As of November 9th 2020, all event skins are craftable using scrap!

FYI these skins can only be crafted in the Versus Swarm customisation. In case you were looking.

If the achievement doesn't unlock, quit the game and boot it back up. Several users have experienced this.

I'll leave all the old information up just for the sake of people knowing how it was obtained originally.

FINAL UPDATE!: There will be no more events. The skins will be craftable in January 2020.

As of February 15th the update to make them craftable is still pending from The Coalition. The below quote is from TC Octus on Reddit.

We've postponed the Gears 4 sunsetting stuff until Summer so the team can keep focusing on improving 5 above all else. We're locking down plans now to communicate well ahead of time what we plan to do, but it won't be for quite a while.

5/10/18 EDIT: The Horde events still reward weapon skins at the completion of a match. They are not following suit of the Versus event challenges. They are random drops and you may encounter duplicates.

During these timed events you need to register through the main menu on Gears 4 that will redirect you to GearsofWar.com. You'll then hit register on-site. Each event will have criteria that must be met to be eligible for the Flaming skins. You'll need to manually track progress during these events as there is no in-game tracker.

I will post any upcoming events as they are announced and edit this solution and make a comment to it as well.

Hey guys and gals. The Coalition has announced the next Horde Event with Midnight Omen weapon skins as rewards. The event will be live starting tomorrow Feb. 16th and running until Feb. 23rd. 2 skins up for grabs to help reduce duplicate drops. Enforcer and Boomshot.

Year of the Dog Horde Event
We’re celebrating the Year of the Dog with a Horde Madness event that puts the focus on the Swarm’s very own attack dog – the Pouncer. (Yes, we did have to force that tie in a little bit). Prepare for an overload of Pouncers and Juvies with weakened fortifications as you fight to survive all 25 waves on either Normal or Insane difficulty.
You’ll be able to earn Midnight Omen Weapon Skins as a Horde Boss Loot Drop at the end of Wave 25 – only until February 23rd!
In response to community feedback, every full run – either on Normal or Insane - guarantees a Midnight Omen Weapon Skin. In addition, only two will be available this time out to reduce the chance of finding a duplicate – the Midnight Omen Enforcer and Boomshot.

Also a reminder that the current Cupid Torque Bow Tag event is still underway until the 19th if you still need skins for the Versus related achievement.

there was no update, but this is not a reason to give up, it all depends on us, write to support, on the forums, on Twitter. You should not sit and wait until everything is decided by itself, I believe that the players who are waiting and do nothing are to blame for the fact that the update did not come. Developers ignore us because we are few, forums and tweeter are full of various questions, and this issue is the least discussed. Stop sitting and waiting! now the word of each player has huge weight

i don't know if i got lucky or not but i literally only played 3 horde matches and got all 3 weapon skins.. no duplicates whatsoever. and also if any of you want to earn these skins fast is to play on normal difficulty, mainly because its more shorter and much quicker compared on insane which takes no less than an hour on normal. so i highly suggest to play on that difficulty.

Rewards will be granted to qualifying participants by end of January.

The changes require QA testing to ensure they don't cause any issues or break the game, this is currently low down on the list, with QA having a long list of items to work through currently, including but not limited to Gears 5 Operations (Op 4 released recently, Op 5 coming soon), regular Title Updates for fixes, and for November 10th Gears 5 for Xbox Series X/S, Gears Tactics for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One/X/S.

Since there's normally a Gearsmas event every December, I'd guess this will not be able to be addressed until Jan 2021 at the earliest, is my personal opinion.

Does no fails mean that as long as one person on the team is alive and the wave doesn't fail it counts, or that I have to survive through all 25 waves without getting killed to qualify for the Midnight Omen Lancer?

If I’m reading it correctly, looks like u have a chance at 3 of the midnight omen skins which mean if you did jingle juvies (event 1=2 skins) and didn’t fail any rounds then you can have 5 skins. But of course, we are waiting for them to award the jingle juvies skins....

If your tracker is NOT showing progress all you need to do is shut down the game and relaunch it and go to the customisation menu and the progress should update.

Repeat cards DO NOT give you more percentage for the achievement. Only 20% per unique card.

Sadly you can get duplicates which means getting all of them is down to RNG!

When the event started the skins were Legendary (gold) and couldn't be scrapped. After a few hours they were downgraded to Rare (blue) and can now be scrapped.

The tracker for this doesnt work on the console, it ether shows 0 if you have non or 100 if you have at least 1 card. Only the Xbox app on mobiles or PC works.

For those who haven't got the achievement yet, there is another Horde event likely to be released on Friday the 16th, celebrating the Chinese New Year (Year of the Dog event), which will go on until March 2nd, so 2 weeks, basically.

There will also be a Horde event on Friday 16th of March for MO skins, but we dont know the event nor how long the event will last.

Most people report getting between at least 5 - 8 duplicates of one of the two weapon skins before getting the other one (Midnight Omen Boltok and Gnasher), the RNG (Random selection) seems to be suspiciously evil in this game.
You're best off doing it on Normal as fast as possible until you've gotten both weapon skins.

Seems it's stopped giving the Midnight Omen Skins now.

^When the event went up yesterday the cards were not a guaranteed drop, but since everyone complained about it (and since they basically said it would be guaranteed) they changed it and so you should get a card after 25 waves of horde frenzy on any difficulty.

Unless, you know... The Coalition include two more achievements in the March achievements for collecting 10 or all 14 Midnight Omen/Flaming weapon skins.
As I didn't bother with Flaming Weapons until they released an achievement last time, and waiting to receive the last flaming skins for the achievement, I'm not taking any chances, also doesn't hurt the Midnight Omen ones don't look bad.

You need to have 5 midnight omen (or flaming for that achievement) weapon skins in your inventory at the same time to unlock it.
Until then, it'll count how many you currently have and increase the tracker up to that many fifths as a percentage (1 = 20%, 2 = 40%, 3 = 60%, 4 = 80%).
Achievement trackers only increase, they don't decrease, so when you scrap a midnight omen weapon skin it doesn't reduce the tracker completion percentage, but until you get up to the same amount of midnight omen weapon skins you had before you scrapped them, it won't increase.

e.g. Have two midnight omen weapon skins, tracker shows 40% (if it doesn't, restart the game).
You scrap both midnight omen weapon skins, tracker remains at 40%, but you have 0 midnight omen weapon skins.
You earn 2 more midnight omen weapon skins, tracker stays at 40%, as you only have 2 midnight omen weapon skins at the moment, that's 40%, once you get another midnight omen weapon skin and don't scrap the 2 you have, it'll go to 60% as you now have 3 midnight omen weapon skins.

If you're seriously interested in completing the game at all, you need to be ready to inconvenience yourself to get this achievement done ASAP. Gears has a long history of just giving up on event-based achievements, and Gears 4 is running dangerously close to the "no fucks given" zone.

This is a great way to level up if your going for Re up-10 /11

However after doing this several times

Instead of the 3 Elite bonus packs - it was one single pack -

The reward was the complete Midnight Omen Skin pack !

Posting this so no one has to sort through the other guides.

For this achievement you'll need a total of 750 scrap:

-Each skin will be 150 scrap to craft
-You must own all 5 skins at the same time
-The skin can be found under the Swarm tab for weapons

Once you get your achievement, you can scrap the skins if you don't like them for a total of 100 scrap.
