Once you destroy all three rifts a countdown will appear at the top middle of your screen. Wait till it hits below 30 seconds to capture your ghost. Make sure you have your trap down and open before tethering the ghost. What also helps is if you use the p.k.e blast to stun the ghost so he doesn't get away before time runs out.
