To reach the true ending you must beat difficulty 1-4 it will unlock after you win a run on difficulty 4 specifically but fair warning it may soft lock during the end cutscene preventing you from obtaining the other achievement you would get being emperor baller.
If you avoid buying weapons and abilities only buying upgrades(with glitch coins before runs start) you can build a very broken (from left to right on ball select) 3rd ball. Using rocket jump and discs going for as much ability damage and CD as possible. Grab the double money and damage increase for higher money. This will make it possible for you to essentially one shot most enemies on difficulty 4 and made it so i didnt even take damage in the last 10 zones yes thats right 10 zones(inlcuding shops and bosses).

The update today seems to have fixed this problem. I just unlocked the achievements for the true ending and the fourth unlocked difficulty. No soft locks, though there is still a problem with sound effects glitching.

I can't make those abilities pop up. I reset my progress and bought all the upgrades, but I cannot seem to build anything strong enough to survive a full run on difficulty 2, let alone whatever 4 is going to bring.
