How to unlock the Hat Simulator achievement in Goat Simulator - Definitive Guide

This is done in Goat Bay City which can be loaded from the main menu.

To buy all hats, you have to find and bring a stack of money, 1 for every hat, to the NPC in the Weathers store across the street from the giant skyscraper. There are 6 hats total.

ProjectSix - "Didn't unlock for me the 1st time but I was just bringing the cash in and didn't select a hat each time. The 2nd time I brought money and made sure to select a hat at the window. That unlocked it. The achievement just says to buy all hats but that may be the difference."

Done this twice now and it's not popping for me.. not sure what I am doing wrong.

Seems like the achievements might be a little glitchy in this game. A few people have told me they've had trouble with them.

The first time I tried it, I went into the store tearing everything up. I scared the shopkeeper into the corner. I did all 6, but noticed one of the red hats was glitched and sitting in mid-air. No achievement. I think me going into the store too reckless messed things up. The second time, I went in very carefully and made each purchase. Unlocked.

yes be careful about being reckless. You have to be slow and patient while in the shop. Took me a 2nd time as well.

I had some trouble on the windows 10 version. I was picking up the red bike helmet but I couldn't see it on my goat. After 2 failed attempts, I turned all mutators off and tried again. Unlocked on that attempt.

If you're having trouble, worth turning everything off just to see if that helps.

There are several locations where you can find money to buy hats at Weathers, the hat store, in Goat Bay City.

There are ten locations (That I know of) for the money. The easiest way to do this is to grab the money from the restaurant (Numbers 5-8 below) and the two in the Put-in Hotel (3-4).

1: Immediately from spawn, walk down the street and on the back side of the big blue house, there is a gravel path. Walk onto it and into the white house. Go up the stairs and to the right into the green room. The money is located on the dresser in between the beds.

The rest are in close proximity to Weathers.

2: There is a stack behind the front desk of the hotel. It is on a smaller desk against the back wall with a monitor and speakers.

3-4: There are two more in the upstairs area in the lobby of the hotel. Run up the stairs and all the way to end of the right to find a row of backless chairs against the wall.

5-8: Looking towards Weathers and the other shop from the front of the hotel, turn right and head to the small path beside the yellow building (along the left side of the river). From here, walk towards a restaurant area and there will be four stacks of money on the tables.

9: Another stack in behind the convenience store beside Weathers. The stack is on the checkout area.

10: At the club near the back of the hotel, there is a stack on the large desk at the back of the room.

11: There's some money under the lift up to the rollercoaster - you can grab it from underneath when it raises up (Thanks to Bridge88).

12-13: There's also two in the drug house ("Magic sugar") - one in the same room as the sugar, and one in the bedroom where the guy is using the computer, on a bookshelf (Thanks to Bridge88 again).

Once you have the money, head back to Weathers and give it to the clerk.

In the interest of making as much of a one-stop-shop as possible apart from collectibles, I've compiled all 28 achievements that aren't related to the two big sets of collectibles into one video.

For Hat Simulator, head to Goat Bay City and grab 5 piles of cash (there are more than 5 scattered around the map) and take them to the hat store to collect the 5 hats. This can be seen at the 26:08 mark in the video below.

Make sure you pick a hat after every stack brought as well.

Additional note: when I did the first time. I didn't get the trophy notification and it was like not working. Tried many time over 2 different days... I just realised it was somehow unlocked just now, when earning other trophy (and I'm sure it wasn't earlier today because I did retry again but it never pop-up).
So I believe there are potentially bugs. If you got all the hats, just wait a 2-3days later... It may suddenly pop-up.
I have similar issue with other trophy for this game..

This is attainable in Goat City Bay.

Standing facing the front of the hotel skyscraper, turn around and the hat store called "Weathers" is directly across the street. There are six hats being showcased in the display window that you need to purchase, but you need money first. When you locate a bundle of money, lick it and bring it back to the store and "give" it to the clerk behind the counter (you can only carry one bundle at a time). Each time you do this, the message "HAT SIMULATOR!" will appear on screen. You can then choose one hat from the window. Wear all six for the achievement.

I have found 11 bundles of money at these locations: 

  • Facing the hat store, go to the right and before you cross the bridge, turn left down the small alleyway. There is a café on the left with tables outside. There are four piles of money on these tables.
  • In the hotel, there is one bundle of money behind the front desk on the first floor sitting on a desk and two bundles sitting on tables on the second floor.
  • In the glassed-in hotel lounge area (behind the hotel overlooking the water) is one bundle sitting on the counter.
  • One of the vendor stands along the water outside of the hotel has one bundle.
  • On the ground underneath the roller coaster elevator is one bundle.
  • In a house with an attached garage with a woman sitting at the dinner table is one bundle.

Note: If you are carrying money and are not attacking people and the message "DO NO HARM" appears on the screen, the bundle you are carrying will disappear. If this happens, just go to another location and pick up another bundle.

Two stacks of cash are in the pink house with the large pool.
Two stacks of cash are in the upper floor of the skyscraper on the far side.
One stack of cash is in the shop next door behind the counter.
One stack of cash is behind the elevator for the roller coaster.

The trophy is buggy, I did everything as in the video - the trophy did not fall out. If some trophies do not appear, then try restarting the game

After purchasing a hat, do not forget to pick it up from the display case to the right of the cash register. The trophy is really glitchy. I bought six or even more pieces, but didn’t pick them up from the counter - they didn’t fall out. After restarting the game I decided to pick up hats just in case - everything fell out

To prevent the trophy from being damaged, do not destroy the hat shop under any circumstances, all 6 hats in the display case by the window must be in their places, after you give the money you need to carefully point the goat’s head at one of the hats and so on 6 hats, the main thing is patience and accuracy !

Around the corner in the same building as the hat shop there is a cafe, there is money on all the tables, just take it and most of the hats are bought

Yeah, the trophy is glitchy, restarting the game helps. In total you need to buy 6 hats, 4 packs of money can be found around the corner in a cafe on the tables, 2 packs are opposite the store in the skyscraper below. We grab a pack of
and drag it to the seller’s table)))

Try not to break anything when dragging money, they sometimes fall under the textures
