How to unlock the Monolithic achievement in Genesis Alpha One - Definitive Guide
Simply change your galaxy settings to include the fewest solar systems but have resources and artifacts as high as possible. This must be done when you start a new run.
This spawns the same amount of items across far fewer planets, making the search much easier.
I suggest starting with the artifact radar and a spider crew, if available, simply to make the process much faster.
Several artifacts require achievements to unlock, such as performing a Genesis without losing any crew in the session, so it would be efficient to go for other achievements and simply grab artifacts as you make progress.
Edit: I just remembered that artifacts can appear on other ships, both derelict and active. They appear in crawl spaces usually. 100% don't bother checking ships without a radar, it's a huge pain.

I was done with everything else at around the 30h mark wondering why exactly is Genesis a 50+ hour game for most. Then, 12h later, I was still searching for that last damn weapon drop.
On your first run you should pick up all the audio logs you come across even though they're just collectibles. This is because on every subsequent run duplicate logs will NOT spawn making the map less cluttered.
One other thing perhaps worth mentioning is that an update in late 2020 added a few artefacts and a new encounter type, shipwrecks, where some artefacts can be found. The larger wrecks can be a real pain to clear so it might be worth it to play the unpatched version if you have a disc copy.
P.S. Thanks for putting up guides for this game DB.

Thank you, I love helping out on more obscure games because they're my favorite.
Woah, 50 hours? I wouldn't have guessed that.😐 Artifacts went pretty quick for me. Under 5 hours I think. Maybe people just keep default settings because they fear achievements will get voided? That might be inflating the complete time.
Edit: Or maybe it was because speedran and bunny-hopped past every enemy at that point because collectable grinding can get boring lol.

Dumbest box guide is fine, I was just going to leave a comment but ended up being to long so here's just another guide.
Just some tips from my experience for cleaning up missing artefacts. I did one big run where I picked up all achievements besides all artefacts, no deaths and all species. I didn't adjust the galaxy setting so I don't know if this information applies if you change settings such as no rogue ships.
Also you can check how many artefacts you have by going to new game on the menu and picking artefacts. (don't start a new run however as this will wipe your current run)
I think its possible to get all achievements in one run with the exception of all species (as you may, due to rng, just not get 2 of each planet types to genesis). Its worth spending the time on your first run being thorough as starting another run, all the artefacts return to the pool so finding the one you need specifically can take a while, as you will mostly get doubles.
I was able to collect all artifacts in my main run besides 2, the acid thrower and the reward for no deaths, so there was just one collectible from the site pick ups I missed. I checked all planets and ships multiple times and wasn't able to find it so decided to start a new run and clean up the remaining species and no deaths. In my new run I got every collectable from the planet sites but still did not have the acid thrower yet, so I moved on to abandoned ships where soon after found it.
Biggest thing worth noting is that I think certain pick ups are either on planets or ships, but I do think that every artefact will appear on one run (without changing galaxy settings);
- I got all weapon pick ups from the planets except iron thrower, acid thrower and flame throwers. I found
iron thrower and acid thrower immediately on ships after I had just searched every planet, so I think they
are ship specific.
- All the alien location artefacts came from a monolith on the planets so I think they are planet specific.
- Toms collectibles also all came from planet pick ups, you don't need them for this achievement but you will
probably get them all while searching, and one you get them, they are permanent across all runs.
- I think the five hanger upgrade artefacts I found on planets.
- I'm not confirming as I didn't track this, but I think genesis candidates and resource locations are also planet
specific.
Another big thing is that the computer wouldn't say there was a site, but when I visited the ship, there was a site on my radar (sites show on radars is an artefact I found on a planet). This might have been why I didn't find the last collectible on my first run as I was just looking at the computer.
TLDR;
-Not confirmed but I think all collectibles should also appear in one run.
-Some collectibles are planet or ship specific.
-Some times when scanning ships, it wouldn't tell me there was a site, but when visiting, the radar shows a
site.
-If you start a new run, you only start with the artefacts you chose, so everything else can be recollected, I
went through about 60 artefacts before finding the 1 I needed.
-Achievement unlocked immediately upon collecting final collectible, I was on an abandoned ship also.
Feel free to leave comments on where you find certain artefacts, might help future people. :)

You need to land on ALL planets with a chest and look for items, + destroy all ships on the map, because they also have artifacts, and scan for valuables, for this you need a boarding module. After that, you destroy the captain of the ship, you don’t have to kill the whole crew, but then the card falls, sometimes the captain will die first, and sometimes you cut everyone out before you get to him, and when he dies, he throws away the artifact. + You need to scan all the lost ships for valuable items, and if during scanning you found 1 or more items, not expansion boards, then we disembark and look for something valuable. " because in this case the treatment artifact drops out..
