**UPDATE**

Epic now gives you 29/30 events on all characters within the game. Play one event as defined below (play a public match of any game type) and you will get the achievement. I have tested this with a new account and was able to get the achievement.

**Archived Information**
In order to earn the Socialite Achievement you are required to play in 30 seperate & unique Gears of War 3 Events. The events so far have followed a pattern of every week and cycle the same 35 (or so) events. If you have already won the ribbon or played that event you will not get another ribbon or get credit for that event. Some of the events are shown on the Calendar & Events on the main menu, but Epic does not seem to update this page on a regular basis. During most events, you only need to play a quick, ranked or private match (Beast, Horde or Multiplayer) resulting in receiving a ribbon for that event. It is no longer required to play a specific playlist.

Important Notes:
The events cycle, don't know right now if it is random.
If you received the ribbon for an event, you cannot get it again.
Events 1-35 is the original list I created of cycling events (Main Events).

Listed are the past events, I will no longer keep this updated do to the lack of structure and order that Epic is providing.

Great guide. Keep up the awesome list. Some of my friends had chalked up more events than me so I thought I'd missed an event or two but I'm totally up to date... they obviously got a few extra notches thanks to the old glitch.

I've been pretty up-to-date with the list and check several other places to compare lists. While I'm pretty sure I got them all I may have missed one.

They did have several issues with the event counting more than once, so that might be why you have more.

So I just noticed I wasn't getting credit for Stranded and didn't get credit for Triple Team and Gearsmas III eventhough the ribbons unlocked. At this point my count is local count is 14, so I still believe that this event is #16 but I cannot for sure say it 100% is.

I had to load up my backed-up cloud storage save before it would give me credit for Stranded.

Anyone know why the get gnashy even isnt giving me a count for the medal? I played 2 ranked and 2 quick matches in both the get gnashy playlist and tthe koth one that.requires new dlc. I was not able to get into the playlist because I was missing content, and when I would select A for download it would just sit there. However, when I played a standard TDM, I received the Get Gnashty! medal right after my match.

Getting Socialite is becoming the hardest achievement in the game, I played all events and only have 17 ribbons. It's very inconsistent, you play and play these events, you might get credit, you might not. Some people even reported getting the onyx medal just playing this weekend, I can't get one ribbon let alone getting multiple credits. Messed up.

For those like me that don't have the DLC, just play a round through the the Player's Choice playlist. You won't necessarily play anything relating to the details of the event (weapon limitations, etc.), but you should still get the ribbon. I've got it three weeks in a row through this method.

you have to play a game of versus and finish the game to get the ribbon..before you play look at your war supporter medal and see how many you have then play a game once the game is over go back to your medal and see if it's gone up 1....

@summit chaser The ribbon is broken for me as well. I tried doing a regular TDM match twice and the ribbon didn't unlock, then I did a round of the Raven Down 24/7 on Forces of Nature and again it didn't unlock. I have 29/30 ribbons unlocked for the achievement too.

If this is correct, you can only earn a ribbon once. So when they do repeat events, you can add ANOTHER sodding week to this miserable achievement. ANOTHER sodding week of playing 10 round shotguns with a bunch of racist foul mouthed 11 year olds.

it sounds like when they said "restart the cycle" they're restarting the ribbons in chronological order. Which means this week's ribbon is "Welcome Back", which was the first ribbon available when the game launched. In theory, this means it could take MONTHS before the ribbons you need become available if you've missed the later ones and not the earlier ones.

No way whatsoever that I can tell, other than having a really really good memory. The problem is not the event, but the actual Ribbon Name you'd have to remember. I only remember the Launch Ribbon was called "Welcome Back" because of that thread I linked to where someone mentioned that.

I started writing the ribbon names down when I started playing events just because I was expecting this kind of problem. Fortunately for me, I started playing at ribbon #25 Gnashers 4 lyfe, and it's the earlier events I need. Unfortunately, who can tell which ribbon is available that week unless they don't have it already? They're apparently going to cycle random ribbons and game modes, so who the hell knows what ribbon will be available.

Also, what kind of arbitrary limit is 36? That doesn't coincide with any integer width at all -- a 4 bit width is 15 items at most, and the next step is 127 events at minimum. There's no reason they couldn't enumerate at least three times more events in a database.

Dunno if anyone's said it yet, but this is NOT true. You earn the ribbons from any match, you don't have to actually do the event specific one. I just got Gears 3 a month ago, and I don't have any DLC so I haven't technically done any of the events... but just by playing Beast, Horde, or Private matches I managed to get my Bronze medal yesterday.

@Twistedsymphony: At the risk of sounding like one of the a-hole mods on the Epic forums, you already have that particular ribbon. There are 35 (or 36) event ribbons. After the 35th or so ribbon, they restarted the cycle. We are currently on the 7th or 8th ribbon. You already have that particular event's ribbon.

You cannot re-earn an event's ribbon.

