During the actual fight the Zerker will charge at you or your teammates. Whilst it is running it's chest/ribs will open up, and your aiming reticule will turn red. This is the time to shoot it.
This can be a very long battle, especially on the higher difficulties but there is plenty of ammo around the 'arena' as well an unlimited ammo stash at the back left corner (As you enter from the door).
Once you've dealt enough damage the Zerker will leak imulsion, this does pretty hefty damage on you and on Insane dfficulty it will instantly kill you. So you'll be wanting to avoid the Zerker until the imusltion trails disappear. You are in a circle shaped area and you can easily get away from the Zerker by going around the other side.
Towards the end of the battle the Zerker will leak imulsion vapor, this is exactly the same as the trails but will damage you more. So once again, avoid it.

If you get killed after the Zerker leaks imulsion, you will start there, not from the start of the battle

Unlocks after the fight at anvil gate with the Lambent Berserker.
Tips:
-Right before the battle, you or your partner will be outside the gated stronghold--and Baird will be counting down to firing-off the Hammer of Dawn. It is kind of a tight countdown--my friend and I died a lot here. If you're outside, when Cole says something like "that doesn't look too good" just bolt for the gateway--because the dawn of the Lambent Zerker has arrived and you're almost out of time. Have your partner take care of the enemies and just run.
-During the battle note that there is a column in the center that you can hide around if you get in trouble. When the Berserker starts to bleed imulsion you're about 2/3 of the way there--and its time to REALLY start using your space and that column because walking through the imulsion is an instant takedown on hardcore or above. Have your friends stay close--but the AI is fairly good at helping you, so you should be okay, ultimately.
