How to unlock the Terrifying achievement in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition - Definitive Guide

I wrote this as a separate solution because I keep adding in tips to it, but I don't want to take away from Ashdo's solution which you may find easier than mine! I'm just offering this as an alternative incase you can't seem to manage otherwise.

I loaded up the prison map and tried to round as many people up in the library. The room with the dummys at the table. ~behind this, the room with the large bell!

I chose Wraith in the Ghouly ghost type as my ghost and just focused on his ultimate ability when I had more people rounded up than necessary.

Starting in the basement I scared whoever was down there out and then blocked access to the top of the two main stairways.

- You can sort of use props and furniture to block stairs and doorways to keep people in there or stop them from going down in the basement.

Round up more than 5 if possible and then get as many as possible in one go.

You do have a 10 Second window! So once you have used your ultimate and fully frightened as many civis as you can
- quickly go around and try and get another scare or two before quitting and retrying.

You can press Y to attract people over too which may come in handy.
It might be worth blocking doorways to keep the busters out too but don't try too hard on this.

It may also be worth jumping into one of the props you block doorways with to regain your energy before your attack

If you don't manage to get it, quit and restart all over and just keep trying persistently. All I can recommend really.

In my run, I ended up somehow with more civilians on the mezzanine platform above the library than on the ground, so I used my Ultimate on all those above and then dropped down and spooked as many below as quickly as I could and was very lucky.

I spent hours attempting this achievement though, quitting and restarting so don't expect to get lucky straight away with this!

Outside of general gameplay and RNG, as for actually trying to "force" the achievement, i'd definitely say this is the way to go in terms of boosting for it!

This was a great plan - though I managed it on the Lodge, lots of people in the Grand Lounge and just above with a couple well placed scares. There are also a lot of good door blockers with vending machines and carts everywhere. (I did get very lucky with 4 civilians getting stuck on the stairs after I blocked it and then ran for the 5th).

This worked on the first try for me but as the poster above had suggested, play on lodge. Round everyone up in the main floor. I did not even need to move objects to block anything. Seems a better idea because lodge is a smaller map.

Maybe this means something or maybe it is coincidence. I had the daily challenge to scare 25 people with my minions. I was tooling around with Bramble on the prison level just spawning minions and letting them do their thing. Towards the end of the match, I went in to the room with the big bell and there were 7 Civilians just milling about. I think my minions somehow got them in there with the bots calming them down. I was not trying to do this but I would spawn them and go hide until the minions recharged. I turned the corner into the bell room and was like JACKPOT!! Popped his special and roared, they were Donzo lol

Maybe I got lucky? I did notice more milling about in there than when I was trying so I decided to pop in there and check. Hope it helps but this cheevo is a pain

Now that is interesting! I'll put this to test the next time I'm free to do so and I'll include this as an update along with the previous tips tried and tested! Interesting to note.

Even if this doesn't precisely work, I'll see if there's anyway we can manipulate it to our favour and guide them like that.

Having a really hard time with this! Verrry tricky! Mostly trying on the prison but I’ll try the lodge!

Likely the most difficult achievement in the game due to the RNG involved! All we can really offer is tips!

  • Ideally try and get each civ’s fear up as high as possible individually before going for the achievement.
  • Try and bunch the civ’s together so you can terrify multiple at once!
  • Use the howler ghost, their added scare range helps!
  • Use the cn_Y ability to get the biggest scare impact, then pick off any stragglers who need finishing off!
  • I’d recommend a small map, it stops the civ’s getting too far. The brewery was my preference.
  • Try, try and try again! Don’t give up as there’s a lot of luck involved!

Honestly, this is probably the worst achievement in the game, thanks for the tips tho, they're good. Doubt I'll be able to get the achiev

@TAKT CheesyBell, That's actually an amazing tip that I never even considered about using the props to block the civ's into rooms! Definitely worth a shot to get it!

we select the prison map and the ghost of the screamer, on the map there will be mannequins playing chess, we need to block the far passage, where the stairs are, with all sorts of heavy objects, they can be taken below, for example, washing machines, 4 pieces will definitely be enough, then you need to scare people, they will all run into the room with mannequins, but they will not be able to get out, since the passage is blocked, as soon as you collect them there, use your ult, be sure to scratch people before that so that they become at least yellow.