Which is complete and utter BS. They stopped at 35 created ribbons. Should've at the very MINIMUM, gone to 60 ribbons before restarting. So, just keep playing a game a week. I personally, just have about 2 more weeks of auto-running matches before I'm at 64 / 65 Onyx medals. This War Supporter medal / achievement, will be the last for me (currently sitting at just 17 / 30).

Bottom line: if you don't get a new event ribbon, it's because you already earned it previously. The main problem, is their re-naming the ribbons. So you can't really keep a good track of what you've earned already.

They changed how the ribbon is distributed. All of the moderators have said that as long as you are connected to Live and play a legitimate match, you will earn that week's event ribbon. This includes Horde, Beast even Private matches.

I myself have never earned one off of a private match, but did off a Horde one before. Then again, whenever a new mode is up, I play a quick game online in a Ranked match before moving back onto Private to autorun a game mode.

Honestly dc0dr, I would just delete #36/37 an onwards and not update it anymore. Since their not sticking to the original names, it's very hard for anyone to keep track of what they've gotten. Realistically, their probably going to keep Judgment as the ribbon name for awhile (knowing them I can see the name never changing).

Most of the us that's active on this particular solution, will probably continue to give PSA's if a new ribbon comes out. I know I will til I get mine. I would just edit it saying you're not going to bother. A bit too confusing right now.

Boom Snipes Event again and decide to pass on it, but that event COULD be the event you need

@AZIANDRAGON: No. People usually do whatever this week's event is for their ribbon (I usually do). But with this current event of just being 1 on 1 in Guardian, people are being typical Gears douchebags and constantly re-downing for points, etc. So people are mentioning Warzone since it's typically the quickest match. You get a ribbon no matter what public MP mode you're in (or so it's been told).

Congrats Lita. Something to add to Mobius's post is there's also a lack of variety in the special playlist lately. 1v1 & 3v3 Guardian, lame. Team torque bow, though not too original, is at least more interesting. Same with the ribbon labeling, there are more words than Judgement. I'll end the rant on a positive note, my ribbon for the week did pop up without issue, so now only 4 more to go.

^ Unfortunately no. Epic Fail is a terrible game developer that only made 35 unique ribbons (technically 36, but the first one will never be repeated again). Once you have Event ID# X, you can no longer get said ribbon.

You can't check which events you already either. I first started to write down the event ribbons, but since their just doing Judgment anymore, not to mention no using the same event names, it's just stupid to event bother.

All you can do (which I even hate to say), is to just keep playing a game or two every few days and check back here as well as other sites like x360.org. More sites = more information, etc. Of course, if PeteNub" just gave a crap about events, we wouldn't have to worry.

Got a judgement ribbon (finally), after a game of 'Boom Snipes'. Played every weekend for 3+ months so I must've skipped the 2nd Boom Snipes the first go-around thinking "I already have that ribbon". Damn Epic.

Got GoW3 at launch and only missed a couple ribbons after a few weeks so buddy could borrow it. Played almost constantly since then so I can confirm it will eventually pop for us unlucky bastards who didn't take this SERIOUSLY!

So I played TDM and KOTH this weekend and did not get a ribbon. I currently have 25/30. I understand the whole you can only get each ribbon once deal...but, does it matter if I play TDM or KOTH or would I have to actually play a "Boom Snipes" playlist to get the Boom Snipes ribbon? I don't think I have to, but I would like another clarification :)

Also, is there ever a time where I would HAVE to play Horde or Beast over a standard verses match? For instance, would I have to play a Horde Mode game for the "Horde Dance-a-Thon" ribbon?

Unfortunately ToKeW8,you don't get another ribbon if you've already completed the event in the past. Forget if you've never played {Event Name Here} before. They go by Event ID's, in which their are only 35 in total. So if you've played event #15 for example, and it's recycled back to that event, you won't get another ribbon.

Total BS from Epic. Only 35 events in total, and you have to have 30 of them in total for two achievements. The new events (at least the past two months or so worth) have been put up on Fridays and last until the following Friday, but this could change at any time and without notice.

^ It's just this week's current event. The event name is irrelevant. What is relevant is the EventID#. EventID's recycle every 35 weeks. So don't miss any if you can if you want the achievement(s).

They eliminated the need to have the required DLC to get an event ribbon. Obviously you can't participate in the actual event without the DLC, but you can still get a ribbon for War Supporter.

Play any online game (TDM, Warzone, even Horde and Beast from what I've heard) and you will get the current week's event ribbon.

@Mobious: For saying the truth about Epic and their pathetic support on their games. Bugs, resets, glitches, and the last straw was when I said the truth about the events for Socialite. Those that just "plays the game for fun" don't care about getting the event ribbons. And all EpicFail is doing, is pissing off those that care about achievements, and/or completing the games that's on their card. And it's hard to do that, when Pete doesn't update the new event ID #. I think this was back when he even tweeted that it'll have to wait til he gets back from I think E3.

This one dude can't seem to handle consistency once a week, and it's stupid coming out of such a high-profile multi-million dollar developer like EPIC. Is it really that hard to phone up one of his underling programmers and have them spend 5 minutes to do it, or set up the event information to automatically change each week, or even do so when he knows he's not going to be there? It's ridiculous that War Supporter requires dedication from us to play the game for no less than seven months, then everyone at EPIC stopped giving a shit after the original 35 events cycle.

