How to unlock the Time to Re-up! achievement in Gears of War 3 - Definitive Guide
Hello everyone,
Warning: Before doing this, please read the solution of "Diamond Thing" and "SgtDigglesworth"
Here's a method to level up very quickly (but harder and boring ), this method is similar to that of Acte 2 - Chapter 2 for those who know.
The purpose of this method is to make onyx medal "King of Cog" each reload, for this you need have 7,5 mil points in arcade.
So, if you make 3 mil at the end of the chapter you will earn 7,5 mil points (with x2,5 insane mode)
-Before, remember that you can get 285 medals up (thank's TA community for confirmation)
-Go to Acte 3 - Chapter 1
-Select Mutators: "super reload", "enemy regeneration" and "no ammo pickups"
-Kill the reavers (infinite respawn) up to 3 mil points or more if you want (I suggest 3,2 mil), and finish the chapter as the video below. (Thank's to "GOWCompetition")
My tips:
-It may seem a bit hard, do one or two trials to get used or do this with a friend(s)
-Stay next to the turret for more visibility
-Take 4 grenades and keep for boomers at the end.
-Dying is not bad, but try to ensure that it does not happen
-The reload after the scoreboard appears works best if you are offline
a thread was created on x360a, it might be help you (Thank's to "I ThEnD I" for help)
Offline Method:
if you have any problem with the scoreboard, it will be preferable to play off line without the update, for that, go in the parameters of your console then “storage”, to select the hard drive and to press Y, you will have option “clear the system cache”.
Once that made, start the game and do not accept the update, in the menu, the game will indicate to you that your saves is corrupted, press B (to avoid any paranoid, possibly made a copy of your saves), you notice that the color of your prestige disappeared (your level is white), but not panic, your prestige is to safeguard online.
now start to level up as on the video, this time the scoreboard works for sure, once you summers rank 100, back to main menu to make the update and appreciate, if you had a prestige before starting (green or red), your rank will be again of this color! ^^
and I would say one last thing,
STAY FOCUSED ON THE SCOREBOARD !!!

I really don't recommend insane. I'm going to try it on hard but it was a complete waste of time when I tried it.

I just did and it works very well, if you die, immediately reload the last checkpoint

Warning to the people who are paranoid about re-upping.
THIS DOES EFFECT SERIOUSLY 3.0! You do keep the ribbons, character unlocks, Gold Omen Skin and medal progression (including Lv100 Onyx), but you will need to attain level 100 again... The "Attain Level 100" on the Seriously 3.0 achievement requirements gets un-ticked when you re-up.
Also no XP gets carried over... It just goes down the toilet.
Think carefully before choosing.
Simply go to stats and rewards and click the X button. Confirm you want to do it and you will earn your achievement and a new weapon skin pack.
Also your new rank will be in a green colour font, not white.

I really wish I had waited on some of my onyx medals. I had about 1.5 million xp that I assumed would have carried over. Now the xp for those medals is wasted. Sigh

Holy crap Epic, way to screw us over. I hit 100 a few months ago and have probably 500K XP that I'm now going to lose.
I gave up on Seriously 3.0 a long time ago, but this is just shit. Epic is truly the only studio I know that actively abuses their fanbase with redonkulous achievements.

Much like the solution above, along with the video posted, I would suggest doing this method. However, I just wanted to add a couple of points to it.
First: Act 3-1 is the fastest way, and by fast, it will atleast take you 8-12 hours providing you do not mess up at the end of chapter stats screen, because if it loads into the next chapter, the restart last checkpoint will be the next chapter resulting in doing the infinite spawn reaver kill over.
Secondly- In order to get to obtain a score around 1.5 million while killing reavers you will need to bag roughly 180 kills. My advice is only shoot incoming reavers and not the out going reavers headed to the battlefield as it is very inconsistent and will only add to the grind and frustration, as stranded shooting from the towers will nab kills and no assists are tallied during this portion.
Third- use the mutators above (super active reload, enemy regeneration, and no ammo pick-ups) you can easily run back and grab lancer ammo from the gun rack in the garage.
Fourth- maitaining a 10x multiplier will also help boost your onyx for the force multiplier onyx and you will also be awarded towards arcade chapters played as the continue to calculate at the end of each chapter even atfter reloading the check point.
Fifth- ensure to always active reload, as well, even when the fuel tank is dropped enemies will continue to respawn, however, if there is one located in the garage, usually crouching against the sandbag or on the visible corner wall directly to the left and visible from the platform you are on, kill him first (sometimes enemies won't respawn if one is alive) anyway it will take you about 6 mins to complete the end checkpoint with a 10x multiplier, and with 1.5mil score after the reavers you will have a total score around 4.3 million, meaning roughly every 2 reloaded checkpoints the King of Cog Onyx medal will be attained resulting in 20k xp everytime you get it.
Finally, at later levels of your ranking you will need to obtaing the onyx medal roughly 4-5 times in order to rank up. Yet, most importantly, as soon as you see the end chapter stats hit the start button or else it will carry on and you will lose that checkpoint.
Good luck and happy grinding!!!
Medals available through this method: Aficianado, Force Multiplier, and King of Cog. Do this method for both re-up achievements. Cheers!!!
EDIT**** In order to accomplish this...Disconnect from the internet and delete your cache!!!! It will still work without a hitch. Also, if you are going to get Seriously 3.0, then you will have to hit 100 again whether you stay at green wings or progress to red wings in order for the reach level 100 to be recognized as completed.

I meant to say that once you see THE STATS SCREEN FADE hit the start button...lol...

The author have deleted the video, EPIC to counter the technique, even if it works offline, there'll certainly be problems once back online.

The above solutions are good, but the fastest and most fun way for me is doing insane horde with at least one other person. The mutators I use are super active reload for more damage, must active reload, and a fun mutator. You can put on comet and big explosions if you want it to be easier.
After every 10 waves you get a lot of XP for consecutive bonuses and such. I go to wave 30 and then restart because it gets too difficult after that. But if you have the people then go to 50 for max points! This way is not a glitched way or anything so you dont have to worry about anything being reset. This also does not feel as much as a grind because you have playing horde with friends. You are guaranteed a rank up almost every 10 waves if not 2 in the higher levels (70^)
Once you reach level 100 you need to re-up which is going to the stats and awards screen from the main menu and pressing X then following the instructions.
So in summary:
Game mode: Horde
Difficulty: Insane
People: At least 2
Mutators: Super Active Reload (must), optional: all the rest
Map: Raven Down is the smallest but you can choose whatever
Waves: at least 30 but the more people you have then the farther you can go. Just make sure you finish after every 10 waves
Happy Hunting!!!
