How to unlock the Postgraduate achievement in Generation Zero - Definitive Guide

I tried the "Going to safe houses" solution, but this doesn't appear to work after the updates so this is what I did.

1. Wait until you have done your first run through the game (apart from Collectibles).

2. Start your 2nd character, which also has access to your high level characters gear from the storage box. This way you can use your 6 star weapons (I used AK47) with all the ammo you can carry.

3. Start doing the collectibles. This will give you 250XP for everyone you collect, probably 100XP for going to a new area. A lot where in areas I never visited during the campaign.

4. If you need extra XP, shot the crap out of everything you see. With a low level character and 6 star weapon I got rid of just about everything with a few shots. Another good source of XP is Beacons - 1000XP each, after I got my 10 for the achievement I left the rest.

I had 7 unlocks to use before I started the 4th set of collectibles. So now just put one in each of the abilities in 1 column, that's not the same as your other character.

I'd say the safest bet is the Vanguard specialization in the combat tree. I like this tree because most if not all of the skills will benefit any build. You get a total of 31 skill points so I believe 4 could be unlocked. Realistically, you'll have 2 unlocked because you'll want to throw extra points in the tree's you use the most plus another 6-7 points in the survival tree.

Also, you can only have one specialization active at a time but you can toggle between them as often as you like with no additional expense.

Any recommendation as to which specialty is most useful for the initial, longer play through?
If it's based on game play style, share your favorite and why?
Also, how many specialties can be unlocked in 1 play through? Only 1, or several, or all of them?

A lot of solo players like the Hacking specialization in the tech tree because you can make robots fight each other for a short time and that takes some aggro off of you. So you could have that tree, the vanguard tree and some survival skills to finish you off. That way you are toggling your specialization between Hacking and Vanguard as needed.

I'm on 1st PT - so if I get all collectables in this PT (it's what you normally do in most games) - will that mess me up for this achievement?

Even creating a second character gives you an achievement. New characters share everything except skills and level. When u start a new character, you have access to your storage, collectiables are shared and so are quests, bunkers, safehouses, locations. Everything except skills. Note: You won't be able to replay any completed missions. I found that odd.

For this achievement, I waited until I was done with game on first toon.

1. Then I used the new character to go back and get all the collectibles. I'm not quite done, but except to have her to near level 7 if not done by the time I'm done with collectibles, which gives enough to finish a specialization.

2. I chose the Hacker specialization because the second skill that unlocks in that tree is Inquisitive Mind, gives you 50% and 100% extra XP. I went ahead and put an extra skill point into this to get the 100% extra XP.

EZ PZ if u use this new toon doing something like collectibles that you had to do anyway. You'll have to kill stuff along the way and that will boost you as well. Shouldn't be a problem with access to your first toons weapons in storage.

Inquisitive mind clearly says ''increase amount of xp earn FOR COMPLETING A MISSION'' not for killing or exploring, just missions. Since most your missions are done already and you say you can't repeat, wouldn't these skills be completely useless to a 2nd character??

I like this guide the best, but Yogi does pose a legit question. Please respond, or change your suggestion in your current guide about the Hacker line.

Good work and thanks to all the guides POVs.

I got this after doing everything with my first character, people may say to buy the DLC as there won't be enough things to do to level up. I got this on the first part of the map, used my OP weapons (leave them in storage for your second character to pick up). I upgraded the left part of the tech skill tree as the second unlock was extra xp earned, took a few hours but didn't have to buy DLC. Not sure if choosing to do tutorials again made a difference but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be smile

To upgrade one specialization, you will need to upgrade your second character to level 7.