Until they start an event that cycles a unique ID once a day for at least a week, they aren't even acknowledging that this entire debacle exists. It's even worse for people who play several consecutive weeks and get nothing for no discernible reason.

As long as you're present when the match ends, you get the ribbon. When I got my ribbon today, I joined as literally the last spawn on my team on Brothers to the End. I suicided into the kryll to end the match and got the ribbon.

This just popped last night for me....on Monday. So to clarify, DO play on weekdays and weekends each week.

Now, the last three ribbons I received all said "Judgement" and one said "Judgement is Coming" It seems like they are trying to give this achievement away because of all the backlash from players.....perhaps. Why else would I get the same ribbons?

Well the thing is athiktos, events are supposed to go up at 12 noon US pacific time on Fridays, and this task is delegated to one guy at EPIC, being Peter Knepley: https://twitter.com/PeteNub

Any time a new event does not go up at that time, Knepley is off at a con or something and this thread turns into a game of Carmen Sandiego as we all try to figure out where the fuck he is and why he hasn't created a new event yet. This week, the dude didn't put up the event until Monday, so there wasn't a ribbon to be had all weekend like there was supposed to be. It's not a matter of multiple ribbons per week, it's a matter of Knepley finally changing the god damn thing three days after he was supposed to.

In addition, the ribbon has been permanently called "Judgment" for in excess of the last three months, and there was even one three weeks ago where Knepley fucked up the code and the name of the ribbon was a raw variable (something like $Gears$EventId13). Everybody getting a "Judgment" ribbon each week isn't EPIC giving the achievement away, it's shameless advertising of the next Gears of War game when this one just turned a year old this week. It's simply evidence of the rapidly depleting number of shits they give about the people waiting on Knepley's incompetent ass to change a fucking variable once a week.

It's ok for those who used the glitch but people earning legit are kept in the dark with no promoise that events will continue to run even when Judgement is out. That's part of what compounds the problem. Very few people know which events they need and there is no mention what the week's event is (or if it'll happen as scheduled) in any of the many places Knepley could use, including the event calendar in the game. his own Twitter, the community Gears page, Facebook, the list goes on. During these 7 months I've been at Knepley's mercy, very few events have ever been alluded to between all of these locations that somebody at EPIC could use to keep us informed.

The Gears events arent always on time. The last event was late by 3 days moving it from Friday to Monday. It may alternate between friday through to Monday. I play twice a week just incase but I use this site and also check the 360achievement.org event calendar as people generally post when a new event is up. Hope this helps. No event is up yet.

Hard to say judging by the way its been handled, it wouldnt be surprising if they decided to dump it all together. Im guessing it may lead up till judgement is released. We are on event 24 of the 2nd cycle so Im hoping they at least finish the cycle allowing other players to get a chance to finish it otherwise it will remain an unfinished game on a completionists list. I'm sure they'll keep doing events. We'll get a chance to finish. The annoying thing is that with the events being more sporadic it'll take longer, but there's no way they're just all of a sudden stopping.

I just hope they eventually automate the damn thing. Or do a patch that lowers the barrier so you only need 15 for Onyx or something.

The sporadicness of the events wouldn't be so bad if anybody at EPIC found it necessary to tell us when the events are going up and how long they're gonna be there. If Pete would have posted two weeks ago "3x EXP Brothers to the End until 01 Oct" then this whole problem dissolves. (Of course, I made up that end date, it's just wishful thinking)

I'm fairly certain at this point that they don't want to make the schedule known because they know the entire playerbase just looking for Socialite will be able to accurately plan their gameplay. They don't want us all signing in 15 minutes per week, they want us all on there every day looking for that event to update.

Not really, yes it would be completely unfair to players like myself who have spent the entire 30 week program to find that Im missing one but EPIC havent updated it yet. For the ones that got it first, could have used the glitch which is completely unfair to the ones doing it legit. Its just a pain in the bum achievement :(

Now, we're going several weeks in a row without a new event. Kind of a different situation. This achievement takes me several times as long to get just because I didn't get the game within the first couple of months. And it wouldn't be the first time they lowered Onyx requirements, either.

If they would simply fix the existing problem of many people not receiving credit for the events they play, then this would be a non-issue. Whether this is a bug that needs to be fixed, or removal of the "unique" limitation on the event IDs, everyone getting an event play each time a "new" one goes up would make this problem vanish pretty quickly.

It seems that for the most part, nobody knows why or how anything in Gears of War works. It's not the first time random resets have fucked people, or proper credit toward an achievement was not documented on their servers. They have a long history of this bullshit going all the way back to the beginning of the series, and they continue to prove that they can't manufacture a game sans horrible bugs that set you back hours, days, or even weeks at random. Their official response to Gears 3 resets was "make a backup on a flash drive", which is total bullshit.

