Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

Since the new update on 24/9/15.

Must have 2 controllers.

Go to Versus, Xbox live, Private Match, select Blitz, set the time to 60 and rounds to win to 1.

Start a game and cap the ring, now get your second controller and break the ring, then quickly move out. This allows your player to cap the ring for the second time.

Let the counter go down and the ring will move, run to the ring and cap it for the third time and finish the game

Can get one done in around 3-4 minutes including all loading times.

EDIT: A title update was pushed out and now the achievement is to simply play 100 matches of any ring playlist(KoTH, Blitz, and Annex) and capture 3 rings in the match.


This is one method to knock this achievement out.
Sign in a guest profile with a second controller. Head on to Xbox Live Matchmaking. Be sure to select Xbox Live and NOT local multiplayer[VERY IMPORTANT]. Go to Private Matches. Select Annex. Change the settings to be 3 rounds and set the timer to 120. Start up the game on a small map, like Raven Down, and start the match. Simply Play the game and capture the hills. You are looking at roughly 10 minutes to complete 3 rounds, including wait times, per match.
EDIT: One additional note, all achievement progress is using the built in achievement tracking. You will not see a percentage increase from the achievements app on xbox live.

I will present to you 2 methods to do this achievement. One if you have 2 controllers and want to do all alone, and another if you don't have 2 controllers or want to do with a friend.

To do alone with 2 controllers:
Sign in a guest profile and go to Xbox Live Matchmaking. DO NOT PUT LOCAL MULTIPLAYER, select Private Matches and put Annex. Changes settings to 3 rounds and the round score to 120. Start the match and capture the hills. This will take 10 or 11 minutes, per match.

10:30 per match
103 minutes to 10 matches
1030 minutes to 100 matches or 17-18 hours

To do with 1 controller:
To do this method of course you will need a friend as crazy as you to want to do this shit
Starts the same that alone, Go to Xbox Live Matchmaking, select private matches and put Annex. But now instead of you put 3 rounds, put 2 ROUNDS and the round score to 120. Once the match starts you or your friend have to win the first round (120-0), in the second round the one that do not won the first round take the hill and soon as he got he leaves the hill, the other one needs to break the count, just break DON'T STAY IN THE CIRCLE, the one that was in the hill turn back and restart the catch. You need to do this to count as 3 objectives captured. The third round needs to be won by the guy who ones the first. When he took the first hill he will be doing what is needed for the achievement, finish the match will count for you two. This method takes 9-10 minutes.

9:30 minutes per match
93 minutes for 10 matches
930 minutes for 100 matches or 16-17 hours


Both of this methods also work for the Nub Pwn3r achievement.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned this, and it’s a big enough game changer I thought it worthy of a ‘guide’ rather than a comment hidden away.

Short version:
If the you win by forfeit (i.e. the entire enemy team leaves), this still counts as a ‘Complete’ match.

Long version:
2 controllers and 2 xboxes (better known as a friend):
1. Whoever wants the achievement, Host a Lobby and go to Versus -> Xbox Live -> Private Match
2. Load up Blitz with the map cycle consisting only of Raven Down - the other settings don't really matter but we want blitz as the capture and break times are instant, and every second counts!
3. Once done, select A to create the lobby.
4. Invite your friend, who should be on the other team, and start the match.
5. Run and capture the ring, and just stay there (if you don’t leave it, you can knock out Nub Pwn3r at the same time)
6. Once you are in the ring, your friend should be running over, and simply run through it. As they do, the ring will break, and as they leave, you will recapture it.
7. Repeat step 6 once more to get your 3rd capture.
8. Your friend quits the lobby, leaving you with a win and progress to this achievement!

Just rinse and repeat and it’s all yours.
For anyone wondering, the in-game tracker will show every 10 games.
