How to unlock the Drop the Beat…down. achievement in Gears of War 4 - Definitive Guide
I have made a guide on how to get this achievement in a versus private match. I show how to change all the weapons to the dropshot and I show how to get the all the headshots. I hope it helps!
Note: For this solution you need a friend or an extra controller.

Dont understand how this guide has been downvoted more then the one in front. This one helped me more with showing how to change out all weapons to dropshot (not obvious) and the tip about looking at your second controllers screen in split-screen (made this easy, got 3 headshots in 4 tries).

You'll get this playing online normally, but if you want to get it over with, find a buddy or a second controller and set up a private match, switch the weapons to Dropshot for extra ammo (Versus, Host Private Match, and Switch Weapons) and follow the video. The secret is in aiming a bit to the right once you figure out the right distance. Also, if you are horrible with the Drop Shot, the right distance shown in the video only requires you push the trigger once instead of holding it.

The deposit is a swine to get a headshot with! I managed one by accident in the campaign but is taking me ages in vs mode

You'll walk past a Dropshot near the end of Act III: Chapter 4 shortly after a cutscene where you decide to head toward the Ore Transporter to go down into the mine. (I think this is the first time the weapon is available in the campaign).
Immediately after, a few enemies will spawn that can both be headshotted with a well timed drop. After running out of ammo or killing the first two enemies, restarting the checkpoint puts you right back in front of the weapon again for quick and easy re-tries. Your total won't be lost.

The trick for this is to not aim at the enemy exactly, but to aim at the top of a box or crate that is next to the enemy. Then the dropshot should detonate at roughly head level. In this example, it's usually best to try and go for the enemy hiding at the back of the room after picking up the dropshot.

The way I got this was to set up a private verses, TDM. Replace all weapons with the Dropshot. Have a second controller (or friend) and just try to get the timing right. It doesn't require you to do the 3 headshots in 1 game, can be done over multiple sessions.

I wouldn't understand if I didn't look at the guides.
The easiest way to do this is on splitscreen. Create a Closed Confrontation Mast with a second gamepad, and select only Dropshots in the match settings. This will make sure that Dropshots are scattered throughout the map. Pick up Dropshot, run to rep to the second gamepad and shoot in the head. Video.

Made this trophy in a horde. Starting from waves 6, opponents with droids (large swarm/locust spawn fighters) will appear. We take a dropshot instead of the main weapon. It is advisable to play on easy. You can even do it alone.
I have never been able to drop a bomb directly on the head, but you can “cut off the heads” of ordinary robots/locusts/swarms with a projectile. It is advisable to stand below the enemy, the entire enemy should fit into the sight, and you need to shoot with active reloading. Then there is a chance of cutting off the enemy’s head with a shell; I did just that myself.