At the very least, they are demanding a minimum of seven months' loyalty to the game. If we return once a week for an event, so should they. This sporadic updating with no accompanying heads up to the community that it's there, how long it will last, or when to expect the next one, has proven many times that the developers heading up the events programming are not willing to reciprocate that loyalty.

It kind of sucks that theres only one guy making the events (Pete) and that he's bussy doing other things, or maybe he's run out of ideas. If so why not repeat the event weekly or fortnigtly on a random basis. at least then we can get the flipping war supporter and look fowards to Judgement, but the way they are treating us makes me wonder if it's worth more missery by buying the next game only to find that we get screwed by Epic again and that would be bad news for the company when they bring out a totaly new game and the community says no go F**k yourself Cliffy B we don't want your shit anymore after gears. I don't enjoy Gears multiplayer in the least and the campaign became stupid over the course of the trilogy. Gears 1 started out telling you that your squad and all of humanity was fucked, then in Gears 3 Adam Fenix suddenly pops up with the "instant win" button. I purchased Gears 3 with the sole intent of grinding Seriously 3, and the only obstacle to that has been Peter Knepley and his rapidly depleting inventory of shits to give about the events he's supposed to handle once a week.

Aye, used games are a great way to play a game and still give the middle finger to the developer in most cases (even though project $10 has diminished this method in recent years). The entire Gears series I've purchased used, I received an All Fronts code for Gears 2 for free from Flak's Twitter, and the only cash they've seen from me was the season pass I bought for the Gears 3 DLC.

I pre-ordered Borderlands 2 because Gearbox knows how to talk to and work with their player community. For one really good example, the Challenge Accepted achievement in Borderlands 2 was seeing some difficulty and a fuckin' Gearbox Dev responded to the solution to let us know the missing challenge within a week. EPIC, on the other hand, has not found it necessary to address the numerous problems with Gears 3, including this big middle finger we keep getting while waiting for events. Nobody in the entire development studio has neither found it necessary to ask Knepley "Hey, when's the next event going to go up?", nor inform us of that information in the umpteen locations they have available to do it.

Well don't get your hopes up, Knepley is extremely inconsistent. Events are supposed to go up Fridays around noon US eastern, but the last one went up on Monday 17 September. Nobody seems to have any idea when or if more events are going to cycle.

Given that it was Epic's idea to put such a silly achievement as part of the retail 1000G they really should be doing a much better job of making the achievement obtainable. I will not be buying GOW Judgement until I get this achievement and, if they decide to stop GOW3 events completely - making it impossible for for me to get the achievement, I will never buy another EPIC game again as doing show would demonstrate a huge lack of consideration and respect for me as a customer.

No one knows. No one knows how meny cycles of events there will be or if they lower the limit for the War Supporter onyx medal in the later years. If my main goal would be just to gain achievements and complete games I would not start this game because of this Socialite. It's however otherwise fun and enjoyable 4 player co-op game. Ps. stuck at 25/30.

I believe there will be a new event this friday(12th, might be 24h only) since there where some pink-breast-cancer-support-stuff at Epics website related Gears3.

I'm fucking pissed about this after avoiding glitched achievements for the longest time. U wouldn't think a big game like gears 3 would pull an EA stunt like this which is fucking bullshit. Almost everyone here only needs 5 or less but I need 21 more weeks of this!!! I've got the greatest idea on how they can make this work without doing any work at all; does anyone remember left 4 dead 2 mutations that would normally take months then they stopped changing the event after several weeks similar to this. Well do u know how valve stopped the complaining, they put the mutations in the versus menu for u to choose to play at anytime making it take only 5 minutes to get rather than months. So why don't epic do the same here where they pick 30 DIFFERENT events and put them in versus for us to choose whenever we want to stop major complaints they are getting. If they ever do this I will buy judgement and its DLC full price so they should learn from Valve instead of hiding from us behind the computer. Yeah vote me for president lol

Everyone should boot up Gears immediately! I hopped in today, and even before I started a match I moved from 23 to 29 ribbons. I played a match, got #30, my Onyx,* and my achievement. Thank god!

Guys! They have done something to the medal where as soon as you load up the game, you will be put on 29/30 Event Ribbons! And then after that, play one game of any game type online and you will unlock your 30th Ribbon and thus.... The Socialite medal! So get cracking!

I played Boom Snipes when pumpkin heads were turned on and when they were turned off and got ribbons for both.
I played another round of Boom Snipes today and got the last ribbon and achievement.
Don't know why it doesn't seem to work for some people, but it did for me.

I had 27/30 before the patch. Once I got 29 I played every match type and no achievement. I though that maybe I had played Boomsnipes before so I waited... now Thanksgibbing is the event and I know I haven't played that since I didn't have the game last Thanksgiving, but after playing that and a few other matches still no achievement.

Gears 3 was shit on for Judgment a long time ago. It seems all the 29 event thing did was automatically put everyone at 29 events and did not fix the problem people were having with events not counting. So, a lot of people are still having the same problems, they just have 29 total events for the onyx medal now.

