How to unlock the Make Haste achievement in Ghost Song - Definitive Guide

It’s highly recommended to do this alongside the deathless achievement to avoid a third run and on Explorer difficulty to avoid getting out-scaled by the enemies and minimise the amount of forced encounters you have to do. The route detailed in this guide (through text and video) should allow you to finish the game in about an hour provided you don’t die (if you play it safe and save more often/die a bunch and get more upgrades you’ll probably still finish in 2 hours max); my final time for reference:

External image

With this in mind go for every NanoGel Cluster you can find to get yourself a couple level ups, but note that will be for stat increases only; this route only uses the Coburn Launcher in terms of Modules.

As the text guide is probably explained to the point of overkill I’ll link the video guide from SasquatchSpeedruns first:
If for some reason you don’t want that and are confused from my descriptions (either because you can’t make sense of them or they’re wrong (particularly with mixing up left and right); this is close to a 2k word guide, that’s to be expected) check the complete map over at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-cWtLR4MTxVPkU8L_-k2... for help.

Step One: Acquire Phase Dash
After awakening the Deadsuit, head right, then down at the earliest opportunity. Once you reach the pipe in the middle of the room, head left to the Big Bot in the next room and save. Head to the bottom and go to the right in the next room. Traverse the next couple rooms as normal. Once you get to the top of the elevator break the (obvious) cracked wall at the top and traverse the next room, exiting from the bottom-right. Once on the other side of the previous room go to the left to obtain the Phase Dash; quit to the main menu immediately after.

Step Two: Reach the Crash Site and Obtain the Coburn Launcher
Head to the bottom of the room from where you saved again and go down (head a little to the left to do so), then right in the next. Head to the right of the next room; from there go through the following rooms as normal until you reach Roslock Drift Beta. In the first room, after getting up to the top platform head all the way to the left and shoot the wall there until it breaks. Head inside for the first of five Healing Cores you’ll grab in this run. After going through that room and the next normally, go to the middle-left pathway of the third room (in this sentence) and go through the whole path to earn your second Healing Core. Head to the right pathway from there. At this point go straight to the Crash Site through the following rooms and get the component locations from Gambler (to be safe, not sure if you can do without). Head left normally until you find a red wall and an enemy, kill him for the Coburn Launcher. Equip it and again quit to the main menu.

Step Three: Acquire Ankle Spikes and Return the Component in Six-Finger Woods
Head to the top of the room and head right to kill Belle for your third Healing Core. From here, head straight left to Six-Finger Woods. Upon reaching the first save point here, quit to dashboard so that if you die you don’t completely start over if you’re combining this with the deathless achievement (there’s a spot in this step that can kill your run very easily). The path is pretty much a straight shot to the Component (so down for room one, left for room two, and down right for room three). Room four however is a potential choke point: there’s two Behemoth Roslock (big fists and shock effect on their fists; name’s personally created) that can very easily kill you if you make a blunder. Kill the jumping enemies first and then shoot each spiky platform with a Coburn before jumping to it. When you’ve reached the normal platform in the middle kill the jumpers again and after shooting the spiky platforms with Coburns, jump and do a mostly neutral dash to the first platform, a normal jump to the second, and jump over the third with a dash. Head down and right in the next two rooms to acquire the Ankle Spikes, then go back to the start of the first room of the two. Jump up the left wall into the next room and shoot the breakable wall with orange stuff (not sure what it is). Head down from here, breaking part of a floor at the right of one on the way, to get the first Component.

We’ll be returning to the Crash Site through the route to the Ankle Spikes. Exit the Component room through a breakable floor to the left of it and head right, destroying a breakable wall at the end of the next room. When you make it back to the Spike Shoes room go right and break the destructible wall to the right of the next room. Go right from there and leave Roslock Drift Alpha. In the first room back in Lupoto head to the top of the room immediately (Motivator isn’t needed at all) and go all the way right. When the path goes down, shoot at the wall to the right above the small platform next to it to destroy a secret wall, then head into the next room and down for your fourth Healing Core. Break yet another destructible wall at the right of the room and head back up to the tube; save next to the Big Bot again. Destroy the gate at the right side of the tube via Coburns and head right for a room, then head up into Blake’s Stroll. Go to the right pathway from here. IF YOU SEE A PALE WHITE BORDER AFTER ENTERING THIS ROOM (
for reference) IMMEDIATELY LEAVE THE ROOM AND RE-ENTER IT UNTIL IT GOES AWAY TO AVOID FIGHTING DOLLY.
Head straight to the Crash Site (after breaking one more wall) from there to return the Component. Quit to the main menu once you wake up.

Step Four: Return the Component in Roslock Drift Gamma
Once again from your original spot head down, a bit left, then down again. In the next room shoot to the left wall to break it, keep going left and eventually down to enter Junkpit. When you’re going down the big corridor use the Spike Shoes to enter the top-left room, from there head left till you reach Roslock Drift Gamma. Unlike the first Component there isn’t anything special to mention with getting this one aside from the fact that you won’t fight Henirette 2 due to you not having done the first fight yet, which is why we’re getting this Component now. Once you grab the Component head back to the room right before where the boss should be and head up; break the middle of the ceiling. From here head back the way you came; once you make it back to the Big Bot repeat the route detailed in the previous step. DO NOT SAVE AT THE BIG BOT, but you can approach the flower there (or at the Crash Site) to restore your health and Healing Cores. Again, once you wake up, return to the main menu.

