How to unlock the Go Ahead, Make My Day achievement in Generation Zero - Definitive Guide
Hunters are one of the more dangerous bots in the game; especially as you progress they acquire upgrades that make them dangerous to even a well armed player.
The basics with all bots in this game is that they all have weak spots. If you are shouting them correctly you will see blue sparks, and will have an easier kill. Their "head" with the little red eyes is a basic weak point, but hard to aim at while they are moving. I will try to describe each weak point accurately so you may get this achievement with less difficulty.
Note: being inside a building helps greatly with fighting a pack of hunters; the walls give you cover and allows you to concentrate on one at a time without the worry of being literally shot/stabbed in the back. Though they can shoot through doors and windows, if you expose yourself, timing your shots helps with this.
First Tier(Orange Hunter): The main gun for all hunters is in their left hand, a few shots and this will break leaving them with only their blade. Avoid close quarters with them, sprint away in any direction whenever they charge and leap to avoid being impaled and hurt badly, and you should be fine. (The melee and impale attacks are common to all types of hunters)
Second Tier (Green Hunter): These units have the addition of a poison gas canister launcher on their back, upper right shoulder. This gives them a chance of killing you while you are camped out in a building, but if you are in a house you can usually relocate to avoid damage. Now, you can shoot off both their gun and the launcher and then concentrate on their "head" or usually after their parts are gone a clip of SMG or assault rifle will finish them off properly.
Third Tier (Grey & Red Hunter): These are mean bastards. In addition to their usual machine gun these bots have explosive dart launchers. Even with decent cover these can hurt you through walls; if enough hit you the explosions will knock you down and any other unit can finish you off while you are staggered. Cover is key, pop out of cover to shoot then hide again, buildings are the easiest way to deal with a group of these. Or a lot of grenades and rockets.