That's most of the problem, Aviators McGee is the only person who can answer any of those questions and just won't. It's the same problem we've been having with Gears 3 since its release, and the best we have is what we can conclude on our own since Knepley won't give us any information.

I should have mentioned I just started playing GoW3 very recently, and except for some rank related achievements (you can see them earned first, perhaps due to the beta, which I have no medals for), I played no multi-player until I was done with campaign. If you're playing Gears 3 for the first time on a new tag, this is probably the first achievement you can get now. Play one public match and it pops.

If you have established event history, then it's a gamble. Nobody can tell you if the achievement will ever unlock or not, even Knepley or other folks at Epic.

Just to let people know, today, July 27th, 2014, I just unlocked this achievement by playing under forces of nature - one shot one kill playlist. This is the playlist Black Tusk Studios has added in this rotation, netting me this achievement. I originally had about 26/30 legit ribbons until I got bored of the game. This proves it is still possible if you have previously played and gotten a lot of ribbons legit. Hurry as This rotation only lasts 1-2 weeks.

I just did this today (17 jan 2015) and I can confirm it still works by just playing a single online match. I previously had about half the ribbons, but upon booting the game instantly received the remaining ones but one, bringing me to 29/30. I joined a Team Deathmatch game midway through and finished it, netting me the achievement.

If you have my problem and are STUCK at 29 events and can not unlock the medal and the achievement after my exhaustive research I must sadly report you are screwed and the only way to unlock this for you is to RESET your Gears 3 main account profile back to level 1, this of course will CLEAR all your onyx medals and some but not all of your unlocked game stuff, Also sadly if you delete your profile from your console and cloud (even formatting) when you log back in to play Gears 3 there is a remote server or leader board database for this game and it will just re-install your old data back onto your console and cloud. See my description on how to reset your Gears 3 account under the solution here. I have reset mine and got the medal and achievement 1st try, good-bye 38 onyx medals and 3 months of work.

What was meant to happen is that your "events completed" statistic is supposed to be set to 29/30 as soon as you boot the game for the first time, then playing a single game in a playlist would unlock the achievement. It's not outside the realm of possibility that a game whose EOL happened 10 years ago was finally just quietly shut down completely. Given that this achievement was barely functional while the game was actively being maintained, the achievement may very well be unobtainable now.

Did anyone else not get it despite doing everything possible? Since the achievement fix announcement I must've played roughly 100 matches on all possible game modes. I'm at 29/30 events since 2013. After playing so many matches on Xbox One (the regular one, cause I don't have a series X yet), today I tried to get it on my X360 as well, but with no luck either. You/we have to wait until TC restores the Gears 3 servers back to their updated state, that is, if you want to unlock it legitimately.

We don’t know when that’ll be or if it’ll ever happen, unfortunately. There has been no official communication about it.

They’re not “actively” looking into this kind of issue, as per their support, but I don’t know if that means they’re just not prioritizing it over E-Day, which would be understandable, or if they’ve permanently moved on, which would be not so understandable. It remains unclear.

@SiberianExpress The thing about completing Gears of War 3 is that Socialite demands a minimum of seven months' play. There is no shortening it and there is no getting around it -- you absolutely need to sign in for 30 weekly events over the course of seven months. What makes this a problem, however, is that the only guy at EPIC who handles the events does not tell us anything about them. Right now, we're having a problem because the last event went up three days late (on a Monday instead of a Friday like they're supposed to be) and that was 17 Sep, nearly a month ago. Everyone's queries on the forums, Twitter, Facebook, etc. go unanswered because Knepley is the only one who can change the event, and elects to keep us all completely in the dark. Our collective concerns as it stands are that EPIC just stopped caring about Gears 3 altogether and quit putting up events, which is the only conclusion we can reach under these circumstances.

I finished grinding everything else four months ago and I've just been sitting here at Knepley's mercy waiting for events. I'm on 29/30 right now, and when or if another goes up will finally release me of my servitude. But here we sit, waiting and wondering if we're even going to get any more.

Since the 3rd Gearsmas event is closing in, Im hoping it unlocks the ribbon for playing all 3 Gearsmas events if you havent already got it. Jondude20, the events are in the 2nd cycle now. I believe this event that should've started yesterday would've been #53 which corresponds to #19 in the original list (Get Gnashy - Jan 27th to Jan 30th). ID#1 cannot be repeated, apparently; so, this cycle started at #2.
I'm not positive on that, but that should give you an idea of when the cycle will reset again.

It's a fairly accurate hunch. Whenever Epic is at any sort of "con", new events have a 50/50 chance of appearing when they're supposed to. I assume that Monday will be the earliest we will see any new event. Hell, knowing them, we may very well have two weeks of the same event ID#. And it also seems that Nubass IS the only one that can press a few buttons.

If they do put one up today I hope it stays up for the whole weekend because otherwise I'm going to get shafted on this one. Incidentally, I worked out that if, unthinkably, this is the last event to be put up, players wanting this achievement or Seriously 3.0 must have started playing the events since March 4th at the latest and played every event since then. That would make these achievements unattainable less than 6 months after the game's release. I doubt that's actually true but I thought it was worth putting out there for the sake of perspective.