Step Five: Return the Component in Junkpit
Make sure you exit to dashboard before going through with this step regardless of if you’re going for the deathless achievement or not, as your Cores won’t be restored upon respawning if you die to Henirette, unless if you delete your local save data and re-sync to your cloud data.

If you followed through with my advice you’ll be back where you got the second Component. Head right and break the wall at the end. From here head down to fight Henirette. Only tips I can really give are remember that dashes give you invulnerability frames if the dash has cooled down (i.e the bar above the Deadsuit has disappeared) and study her attacks carefully, was able to beat her thrice in a row with only 3 Healing Cores used up that way (the first two wins had a setback afterwards that forced me to redo the fight, the second of which was deleting my save data everywhere by accident). Once you’ve defeated her head right for the Component. Head back up (but carefully because of the mechanical buggers) and right two rooms before breaking the middle of the floor at the centre of the third for your fifth and final Healing Core, which we’ve grabbed after the fight to restore your other four Cores. Head right, then up, and then left two rooms to find a flower, which I’d recommend saving at (we will not be abusing them to save time for the rest of the run). Head all the way up the room right from where you’ve saved and the room after it, then go right, top-right, and top-left twice. You’ll have returned to the corridor mentioned in the previous step; go up the right side and from there retrace your steps back to the Crash Site identically as last time. Feel free to save once you’ve reached the Crash Site.

Step Six: Return the Component in Stumbledeep
After waking up, retrace your steps in Step Two until you reach the red wall found in the second room of Roslock Drift Beta (from where we’ve entered the area). Destroy it with Coburns. Head all the way down in the next room and left the room after that to reach Stumbledeep. From here, head down and destroy the breakable wall at the left of you once you enter the water before going down the next two rooms. Head left, then right to reach the boss in this biome, which you can just ignore; destroy the breakable wall at the right of the room instead to find the Component. Head to the upper-left pathway in the next room and destroy the breakable wall to the left in the room after that. From here, head back up and retrace your steps back to the Crash Site.

Step Seven: Victory Lap
After waking up, head left for about three rooms. At the third you should see a big wall you can wall jump up, do so. You’ll find the Component in a hole in the next room; return it to the Crash Site (just make sure not to stay close to Construct in the third room for too long or else you’ll lose ~20 seconds).

After waking up for the last time, immediately head to the laboratory found at Stoffbloom. If you need a reminder, from the Big Bot in the region head left, down, and then right to the entrance. Talk to Saymund to get him to open it. Once you get onto the floor with the Big Bot, dash like mad (or don’t, you should have plenty of time) to get to the other side; if you do so fast enough it will not fight you and you can head straight to the device controlling the static field to finish the run.

Time appears to be locked and final as soon as

Should but I cannot confirm.

Also regarding KumAlx‘s comment on just quitting to dashboard you do run the risk of your run being forfeit (if combined with the deathless achievement) if you don’t do so quickly enough; deleting your local save data doesn’t have such a risk as long as you don’t rush it.

Excellent guide and video. toast Completed it pretty comfortably in 1 hour 15.

Does the Pause menu stops the timer ?
Definitely doesn't pause the in game timer. I loaded my completed save at 1h 15m, paused and waited about 10 minutes then resaved. Now the game time shows 1h 26m.

As far as I can tell with the last update, which was only about a month ago, pausing the game now stops the timer(If it already didn't pause before anyway). I tested it by pausing the game and going to the records where it shows your current gameplay time, and let a minute or two go by. It didn't go up when I unpaused and then went back to the records.

I think with this update you take even less damage on Explorer mode as well.

FYI “Pausing” with the “Back” button (that opens the map) doesn’t appear to stop the timer but actually pausing with the “Start” button does.

Thank you for putting up a true guide for this one. Making my first attempt at it now rock

UPDATE: In following the video, I made additional saves at almost every save point I passed to make restarting easier if I died. So I took additional steps and used extra time and still finished in 1h30m. There is room to find an extra item or two if you are having trouble with the ONE boss fight you need to complete to finish the game, but it is simple enough to complete without leveling up once. I did pick up every godseed I passed as well to boost stats with those, but never needed to level up. Overall easy achievement following this video. If you dashboard->quit if/when you die each time, it's easy to pair this with the complete without dying achievement.

Thanks for the write up, I definitely used it as a guideline, but I couldn't follow it perfectly due to a choice I regret very much lol. I wound up doing this on Original mode since I did explorer for my 100%. Doing that makes the first 2 areas much harder since you get locked in with hard hitting enemies. I wound up using a video by the same guy as the one in the solution, he has the WR for original, and that helped a bit. Also, the Painwheel weapon found in Six-Finger Woods, in the room mentioned where you have to jump across the small platforms, is absolutely necessary. That thing destroys Henirette, I actually spent a few minutes back tracking to get the weapon after missing it in my initial run through that place. The few minutes were worth it though, as I was struggling without it. Finished the run in 1h 48m and got the no death achievement along with the original mode achievement.

It is not necessary to own a flash drive and make a backup. It is enough to exit the game through the gamepad, most importantly through the menu. Remember, the start button does not interrupt time. Take the optimal route, along the way I advise you to take healers, grab a spear, a wheel, pump up damage and HP. Modules are not important.
