Ghostwire: Tokyo

Spirits are the blue clusters commonly found on the streets, rooftops, underground, buildings, Hyakki Yako encounters, containment cubes and are also awarded for completing Side Quests.

They are a form of collectibles and making a video guide for this would be WAY too strenuous for anyone due to the excessive amount of spirits in the game.

There are 240,300 spirits (each cluster tends to give 100, 250-2000 for anything that’s not related to open world exploration) in the entire map of Tokyo. You absolutely SHOULD grab any and all you can see during the course of the game, but don’t go out of your way to 100% all areas early on, it’ll be much easier later on.

On Chapter 4, all gates will become available in the world. As you cleanse the Torii Gates in the world, you will typically be able to collect Prayer Beads right next to said gates.

You will receive “Spirit Perception” Prayer Beads from both Hitani Shrine and Saihama Building Rooftop Torii Gates. Each providing 100 meters of spirit detection, stacking up to 200 meters.

Equip the prayer beads in the inventory menu. To use spirit perception, trigger Spectral Vision with . A blue orb will spawn and travel in the direction of the closest spirit cluster in the world (up to 200m), so if you ever struggle finding any spirits, they’ll help locate exactly where the spirit is.

Simply grind away on these to 100% the map. There is now approximately 110% of spirits in the game, 10% or so was added in as part of the Spider’s Thread Update, so you don’t need to obtain them all.

EXTRA TIPS

*If you ever find yourself with 100% completions in the streets in all areas but have less than 100% in an area (high list the Torii Gate for individual zone tracking), then you probably need to explore the Shibuya Underground locations and obtain the remaining ones. If you zoom out all the way on the map, you’ll have a tab in the right that will show how many spirits you collected overall (including Underground, Containment Cubes and Hyakki Yako).

*Complete all Containment Cube events the second you see them, they’re blue boxes that spawn in the sky and visitors will rapidly spawn in to try and break them, do not let them. It’s typically 3 waves of enemies. **You can farm towards your 200 Quick Purges, 50 Bow kills/20 Bow Headshots and Talisman specific achievements here too, enemies will focus on the cube and will only react when you are right next to them (basically touching) or had engaged them in combat. So takedown fast!

*Complete Hyakki Yako (The Demon Parade) events. The most common spawn point is actually the initial point where the game starts, at the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, just to the right of the Morite Shrine. Just pass by every now and again, try and knock these out before you finish Chapter 4. You can also go to an offering box and donate 5K meika to increase spawn chances drastically.

**You should obtain the summon tengu and increase glide time abilities to make traversal easier across rooftops. There is also a talisman that spawns a whirlwind that propels you in the air, you can use those until you get the abilities.

If you’re going to collect the spirits it must be done before you complete Chapter 4. However after you beat the game you enter the Point of no Return and you can mop up any other spirits or collections left in the city.