I'm passing on this tip. Delete your save game data, then the first match you play will get you the achievement. However you will also have lost all your progress towards Seriously 3.0. You could backup your save, but that still won't help you get the Onyx War Supporter medal required for Seriously 3.0.

This achievement is officially unobtainable as of this summer. For some reason they reset everyone back to 0/0 events.

Tried it on multiple accounts with friends in different regions. No dice.

EASY TO GET THIS NOW IF HAVEN'T PLAYED TOO MANY EVENTS!!!!!

As of today, 11-07, Everyone is set to 29 of 30. All you have to do is get one more ribbon for an event you don't have and you get the achievement. Start up the game, play a public match, any match, any game type... ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! (unless you have already played the current event...if that is the case, wait for the next event...either way, you are at 29/30!)

UPDATE November 14th 2012: The event has now changed, so hopefully this will allow the others that could not get it before to unlock it. Good luck!

I was at 10 prior to turning it on today. Now, I have the achievement. Jump on it while it lasts!

XP Note: Those that have a low number of events will see a nice XP bonus when they play their public game, as you get credit for the bonus ribbons at the end of the match!

My only thought is that it is surrounding the two glitches that allowed people to get it, and the fact that if you miss one event that you have to wait 6 months - 1 year for you next chance at the achievement.

This has been done so they can scrap events but leave this achievement obtainable for all new players. Only time will tell if the events have been scrapped already, leaving this achievement unobtainable for players who have played the current event already, either earlier this week or 34 events ago.

The current event is still Boom Snipes, and it has not changed for some time. You have to wait for an event you have not played yet to get your 30...as stated in the solution.

It is not really a weekend anymore...they have been on the same event for several weeks now. I would just keep checking back in the game, and we you no longer see the 'boom snipes' game type, then it has moved on to another event.

If you were on the fence about starting Gears 3's achievements because of War Supporter, do it NOW. Now is the best and possibly last time to do it if they change this.

Does anyone else find it a massive coincidence that they did this at Halo 4's launch instead of weeks or months ago? I think the supposed "hand-written letter" he says he received is a lie.

NEW INFO: SUPPOSEDLY (see above) some genuinely frustrated gamer sent PetNub (the guy who changes the events) a 2-page handwritten letter. Because of this letter (or maybe this was already in the works and the "letter" is a ruse), PetNub has bumped ALL players to 29/30 events, so that the next event that counts for you will onyx War Supporter for you.

It doesn't reset which events you've participated in, so you'll still have to wait for an event I.D. you missed to pop your 30th event and the achievement. See below for more details about event I.D.'s.

For new players, this means you'll start with 29/30 and the very first online match you play will give you 30/30 and Socialite.

For rest of original post, see below:

Up-to-date info: This is a long read, but if you want to UNDERSTAND the event system (as best as it's currently able to be understood) please read this entire post BEFORE replying to the thread.

Groundrules:

1. Understand that the Event name and the Ribbon name do not matter. TThink of it this way: their server recongnizes the event from Week 1 as '##Event##01/35' for instance. Week 35 would be '##Event##35/35' in this manner. Since they cannot repeat event 1, the cycle is 34 events. Event numbers 36-69 will be repeats of events 2-35 as far as the server is concerned. Then event 70 will start the cycle for a 3rd time if we get that far.

2. You CANNOT get credit toward War Supporter more than once for each unique event I.D. For instance if you played during Event 2, then Event 36 would not count for you since it is a repeat of Event 2's unique I.D.

3. If you're just starting Gears 3: DO NOT MISS MORE THAN FOUR EVENTS, or you will be forced to repeat the cycle, since if you miss more than 4 events you won't be able to hit 30 events played within any one 34 event cycle. Cycle 1 was 35 events. We can't repeat event 1 so we're down to a 34-event cycle now. Therefore, I would suggest not missing more than 3 events just in case, if you're just starting this game.

4. They aren't consistently starting events on Friday mornings anymore. As of Sep/Oct 2012 the past couple events have taken 3-5 weeks to change. Check this forum or the event twitter religiously, or play 2-3 games a week: one on Wed, one on Sat, and possibly a third on Mon, just to make SURE you don't miss an event.

5. At this point you have to ignore the event and ribbon names and focus on which event #'s in the 34-week cycle you've played.

I'm posting the events in the same format as the event calendar thread here and will update it continuously and as promptly as I can when new events are up.

My sentiments echo that of RomanAround a post above. If no event is forthcoming for a few weeks simply drop a quick note on the site. Communication is not Epics strong point. Posting pictures of fan art seems to take precendence on the site. Any official advice outside the forums regarding corrupt save files? Any advice on how to avoid from Epic? Nothing. If you contrive hugely protracted achievement goals, make sure your game integrity and staff support them otherwise GOW3 will be my last "Epic" game.

