into the little L shaped stone area near your spawn. You can then keep healing them as the humans shoot them, and if you feel like it, take down a few humans to extend your time. Once you get down to two humans, just let the timer run out, and repeat. Each wave takes just barely over a minute and can probably get you 25-50 heals.
IDLE BOOST SKUNKERS IN GEARS OF WAR 3
THE METHOD:
- Sign in a PLAYER 2 (wich is just turning on a controller and pressing the Y button in the main menu) or sign in a GUEST either will work.
- Game type :EXECUTION
- Rounds to win: 2
- Round time limit: 1 MINUTE
- Number of bots: FILL
- Bot difficulty: INSANE
- Classic stale mates: OFF
- Friendly Fire: OFF
- Make sure you and your PLAYER 2 or GUEST are on DIFFERENT TEAMS
- Set ALL the weapon pickups to: BOOMSHOT
- When the game is counting down to start the match remove BOTH battery packs in the two controllers so game will not pause on its own when controller times out (turns off)
EXPLANATION / NOTES:
- This method will net you between 30 and 60 skunkers a night (while you sleep) depending on how long you leave your box on, and how lucky you are because your team needs to sweep the other team without your help.
- This works because you turn off classic stalemates and the bots run to the boomshots and end up killing a few people before the TIME RUNS OUT (it is set to one minute) and the team with more people alive after the one minute showdown of insane bots with boomshots receives a victory. the only way there is a stalemate is if the teams have the same amount of people alive at the end of one minute which rarely happens, and if it does big whoop its one minute wasted and has NO effect on victories it just loads another round and continues the cycle.
- I posted this solution because THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO IDLE BOOST SKUNKERS EFFECTIVELY, and I came up with it myself because there are no other solutions on how to idle boost skunkers so I got creative and it works great. I know it doesnt give you a tonne of skunkers, but some are better than none, and no effort is required. It also prevents you from needing to join a tonne of gaming sessions and works while you sleep!!
- I HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE; IT HELPED ME ALOT AND IT IS THE METHOD I USED TO GET THE MAJORITY OF MY SKUNKERS

For wingman boosting. If u setup 2 controllers put you and your 2nd controller on one team. Vs 2 bots. Leave it to idle. In a 24 hour period you will get 200 matches played so to finish wingman will take you roughly 15 days to finish. Not bad if u dont really want to play for them. Hope this helps you ought.
WINGMAN BOOSTING
Wingman is the longest medal in gears of war 3 you have to play 3000 matches and 6000 rounds of it. Every match of wingman has to be 2 rounds or more the highest score you can get in a round is 7.
Wingman boosting there is 2 ways to boost this.
1. Have a party of 4 people including yourself with second controllers or party of 8 now doing it this way you can earn yourself ,firstblood ribbons ,MVP ribbons, Skunker ribbons,Button up ribbons only if its a full match.
2. have a party of 4 with 2 of them having second controllers and having no bots on. So you should only have six players in the game.
Now the fastest way to boost this is to have 2 people on the same team going to the spawns doing it with method 2. You can end a round in 14 - 24 second a round with 2 people going at once there will only be 1 spawn each for them look at your second controller to look for the spawns . method 1 with 2 people going will take about 25 - 47 second a round. The 2 people that are killing will get the Skunker ribbons only if there team gets all the kills.
Weapons for wingman boosting.
The fastest weapons to use is the Gnasher and Retro Lancer
if you have your retro and the gnasher done lancer is best. Hammer burst ,Sawed-off shogun will only make this longer for you.
Doing method 1 will take about 4 - 5 hours for a 100 matches played. Doing method 2 will take about 3 - 4 hours for a 100 match played only if 2 people go at the same time.
hope this guide helps out :)

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but I found a good way to boost a few medals on your own. This method focuses mainly on the medic, skunker and hard target medal and the others just come with it.
Start up a private warzone, 2 rounds, 3 mins, friendly fire on, fill casual bots, 60 sec bleed out, and all weapons smokes (or a weapon of your choice, I was going for pistol kills so wasn't necessary). Start with retro and melee or shoot your team down and revive them for medic (8 revives a round). After reviving twice kill so eventually its you left, this gives you last man standing (hard target medal), then kill the enemy team however you like but on the last enemy, leave him down and spot him until the last second then kill him. Repeat for round two which nets you 1 towards skunker and also a warzone game played.
