You must complete all 10 waves of Survival on the 4 available maps, they are:

- Estate
- Skyline
- Junkyard
- Island

Survival is basically horde mode with an overrun twist. You must protect the E-Hole from damage as you fend off waves of locust and uses the same class system as Overrun.

If doing this on casual you shouldn't have any problem beating all 10 waves on the first E-hole, but if you do fail you have two more chances. If you fail the first hole, you move to the second, fail the second and you move to the generator. If the generator gets destroyed, you fail!

Can be done in public or private match. Personally what was easiest was hosting a co-op/boosting session and trying to get a full team. With a full team of 5 we knocked out all 4 maps in a little under 2 1/2 hours and never failed the first e-hole.

Character class isn't a huge issue, but try and make your team a bit varied. We had a constant 2 engineers, 1 soldier, 1 scout, 1 medic. The medic isn't really necessary as we rarely died, so another soldier/ scout is always helpful.

There are two main areas the locust come from, so keep 3 on one side and two on the other. Me being the Soldier I would constantly run from side-to-side to keep everyones ammo full.

As long as you have at least 2-3 human players you should be able to do this without
much hassle. Pretty simple, but it does take some time.

Note: You do not need to participate in all waves 1-10, but simply be in the game upon winning Wave 10.

I got 1/4 by joining a friends final wave. Now going to do the other maps in public game or solo, whatever is easiest.

I'll note that you don't have to participate in all waves 1-10 as long as you are there for the 10th wave win.

Just a note, be aware if you play this in a public game, it will be on hardcore, so maybe private is the way to go with this one.

I must say that it's easier if you do this in a private match with the lowest difficulty. Because if you play this online the difficulty is always set on hardcore and since this game was a GwG title there are lots of noobs playing this mode and I didn't get further than round 7 or 8. I've done 2/4 alone with bots.

I done all except Island alone in Private, it's no problem. The best thing to remember is that the game will try to compensate for any team members you haven't got, so if you choose Engineer from the start you're gonna get two Paduks, Coles or Sofia's.

But, if you select Paduk at the start, who is the worst, the game will chose the other three and two of one of them, hopefully it's Baird, but cole is good too, simply die straightaway and come back as Baird. you'll have a good team with two engineers or soldiers. Keep an eye on both sides, the AI is OK but they tend to let barriers fall and let enemies sneak in.

The Island is the hardest, try to get someone on the turret or do it yourself, it can help a lot.

Yeah as listed above, you need to be online for this. If you have your party set to local it does not count. Private as casual is the easiest to complete. Can check the maps your missing under 'stats and awards' in the achievements tab.

The achievement DOESN'T have to be done in a public game. You can beat wave 10 on Casual in a Private match with some friends or the bots. It really isn't that difficult, Me and a boosting party did every map on the first Emergence hole, so go get em (:

EDIT: According to Lonewulfeus, there may be a bug if you try to do this splitscreen. I have confirmed (as you can see by me unlocking) that this solution DOES INDEED WORK with 5 players online. Use splitscreen at your own risk.

EDIT2: "Spit screen doesn't work because it makes you play offline in Survival. You will notice once one of you sign a profile out and try to play anything with match making the game will prompt you to change your settings back to online." Coming from DJ 0311. Again, use split screen at your own risk, still no confirms as to it working.

Did split screen today completing all 4 maps and did NOT get credit for wave 10 on any of them... may be bugged in split screen?

Edit 2 is incorrect. Turning on a second controller is what puts the party type to Local. If you sign that second controller in with a Xbox Live Gold account or as Guest you can set the party type back to Joinable Public, Joinable Friends or Invite Only. Getting achievements split-screen seems to have been deliberately prevented, because it would make getting achievements like win a Free For All match when it is just you and a second controller too easy. The only exploit I can think of that split-screen gives in Survival is that the second account will also get the achievement, but how is that any different to the other accounts not in split screen.

I was playing with Sawman, who has gold, on my gold account. We switched from a match making game of overrun to the survival lobby played a match making game and decided to do it in a private match and it didn't count. Maybe the default for the survival game type in spit screen is offline and can be changed but I don't think it has anything to to do with the second controller unless you don't have a profile signed in.

Split Screen with two Gold profiles (not a guest) works fine if you join an online match. If you host a local private match it does not.

Yeah ! I wonder why you took this achievement in CO-OP or as a boosting season ! I also think that you do not have THE SLIGHTEST idea of how difficult this is on casual as a single player ! I just completed wave 10 at Skyline with 1 % LEFT AT THE LAST E-HOLE !

SO DO NOT PLAY THIS ON CASUAL ON PRIVATE !!! IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO COMPLETE, BECAUSE THE BOTS ARE DUMB AS FUCK ! Do it in a boosting season or with 4 other player

so after trying each map many times i though beating all 4 maps solo with bots was not possible but with the strat i used i went 4 for 4 beating all 4 maps in one go and here is what i did all i did was first but the difficuly on casual then choose paduk as the sniper he has will one shot the tickers wreach grenaders kantus and will like 5 or 6 shot the boomers corspers maulers making it very easy to take out all emenys just make sure your aiming is at least ok its funny that taking out most emenys in one shot really shows as all the other character it takes some time to take them out but not paduk and his sniper that is the key to doing all the maps solo if you cant find anyone that is and or since the online difficulty is like hardcore and i almost never find anyone and even if i do they never join my private match so yeah this option is pretty easy solo

There are only 4 maps that you have to complete in Survival mode.

Island
Estate
Junkyard

You can play with friends to make this easier, or go at it alone. Either way, you may put it on casual if you don't want to spend a lot of time on this. You have an E-Hole Cover that you must protect. You do have bots that help you if you do this by yourself. This is like Overrun and Horde mixed into one. You have 10 waves total and must kill all enemies to proceed to each next wave. There is no time limit in this game mode. The enemies will vary from wave to wave. If the E-Hole gets destroyed twice, you will have to defend the generator. This is extremely well fortified and as long as you repair the barriers a lot, you can survive it even alone with bots. The last wave has an extreme amount of enemies.

Private Game: You can play on casual with up to 4 other people (5 total). This makes it a lot faster if everyone cooperates. If someone joins in the middle of the game, that is fine. It will still count in the end, even if they joined late.

Note about Public Matchmaking: If you do not have your own party, you will be matched up with random people on the hardcore difficulty. It's actually easier to do it by yourself on casual than it is to play with 5 on hardcore.

Tracking: You can check the Achievements section in Stats & Awards from the main menu to see which ones you have done if you lose track.