It already is my last one lol. I played 1 & 2, although not on this tag. I put 3 on this tag for some unknown reason and thank god I finished it in July before the event situation went into a tailspin. Even though I only paid $20 for Gears 3, I will never, ever support another Epic product. Even if they take over a franchise I love I doubt I'll buy their crap anymore.

You probably played the original event that the current one is a repeat of. That is the only (known) reason for an event not giving credit toward war supporter.

Great list. I went from 27 to 29 which helps with the boost they added but I now have to wait to find an event from the first cycle I missed. is there a way to see what events you have already won? I guess it will be a wait for a while but this list should help me narrow my search. Now that I am done with Borderlands 2 I think I wil focus in on Gears 3 again to try to tie up loose ends since they gave us a boost to 29. Happy Hunting!

I'm pretty sure that "hand written letter" is bullshit and they're just using it as an excuse to FINALLY fix something that should've been fixed months ago right when Halo 4 came out. I don't think it's a coincidence. Their numbers probably dropped like a prom dress on the 6th.

Finally!! just got the achievement. HolyHalfDead is right, while it's still Boomsnipes it is a new event ID. So in the end I earnt 25 event Id's myself and received 5 as a gift from EPIC. Considered how bad their support for the achievement has been in the last 4 months I'm comfortable with that. 26 Onyx medals down, another 37 or so to go!

Yeah sorry guys and anyone moving forward that is stuck in the missed events boat that cant get one to count to complete this garbage. I stopped updating the thread on x360a and this solution because it seems for all intents and purposes that Epics support for gamers that missed events is drawing to a close.

Its crap that new players pop 30/30 day 1 but older players cant get an event to count. I hope everyone gets it that wants it, but realistically I know a few soldiers will be left behind on the battlefield on this one sort o speak.

Edit: I actually HAVE the Achievement, it's just I do not have the Onyx War Supporter Medal. I've seen people online suggest that I delete my save progress, but I don't know if that will work.

The Socialite Achievement is tracked by keeping a log of 35 unique event ID's. To Onyx the War Supporter Medal and unlock this related achievement you have to get 30 of these unique event ID's.

The first cycle spanned 34 weeks with week 2 having no event and an extra event being awarded if you earned 1 in week 13 and the two in week 14 (for a total of 4).

The second cycle started on May 18th [Spun77xLucky Stricke's Event Guide on X360A] this is equivalent to week 3 in the original cycle so event #2.

When it comes to earning progress towards the Warsupporter medal it's not the playlist itself or the ribbon itself. But the event ID#.

ID# 1 was locked in TU4 for the Flamming Retro Lancer. It is no longer in rotation and therefore can not be earned. So cycle 2 is a 34 event cycle.

The ID#'s are based on the weeks or playlist durations IT IS NOT RANDOM. So you have to play in weeks in the cycle that you didn't play those weeks the first time around. As Tuesday June 19th, 2012 we are on the equivalent of week 8 which is event ID# 7. If you haven't gotten anything these past few weeks its because you played Gears 3 every weekend for the first 8 weeks of release.

So let us re-cap. If you're wondering why you didn't get an event ribbon this week or any other week it's because you have allready logged the unique event ID into the system. The playlistsand ribbon names themselves do not matter its all about the week they correspond to. For example event ID #5 and event ID #6 in cycle 2 shared the same ribbon name "Judgement" but it didn't count as a single event towards Warsupporter.

It should also be noted that only during Gearsmas in the original cycle did we have weekday events count towards Warsupporter. So back when BTTE and Stranded KOTH etc were weekday events they didn't count. Don't confuse playing with these with the actual weekend events. Although now for cycle 2 weekday events are counting towards Warsupporter. So try and jump in Monday - Early Thurs (EDT) for an event and then Late Thurs - Early Monday (EDT) for another if we happen to get double events a week again from an issue at EPIC. Sorry to those who can't play during the weeks or happen to go on vacation/holiday as you can now end up missing two event ID's a week.

This also means that that for most players the Warsupporter medal is not Prestigable/Re-Onyxable. I myself Onyx'd it 19 times. It has no physical cap to it like Fortification Master does but the glitch to make a ribbon you allready logged count multiple times only existed Pre-TU1 and in the first two weekend events after the release of the Horde Command Pack and only worked for those with the DLC installed. These two weeks were event #6 and event #7. Keep this in mind if you did have the HCP and ended up getting a few more event counters then normal because you may beable to log more unique ID's then you thought and thus giving you a little more breathing room on missing events.

Still I would not recommend for anyone who can't figure out what events they missed to miss any events at all. But a max of 4 can be missed in cycle 2 to get the 30 required if you didn't have any when we began the cycle.

A new event ribbon has been added. This means that anyone unable to get the achievement, since they already had the current event, will now be able to get it by playing pretty much any multiplayer match. Thanks to Est3rnoKl3id0 for that info.

PLEASE READ!

As of 7th November 2012 (UK), this achievement is being made easily obtainable. Basically, all you have to do is load up your Gears 3 disc, and once you pick your save storage method and you're at the main menu, you will automatically be given how ever many events you needed to take you up to 29. For your last event all you have to do is play a Quick Match Team Deathmatch game, even if you join halfway through. You could probably play any multiplayer game, but this is the one I chose. The achievement will pop at the end of the match. Enjoy your very easy 70G!