If done flawlessly this method nets you the following per game:
16 revives (2 retro bullets and a melee downs quickest)
2 first blood ribbon (shock trooper medal)
10 kills ( your choice of method)
1 last man out ribbon (hard target medal)
1 warzone game
1 skunk ( if you win 2-0)
1 MVP ribbon
Roughly 20 spots (if the last enemy is in view at the start of sudden death)
I dont do many solutions so hope this helps guys!

For Vengeful
i did it in a 1v5 weapons boosting session
you get to execute your nemeses 23 times when they are going for there 600 kills
another 23 for the other player when they go for their 600 thats 46 executions on your nemeses in one session that you were doing already

Apr8-2016
My guide is the best methods IVE personally found. I say that from hours to potentially days of looking up ideas and methods for each and every single method for all 65 medals I'm not gonna repost exactly the contents but exactly what is the best/easiest/fastest way to get each and every single onyx (also please note this is my first solution so please be gentle)
I also hope you the reader understands all you need is the rank 100 and all 65 onyx's, no lvl100 in GoW2, beta medal etc. This is also I guess if you want to can call it an Xbox one guide too if you happen to have both a X1 and 360 this will be A LOT easier. I personally have 9 left and it's almost mid April 2016
Vengeful-Execute 100 Nemeses:
2 Controller Method, King of the Hill, Mercy Map, Weapons Default, now I can't remember if you have to have full teams I don't beileve so but just load up those settings (longest and biggest score times always implied!!!) and have the guest kill your main account 5 times in a row, run over down the guest afterwards and Execute him, it's pretty straight forward takes only about 2hrs ish
Captor-Kill 1000 Enemies with a captive:
Mercy map, solo, full teams, King of the hill, weapons set to all gorgon, bots casual, now just pick up a gorgon downing enemies making sure to press X to pick them up carry your new friend around the map trying to use the gorgon to down quickly any enemies and if your meat shield is about gone one of those new downed enemy's can replace him (this method I used 1000 was like 4hrs tops of gorgon downing plus any slip ups count towards pistol kills :)) also you can do all Boltok and work on headshots but I personally had 1/10 headshot Boltok kills which sound great but if you want JUST this medal, gorgon sweep then
War Supporter-Play in 30 Gears Events:
I made new accounts and tried this and for whatever reason you should always receive 29/30 idk why exactly and I played just a casual TDM online and got 30 really not sure what's going on with this but I also beileve that if you are having trouble getting the 30 play in each online playlist till the bar starts moving
MVP- Earn 500 MVP ribbons:
Okay even if you are the worst of the worst there's a 100 ways to get this I mean ANYONE is better than bots in a local private match will come with time, hey if your reading this and WANT S3 then this will come naturally, but if your just plane insane and want this grinded quickly as possible load up gridlock replace longshot with HoD or Boomshot, whatever your good with 2 rounds and go to town on some casual bots, or even mercy and replace the digger and torque spawn with X weapon all I can say if you want JUST this, full teams too
Field Service: Reach Level 100:
....what do you want me to say the exp alone for everyother onyx will put you easily at 150 total, the medal can only be onyx'ed once I mean really if you want S3 you'll get this don't need a guide, again if you want to grind this SKUNK on gridlock helps a ton even by rank 90's it goes really fast (I put the method for this in the skunking solution)
Veteran- Play 4000 Matches:
Again if your going for S3 you'll get this at least 4-5 times over, as in 4-5 of this same onyx, AGAIN if you want just this medal and grind it out seek the warzone or execution idle grind method listed under the warzone and execution onyx medals below
Match Winner- Win 3000 matches:
Ugh again naturally you'll get this, even idle boosting the bots will win this at least 2 times over, if you really wanna grind some wins, again I recommend skunking, 2birds 1stone kinda thing, skunking method listed below
Headshot- 4000 Headshots:
I found a few different ways plus the way the community likes to play I have 3 options; 1. Mercy, KotH weapons all longshots no bots but 2 controllers account and guest, neat little trick take the main account fill up on longshot go to wine cellar/House of the map (on one side of the fountain) sit basically were the horde flag would be if it was horde (idk how to post a pic but you can look it up yourself it's easy to figure out what I mean) park there with longshot in hand now if the 2Controller is anywhere BUT top of the fountain move him there now head shot him, you might have to move him around till eventually he will continue to spawn at the top of the fountain, you can also shift left for more ammo but do not leave the spot, this is not the greatest method it seems to be unreliable at times plus going from 0-4000 would take at least 10hrs of this; 2. (My method) Boltok all spawns KotH with a actual 2nd player all bots and make sure u and friend are on same team, now P2 will hate it but let him travel with P1 downing EVERY enemy then P1 mopping up the down with a Boltok headshot these are about every 1/3 times it works AT THE LEAST I'm doing pistols and headshots together and I recommend that; 3. Is just simply people having full bots 1 person and all longshots and just trying your best to score headshots, again I recommend Boltok and headshots together cause if you figure it 6000 pistols and half of those will be headshots and that's if you have a bad aim
Heavy Weapons- 6000 Heavy Weapon Kills:
Skunk skunk skunk skunk skunk, warzone: 2-10-fill-casual-60-off-after pickup settings-gridlock-weapons off, longshot spawn is oneshot, (now people say mulcher, NO wildly misses them, Mortar yeah but you have to stand out from the lip of the building unless you wanna kill yourself) Oneshot is best I grab park agaisnt the wall (to work on Cover onyx) aim and get at least 2 doubles and a single kill, I get a 5 for 1 often too which hey 20 sec rounds with that can't beat it, repeat for another round then game ends you just got at least 5 kills (if your a terrible shot or bad day, u know) or at most 10 kills/a skunk/ and a cover match done, also you could do mercy and put on all mulchers, mortars, oneshot but it feels more like a hellfire match from every angle but that's me, if you want that instead, mercy KotH fill bots all weapons set to X, 15 rounds, could also do my 2player downing and P1 gets the kill method
Explosives- 6000 Explosive kills:
Boomshot or Torque, frags if your a maniac, I did mercy all boomshots 15 rounds fill casual bots and grinded it out, although you can do my skunk method on gridlock and use a boomshot/Torque instead, I recommend saving it for skunks, trust me you'll have the time
Finisher- 6000 Executions:
Seek my curbstomp onyx below that's a free 3000 right there, so for the other 3000 mercy fill bots KotH I say lancer chainsaw kills just to get lancer onyx going and this youll definitely get it that way, I did the 2player method P2 downs I run in gnasher execution is very short (holding Y with gnasher) or P2 downs and P1 chainsaw kills, if you want more work for P2 though
Skunker- 2500 Skunks:
Private>Warzone>2-10-fill-casual-60-off-after pickup>gridlock>all weapons off
Set longshot spawn to:
Oneshot -Heavy Onyx
Boomshot - Explosive Onyx
HoD - Pyro Onyx
Longshot - Headshot
You can also work on pistols and 5 starter weapons if you really want, I didn't though, I got the main 4 done then left it HoD that is the fastest kills you can get make sure after picking up whatever replaced the longshot spawn that you take cover on a wall while the enemy team Mickey funnels towards you, also working on your 600 cover onyx, and that's matchs btw, I did some run and times and basically with this if you stay on it you can get about 100 skunks every 4hrs, me and a friend are doing 10 days of 8hrs skunking for 2000 skunks, so you can figure your time accordingly, make sure on cog or locust your a femal character if you still need that onyx, can spot enemy's too if you need that, also while doing this you will get:
Match winner onyx
MVP onyx
Heavy Onyx
Explosive Onyx
Cover Onyx
Pyro Onyx
5 Starter weapon onyx (if you choose lancer Etc)
Pistol onyx (if you choose very hard though)
Shock Trooper onyx
Battle Mistress Onyx
Special Teams Onyx
Spotter Onyx
This is 1 of the 2 worst onyx's but this one can definitely earn you a lot if you plan accordingly
Leader: 300 Untouchable ribbons:
Don't get captured while playing as leader there's a cool little trick to make sure in game 2 and beyond you will always be leader there is a post about it above mine with details very easier 2 controller method, simple load up any map 1 round casual bots make P2 do the work of capturing the other leader or if you don't want to do that capture the leader as leader to work on abductor onyx too more ballsy but easy if your good, also the idle method 2 controller 1 on each team with a bot on each team, bots on insane you have a 50/50 shot of your bot killing the other pot and capturing poor P2 (I did this worked amazingly) mind you 1 round matches though
Abductor: Capture 500 leaders:
Can be done alone but easier with a 2nd person load up checkout 15 rounds full bots u and P2 same team just rush to the enemy leader down and capture them the P2 element is just back up or if the bots wanna get fun and toss smokes, I say checkout instead of mercy just cause checkout has more cover Incase you get shot etc plus make sure you have low capture time
Assistant: 5000 assist earned:
Best and fastest method have a friend work on a starter gun on mercy full bots u and friend same team down, put a few bullets in them spot but has to lead to a kill pretty simple really the fastest way besides naturally
Medic: revive 1200 teammates:
Can earn naturally but why do that when you can grind! There's a cool video on YouTube basically you go to sandbar (biggest difference between spawns) insane full pots on CTL just gnash and revive your leader LIKE CRAZY you can do it really fast just grind it out like I said if you need a visual tutorial just look up the medal on YouTube
Cover: 600 Buttoned Up ribbons:
Earned by spending the most time in cover I mentioned this in my skunking method, best method and fits perfectly within that onyx but again if you need JUST this load up gridlock no weapon spawns longshot is HoD sit in cover and aim out and blow the enemy team up has to be full bots and at least 2 rounds on warzone
Active Reloader: 25000 active reloads:
Can sit there on KotH Fire a shot with each gun then active reload if you wanna grind really hard, everyone really gets it naturally when going for any other weapon onyx's no worries really, it took me forever to get it but now I have almost 50,000 and about 9 onyx's from seriously so don't worry
Lancer: 6000 Lancer kills:
Mercy-2 players full teams of bots, both players on same team all weapons set to Lancer, have P2 down and P1 get the kill, KotH 15 rounds, really best method and best map to do this
Hammerburst: 6000 Hammerburst kills:
Seek Lancer strangely replace guns with hammerburst
Retro Lancer: 6000 Retro Kills:
Seek lancer strategy replace guns with retro
Gnasher: 6000 gnasher kills:
Seek lancer strategy replace guns with gnasher
Sawed off: 6000 sawed off kills:
Seek lancer strategy replace guns with sawed off
Pistols: 6000 pistol kills:
Seek Headshot onyx medal with the Boltok best method by far, captor will be 1000 kills already into this, can do lancer strategy but with gorgons if you want it done fast paced
Spotter: spot 12000 enemy's:
Mentioned in skunker onyx, pretty easy just keep clicking the left thumb stick every 5seconds over a enemy and you'll get it, if you really wanna grind (like I did) mercy 1v1 2 controller KotH rubber band LT on P1 controller and keep clicking left thumb stick, ruined my control I and thumbs do not suggest but this is an option
Pyro: 3000 pyro kills:
Your thinking flamethrower wrong your not a flame grenadier your someone who has nothing better to do than earn the worlds hardest achievement (eventually) just do the skunking method ALWAYS use HoD fasted Pyro kills
Sapper: destroy 1000 enemy grendades:
I think i did 1 online legitly anyway for the other 999 2 players only KotH all spawns to flame gernades have P2 pick them up plant them with some space between them to not set the other one off by accident P1 will shoot each planted gernade, really easy there's a popular YouTube video about this too super easy onyx
Guardian: rescue 1200 leaders in CTL:
2 players 1 per team and P1 and bot VS P2 load up a CTL game 2 round longest settings time length insane bot and friendly fire on, basically u want the bot to be leader have P2 capture your leader then punch him till leader drops, when bot leader gets back up retro or punch till your own leader is downed have P2 pick up rinse and repeat takes a bit but best method, we did it on mercy btw
CTL: 3000 CTL matches:
Set up single round insane bot, 1 bot verses you no weapons can delete DLC maps for better maps and quicker matches, you can even do 2 insane bots agaisnt you idle boosting, pretty easy should only take a couple days to get onyx
KotH: 3000 KotH matches:
60 score-1 round-2 insane bots agaisnt just you idle boosting no weapons can also delete DLC maps for faster matches
Warzone: 3000 Warzone matches:
Do 500 matches with 1 round 2 insane bots verses you idle boosting no weapons very easy, I say 500 cause the other 2500 wil be from skunking, but again if you want just this then same method but longer obviously
Execution: 3000 Execution matches:
1 round-10min-2 insane bots agaisnt just you idle boosting- no weapons can delete DLC maps too pretty simple
Team Deathmatch: 3000 TDM Matches:
10 respawns-1 round- fill insane bots-bleed out 60- friendly fire ON!!!-after pickup- all weapons boomshots, the friendly fire got me more matches played a ton more like I had 120 every 12hrs now with FF I get 200 every 12hrs helps a ton cause bots kill themselves or teammates etc. you will on average earn about 1000 last man out too that's what I got about too
Wingman: 3000 wingman matches:
10-3-2-insane-60-off- no weapons- delete all DLC maps too- put you and a 2nd controller on the same COG team make sure bots are on a COG team too, Y? Cause the teams spawn closer to Eachother and bots can kill you idling faster best method sadly this is worst than skunking IMO but really this and skunking are just the worst 2 onyxs
All Fathers: onyx all game modes:
Technically worse than wingman you need at least 18,000 matches played between all game types this is were you earn the veteran onyx 4-5 times over
Master at arms: onyx all 5 starting weapons:
Lancer, hammerburst, retro, gnasher and sawed off all need onyx medals it's a stack medal
Rifleman: onyx all 3 starting rifles:
Lancer, hammerburst, retro, personally I hate the hammerburst but got it last out of the 5 so it's a nice stack if you think of it that way, earning hammerburst rifle and master medals all at the same time
Hard Target: 3000 Last man out
Have to have full teams to work right best thing is when grinding out all fathers should at least get 1-1500 of these out of the 3000 best method is warzone insane bots full teams boomshots all spawns and hope they destroy your team, the idle way, if not and you already have rank 400 or don't care about XP then load up warzone causal fill bots all weapons flame gernades gnasher your whole team then go get a flame gernade and kill your self or take out the team like in true clutch fashion
Shock Tropper: 3000 first bloods:
Earned on full teams per ROUND just load up any map can even cycle them on warzone all Boomshot or whatever gun you like and get the first kill, that's the grind method really you'll earn this if you follow my skunking guide
Old schooler: 3000 curb stomps:
Like every other gun have a 2nd person down bots on mercy full casual teams and Tap Y to get this pretty much it no real fast way
Battle mistress: 1000 matches played as female:
Easy while doing all fathers put your presets to Myrrah and Anya the idle gave me 15 of these onyx'ed and I still need all of wingman
Sovereign: win 500 CTL rounds as leader:
Do the trick so you can be leader put it to one round per game and insane full team bots and hope your team takes out there leader before you, on my way to 3000 CTL I earned this onyx twice shouldn't be a problem
Special teams: 6000 map based weapon kills:
Should be earned with skunking and other medals can't really boost this without doing other medals, wanted with explosives medal etc
For the horde: all 50 waves completed on insane:
You highly need a full 5 person team and 2hrs to do this try over pass and camp the bridge was our best technique having the super reload and infinite ammo mutator really evens the field plus the super reload if done right is a damage boost too I also had comet on for those tight situations u can run around a bit without taking damage and try to regroup or get some breathing room
Horder: complete 2000 horde waves:
That's COMPLETE as in beat the wave, 50 waves is about 2hrs just play the game sadly all I can really say no fast way maybe smaller maps like mercy to see all the spawns and kill faster really bout it
Architect: 300 founder ribbon:
Basically you have to establish 300 bases not the ones that cost $ but the first free one, 300 times keep playing if it's your last horde medal keep loading up horde buying the first base then leave and repeat till you get it
Squad leader: point man 500 times:
Will come with the 2000 waves if not just have a empty 2nd controller camp somewhere while P1 does the work
Field engineer: 1000 fortifications modifications:
Fast way build a turret have about 500$ have a friend hop on the turret and continue to shoot it during the 30sec round break while tapping Y to repair and replenish the ammo adds up fast
Big money: earn 5,000,000mil in horde:
Will come with the 2000 waves if not then play from 1-49 by yourself kill everything in 49 but the last enemy have him kill you and keep repeating 49 cash will add up faster, pretty easy super time consuming
Loot Courtesan: 100 challenges completed:
The bonus objectives are pretty easy you'll get this with the 2000 waves if not just keep playing and making sure you do them
I'm a beast: complete all 12 waves of beat on insane without failing:
Get a good team of 5 and try using 2 people using tickers then maulers, 2 people doing drones then kantus/savage grenadier and one person misc save the beserkers for 12 if you can but wave 11 and 12 be best to save them for, the ticker team will work on the clock by eating fortifications while the others kill/heal really the best tip mercy and checkout are the best maps
Beastly: complete 600 waves of beast:
Pretty easy will come naturally from playing no boost or grind just play beast mode or stack it with other medals
Motivator: heal/revive 1500 teammates in beast:
Kantus and armored kantus work for this medal just another one that takes time if you wanna sped it up can have your teammates get hurt more often
Dismantler: destroy 3000 fortifications:
Just about anything can destroy a fort. Beserkers are best when holding LB you can see all structures just go out and break stuff
Ruthless: kill 1100 enemy's:
Simple will get this before the 600 waves if not just keep playing can't really farm the AI
Investor: earn 1,000,000mil in beast:
Again will naturally get it, if you want it ASAP play beast by yourself on mercy or checkout and destroy everything and kill everyone that way you get all the cash
High roller: ready for the heavy ribbon 75 times:
Oddly enough this is online only you have to unlock the final tier 75 times just play online it's straight forward enough
King of COG: earn 7,500,000 in arcade:
Fast boost insane on act 3 chapter 1 has the most and fastest potential for kills can put on infinite ammo and super reload plus a hard mutator for even more points
Number 1: #1 in arcade 240 times:
Load up you and a local p2 on the flying barge level of act 2 have P1 do all the kills pretty easy
Warmonger: arcade campaign on insane:
Pretty easy straight forward you should do it with a team and have easy mutators on, HOWEVER the fight with myrrah do it by yourself in arcade, we figured out the more real players agaisnt her the more health she had on the tower so last chapter is best played alone
Force multiplier: maintain max multiplier for 100 chapters of arcade:
Just finished the level in arcade with a blue 10 doesn't matter difficulty do that 10 times easy
Survivalist: 240 chapters comply edge without dying:
Load up act 2 chapter 2 when the next cut scene plays hit last checkpoint from the pause menu, a whole 240 times yes but it's easy
Aficionado: play 500 arcade chapters:
easy with the 240 for survivalist medal, can keep doing that or play the campaign, over and over
Doorman: manipulate 2000 objects:
After you wake up in the begging of the game you'll find a piano before talking to Anya, play it 2000 times with X button, music to my ears!
Tour of Duty: complete campaign on insane:
Just the regular game no arcade beat on insane lil old school with watching ammo again but straight forward best with full team of people
That was my seriously 3.0 guide as of April 2016 I hope you guys don't hate it again this was my first guide this is my 5th year of working on seriously 3 hope to have it soon and hope my guide was helpful and maybe a little funny, and also forgot to mention the idle boosting matches with a X1 you can watch tv or play Gears UE while leaving ur 360 to idle gow3 any tips or suggestions love to hear them thanks :)
A video guide, I did my best to give pointers for all metals.
For Capture the Leader
2 people can get a bunch of medals each. Set the game to 1 round bots fill and weapons disabled with a bleed-out time of 20 or so. And capture time to 10.
Person A will get the following medals:
Captor if killing while (capturing)
MVP
Veteran
Match Winner
Capture the Leader
Shock Trooper
Abductor
Person B will get the following medals
Leader
Sovereign
Cover (if always entering cover)
Person A will invite person B to lobby and start. Almost every match 9/10 on average, Player B will be the leader. It is just like the guest method, except nothing is being wasted.
