This isn't a guide so much as a warning. I searched literally the entire map for the workshop III blueprint to no avail. As of the latest update that includes "ship assault" module blueprints are found on shipwrecks.
Another thing to note is that there is NOT enought Radiation Blue/Radium on the map for every upgrade, so if you're going for this achievement get these first then upgrade your crew species.
Lastly, certain unique weapons cannot be upgraded like the minigun, outlaw shotgun or the Sa1. However, the Turret and Energy Barrier do count.
As with the genetic samples most weapon parts for each tier can be acquired through gradual gameplay just remember that they correspond to the difficulty of the planet:
Tier 1 samples -low danger.
Tier 2 samples -high danger.
Tier 3 samples -critical danger.

Some maps may not have a designated Tier 3 planet for every alien race. In that case you should be able to find T3 drops on one of the T2 planets.
Enabling 9/9 traders when generating the seed may help with this since more traders = more available resources.

I found the X-caster to be a reliable all around weapon choice. The upgrade samples drop from the moss men ("Morg"?) whose location does not show on the map. Consider farming the T3 samples when you run into these guys on a T3 planet.