This isn't a glitch, but I'm not sure why Epic have decided to pretty much give away this achievement. I'm guessing that they're probably scrapping the Events altogether so they're giving everyone a fair chance to get it, but I can't confirm this.

NB: I got this achievement on the 8th November 2012. All information was correct at the time of writing, but I'm not sure how long this will last. Get it while you can!

How to RESET your Gears 3 Account

This is done so you can get SERIOUSLY 3.0 if you are stuck at 29/30 events. If you have been trying to delete ALL your game data from your console you have discovered that there are remote servers with your data on them which just reloads the old data after you delete it and there is no way to delete those servers of your data, using this method you can EDIT that data to allow you to get the achievement for Socialite. As is mentioned by one of the guys here posting solutions (CYRUS) if you follow the CALENDAR DATES (LifeExpectancy) provided for when events USED TO BE HELD you can still (possibly) get this done by playing on the correct week you need. HOWEVER since you have no idea what week you need you could foreseeably spend the next 7 to 8 MONTHS trying to get this (a new event once a week) and I am pretty sure you can complete SERIOUSLY 3.0 from the beginning again well before that time. Your call what you want to do. I spent 4 months then gave up. Also since I cannot prove this I will just state it and you can decide whether you believe it of not. Apparently the game could be NOW stuck on ONE WEEK as it is not being updated anymore and this calendar MAY NOT WORK and you could spend 7-8 months for nothing playing for the medal/achievement. I know a few guys who are years trying so CYRUS solution may not work for all. AGAIN your call but my advice is RESET, happily when you go to get the ARCADE and GAME ON INSANE medal if you already had it then just play the ARCADE version on insane and play the PROLOGUE and once you beat that it will load up your old medals for each, I was quite happy when this happened.

1) You will need a DUMMY or NEW account for this, and the DUMMY must NOT have the same problem you have with this medal/achievement. The Dummy/New account will need a Xbox Live account to play multiplayer so might have to shell out a few bucks, not sure if this works with GUEST account.
2) From your xbox homepage load up/Sign-In your Dummy/New account but leave your Main Account (the one you want to reset) turned OFF or Signed-Out.
3) Load up Gears 3 with the Dummy/New account and go into VERSUS matches.
4) Select one of the game modes does not matter which.
5) Now when you get to the MARCUS FENIX loading page as you try and enter the match you selected, hit you XBox Button in the middle of your controller and press X to SIGN-OUT your Dummy/New account from Xbox Live and the console.
6) As soon as it is signed out immediately press the Xbox Button again and this time scroll down and select SIGN-IN (Profiles) which will open your profiles you have on this console and now select your MAIN account or the one you want to RESET and SIGN IN.
7) What should happen now is when your Main Account opens (it will not open in the match you picked, it will open at the MAIN MENU for Gears 3) if you look at it - it will be whatever level your Dummy/New account was for this game and if you look at the stats, the stats for your Main account will instead by that of your Dummy/New account. If this did not happen then the MARCUS FENIX loading screen beat you to the end BEFORE you could get your Main account loaded so you will have to try again and be FASTER with signing OFF the Dummy/New account and signing IN your Main account. Took me 2 tries.
8) OK now you have to LOCK IN the new data for your Main Account now that has been cloned from your Dummy/New account. To do this Hit the START button which is this one to the RIGHT of the Xbox Button and this will bring up a list, scroll down to MULTIPLAYER and select it by pressing A. What you have to do now is for each of the 5 weapons you need to change the SKIN to something new does not matter what you pick as long as it is NEW and MUST be done for all 5 WEAPONS. Once done back out of the page and back to the MAIN MENU for Gears 3. This will UPDATE the database with your new info and overwrite your previous data. Now log out/turn off Gears 3 by returning to the console Homepage.
9) Now with your Main account open Gears 3. what you should see in the loading screen is several weapons skins, some character skins, and most importantly the 29 events load into your profile while the game is loading up. The Main Accounts stats should still be a clone of your Dummy/New account once you get into the game.
10) Now just select any VERSUS game to play (TDM and WAR ZONE are the fastest I find) and play a match. At the end of this match you should now get your ONYX MEDAL and ACHIEVEMENT.

Now would be interesting to see if you CLONED someones account who already had SERIOUSLY 3.0 if you would get the achievement, not sure if this would work, and I have no friends with this achievement anyway. I am not sure if it would unlock for you if you did this, maybe someone could try and find out if they have such NICE friends to allow them to try this on their account.

UPDATE This works only on xBOX 360 and does not work on xBox 1 (Thanks Viktor).

I just unlocked the Socialite achievement Feb 11 2017 for u all that need it & stuck at 29/30 just follow dc0dr list & dates even thought u don't see the playlist just be u playing versus>standard>TDM>quick match also I was stuck at 29/30 just so you know & I didn't delete my game save either.