For Guardian Medals
Set the match to
15 Rounds
Max capture time
NO BOTS
You will need 2 people and a guest for this. Player A plays as the COG player with a guest as the COG Leader. Player B plays as the Locust Leader. The COG team will (from the spawn) look immediately left. there should be a 6ft indent in the wall right before the map opens up. Have the COG Leader stand face pressed against the corner farthest from you. The Locust Leader will stand right behind the COG Leader facing his back. The COG Player stand outside the indent directly facing the right side of the COG Leader. Using the retro lancer the COG Player keeps meleeing the COG Leader (2 hits per down) and the Locust Leader keeps capturing the COG Leader and the COG Player keeps hitting the COG Leader while being held by the Locust leader (be sure not to damage the Locust Leader.
(This method is far easier with turbo controllers, but in no way required).
The two players with quickly get the following medals and when you are done, just swap.
COG Leader- GUEST
COG Player- Guardian
Locust Leader- Finisher progress equal to the Guardian requirements for rescues.

.....IDLE SKUNKERS.....
this method requires at least 4 players being idle (can use 5 but is slower) but i used a 2nd box which helps alot as 1 person will have to get nothing in each session.....
SETTINGS
-Capture the leader
-Bots set to fill
-Bot set to insane
-time 2 minutes, ( for some reasons bots spaz around, it easier to finish the round than wait 10 min for the bot to realise what he has to do)
-IMPORTANT- Ensure no weapon sapwns, as bots will run to them constantly
-it also helps if the host delete the dlc maps as they add alot of bigger confusing maps.
-select 1 host to host all the time (Best connection)
-Leave it idle over night and get 15-20 games an hour..
4 Player Method
-all 4 people will need a guest...
-designate which order that 1 of you will not get anything... 1 person a night etc.
-make sure all main accounts have a play and charge kit or do the disconnect method at the correct time....
1st, the 3 players that are going to win (skunkers) shoul all place thier main account on the cog team and thier guests on the locust team....
This leaves 2 spots on locust team where your designated loser and his guest will fill up the locust team.
......COG TEAM...............................LOCUST TEAM.......
Player 1 main.............................Player 1 guest
player 2 main.............................Player 2 guest
player 3 main.............................Player 3 guest
Insane A.I...................................Player 4 main ( LOSER)
Insane A.I...................................Player 4 guest
It is definatly faster to do the 4 player method as the A.I feels better with a second bot giving him back up, espeacially if he manages to get to be the leader...
If ypu have a 5th person you can always have him sign with his main with NO GUEST and put him on the COG team.. But this will slow your skunk ratio down...
Tip.....
If you do not own a play and charge kit, you can disconect your battery at the correct time to ensure you dont get idle kicked..
When the first match finished there will be 2 count downs in the top right.
-1st to find the next map for the next game
-2nd, for that said map ^^^ to start the actual game.
we want to act right in the middle as you have about 3 second of no count down load, this is when you remove your battery and it will not ask you to reconect..
hope this helps out with skunkers and save a lot of boring grinding while a group of you sleep...

Let me start by saying, I know this game is old and almost all efficient boosting ways have been found. But I have not found what I am about to post. Although some might have figured it out but I haven't seen anything posted about it.
I've figured out a way to boost Medic (revive 1200 squadmates) and guardian (rescue 1200 leaders in CTL). You can also work on spots while doing these.
Edit 1- Below is a way to boost destroying fortifications while earning money in beast
This method requires one of two things. A second Xbox and copy of the game or a buddy who's willing to do this with you. Also a second controller for either Xbox or you or your friend. I've been doing this solo so I'll keep it to that.
Sign in a guest on either Xbox as it doesn't matter which one. Obviously your main account and on the other Xbox, another account that has gold if your on the 360.
First will be Guardian
Load up a private CTL on overpass, 15 rounds, 60 capture time, 5 bleed out and friendly fire ON. Have your main account and the guest or secondary on one team. The other on the other team. You will have to capture the enemy leader the first round so your guest/secondary is leader the second round. Have your main run to the turret located on the bridge, place your leader against the sand bags and on the edge. Then have the enemy leader next to your leader. Down your leader, pick up with the enemy leader then spray in that direction to have them release your leader. Rinse and repeat. You can have one hand on one controller and the other hand on the other controller. It will take some time and finesseing to get it to where you can smoothly shoot, pick up, drop, shoot, pick up, drop. The round will end eventually so you'll have to capture the enemy leader again to make your secondary leader again. But this is the fastest solo method I've found. My best was around 90 rescues before the round ended.
Now for Medic
Almost the same setup up. But turn friendly fire off, capture time doesn't matter, 15 rounds, CTL on overpass. This time have the enemy controller get on the turret, your leader by the sandbags and you by your leader. Simply down your leader and press to revive them. I rubber banded my controller that was shooting and just constantly press with your main. You will rack up the revival really fast this way. I did this method over a year ago so I don't remember how many revives per round I was getting. But doing it this way makes this onyx medal one of the quickest to earn.
The reason I mentioned spotter is because you could work on them, but it requires you to aim in order to spot. That could slow things up while doing these. So do that at your own risk.
Below is a method if you have a buddy. Info was given to me by XBox Assassin83. Thank you for the info.
Play until you unlock the berserker, keep playing until wave 12. From there destroy any and all fortifications then simply let the timer run out. Rinse and repeat. I needed about 1000 more and finished it in about an hour, that's from wave 1 to 12 then replayed wave 12 3 or 4 times and got the onyx. This is way faster than finishing wave 12 and restarting. This method is also good if you need investor onyx.
Hope this helps some. Thanks for reading.
Any suggestions or tips for a better method would be useful and I would implement them in the solution if it helps.

Leader Rescues
Basically you go CTL on Checkout, all spawns Gnasher, Bleedout time minimum, FF On.... go Team 1 with your 2nd controller as leader, second live player as leader on Team 2. Place Team 1's Leader in corner and stand next to as both. Just keep shooting and capturing the leader as Team 2 (every capture counts as execution too!) As Team 1, as soon as Team 2 grabs (captures your leader) fire point blank gnasher which gives you the rescue immediately and won't kill the Capturer. Both will pop right up due to minimum bleedout and the fact they are leaders. Rinse and repeat and grab ammo as needed
Medic
Same setup as above except Team 2 Don't capture the leader and let Team 1 immediately revive his leader, these go as fast as you can shoot and revive! 2 hours or less from 0 to onyx.

A video guide that shows you how to get all the Onyx medals. The video quality isn’t great, due to it being a very old guide, but this helped me earn a fair chunk of the medals.

Hope it helps you as well.

Everyone reading this... nowadays we could use xCloud, I recommend to use it for All fathers medal, if you have an old phone or device you could set low brightness, keep charging and once you start a match, you make a xbox live party and that is all, it would be avoiding to be quitted of xcloud.
For anyone idling boosting in the modern year and finding their gains low, UNINSTALL THE FORCES OF NATURE AND FENIX RISING DLCS.
While some of the maps that are part of them are fine for the most part, maps like Academy are HUGE and trust me, with them gone, idling modes like Wingman is a thousand times easier. I didnt uninstall the Booster/Horde command map packs because i heard that they may cause potential issues, but even without doing that Ive pretyy much doubled my idle boosting progress.

I have a method for Guardian that is pretty effective and doesn't require much besides either 2 xbox's or a friend + 1 guest for a total of 3 players.
METHOD:
1.) Player 1 (you) and one other on one team (if with friend put guest on your team)
2.) Your friend/second console on the other
3.) Game Settings:
Map Overpass
Capture time 60
Friendly fire on
4.) Start the match and have everyone head up to the turret
5.) You get on the turret if your not leader (if you are capture yourself and start the next round)
6.) Place your AFK player in front of turret
7.) Place your opponet (Friend/second console) behind your leader
8.) Start firing the turret and press X and A together on the controller for your second console. If you have a friend helping this would be their job. (You press a to get up faster than the AFK leader and get a quick pickup before instantly downing the other leader)
9.) Rinse and repeat.
I haven't made a video yet because I have to install my capture card drivers later tonight and get it all hooked up. But once I do I'll up a video.
