How to unlock the Survivalist achievement in Goat Simulator - Definitive Guide

Recommended Mutators: Angel Goat, Double Jump, Casual Goat, No Hunger Goat

Crafting items is as simple as dragging items to a crafting station by licking them. As soon as both items are on, they'll be consumed. Because of this, be careful when taking the Sugar Pack, as it'll combine with anything.

Additionally, be careful of headbutting while you're taking an item to a crafting station, especially if you have a one-time item like the various signs. If you accidentally headbutt it, it could go flying and it's as good as gone.

I'd also recommend doing the vehicles last; I don't know why, but any time I built all three, the game would crash shortly thereafter. It could be superstition, but be forewarned.

The three stations are:
1) On the street you spawn.
2) Behind the mall, next to the barn all boarded up.
3) Next to Studio 1, up the hill to the right of the mall.

WEAPONS
Gumshot
Gumball Machine: Inside the spawn crafting station.
Beer Bong: Behind the spawn station house.

Heartbreaker
Twig Man: Inside the main circus tent, on the back row of the bleachers behind the elephant.
Wedding Cake: Behind the spawn station house.

The Relaxer
Vial of Goo: Inside the fortune teller's tent at the circus.
Broken Minifun: On the table in the spawn crafting station.

The Antiquer
Mousetrap: Against the wall of the spawn crafting station.
Bag of Flour: Behind the spawn station house.

Mind Controller
Boombox: Facing the fortune teller's tent, double jump and you'll see a red cave in the mountain behind it. The boombox is inside on the right.
Crystal Ball: Inside the fortune teller's tent at the circus.

Skateboard
Skate Sign: Exit the studio crafting station to the right. Continue past Studio 1, and on the right is a skate park. The sign is on top of a building behind the right side of the skate park.

Sweet Ride
Furiously Fast Neon Sign: Exit the studio crafting station to the right. Continue past Studio 1, and on the right is a skate park. The sign is on a building to the left before the skate park.
Road Block: You had to pass the road blocks to get that sign.

NOTE: This frequently glitched on me. As soon as I brought the second item in, I would be forced into the floor, the game would start lagging, until I suddenly respawned at the church. Any time I pressed Y, it would open the crafting blueprint, whether I was at a crafting station or not. To fix this, I had to go back to the station I built the Sweet Ride. Just entering and exiting fixed the Y issue.

Home Security
Stand: In Studio 1, there are stage lights on very tall poles. These poles are the stands you need.
Baked Beans: In Studio 2, in the very back there is a cooking show. There are baked beans to the left and right, but the camera changes as you get closer, so you may need to cause a bit of carnage to get them somewhere a bit easier to pick up.

Shelter for Goats
Home Sweet Home Sign: From the barn crafting station, go behind the house to see a path leading up a hill towards the church where you spawn in normal mode. While facing the church, look to the left to see a tombstone. Headbutt it and it should be a Secretive Tombstone. This opens the church; the sign is inside, to the right, on the front of the altar. This is a one of a kind item, don't lose it to the zombies outside!
Plank: The barricades at both ends of the street from the spawn crafting station have several planks in them.

FASHION
All fashion requires a Fashion item. The two easiest places to find it are the first floor of the mall, second store on the right behind the right window, and Studio 2 has shirts hanging up that count as Fashion.

Sneaking Boots
The Moon: Inside Studio 2, there's a moon prop against the middle of the left wall on a star backdrop.

Realist Tail
Pack of Nails: Across from the barn crafting station is a construction site. Packs of nails will be strewn about, looking like opened boxes.

Makeshift Backpack
Fan: Exit the spawn crafting station turning right. Go down the street and turn right, you'll see a vendor stand with a fan on it.

Journeying Scarf
Toilet Paper: Second floor of the mall, back right, men's bathroom, visible from the entrance.

Just now getting around to playing the 360 version. It is different and items are not as plentiful as on the ONE version. Wish someone had posted a guide for it. It is also very glitchy, more than the usual.

Also, I had the Home Sweet Home sign glitch on me a bunch. It frequently moves through walls, get stuck in environment, and moves on it's own. It was the last recipe I needed to craft and it did all of these things. I would recommend crafting Shelter for Goats first by bringing a plank to the crafting area first and then bringing the Home Sweet Home sign.

Great guide, makes it soooo much easier finding all these things so thanks a lot smile
If I however should add one thing it would be to add a note to the Home,Sweet Home sign which has a tendency to either disappear or get stuck down in the grave behind "Chainsaw Charlie" a tip I found through Google said to NOT headbutt him as this is what makes the sign "glitch" so a little note saying "ignore Chainsaw Charles completely & just go straight for the sign & out again" would avoid people having to start ALL OVER after doing all the above items, which seems to be the only solution,my sign is stuck in the wall down inside the grave so I can see just unable to get it rollfacepalmwarningcryangry

yeah, there a few fans around, the solution just mentions one since that's all you need... actually I think it's only the Signs that are unique items that you CAN'T find any where else & only the Home sweet home sign that can cause problems

Thanks for the solution. I had a problem with this unlocking, I had crafted all the weapons in one play session and then came back and crafted the rest - no achievement. Next day I did them all in one go and it unlocked. I suspect that they must be done all in one go.

You might want to add that it helps a lot using the inventory goat mutator, as this allows you to put all items in your inventory (hence the name). Saves the hassle of going back and forth for each item (and getting your moon stuck in the wall for example).

To reiterate: There is an additional fan in the coffee stain studio house, located right by the Outbreak spawn

Achievement is glitched. Some items you complete will make the noise, but it won't say you completed it. Like the clothing. Did all 4 clothing, made the noise, didn't get the completed message, an didn't get the clothing. Done it twice now, an still nothing

What do you mean you have tried several times..? To build the fashion items or all the items..? You need to build all items if you start over ... don't worry if you don't get the fashion items after you build them just try to build all items & then if it doesn't pop try the 4 fashion items again ... It is a glitchy game, I had a sign glitch & had to start all over so did all items in 1 go to avoid problems which luckily worked wouldn't have done it again 😀 Good Luck wave

So is there a reason that neither of these would pop after doing them? I should have known something was up when the weapon one didn't go off...

EDIT: Did the requirements for the minfun achievement and nothing popped either. I assume it is lagging...gonna try another game altogether and see what's going on with achievements.

Please put the Shelter for Goats/Home Sweet Home sign at the top. I got all the way to the end, went into the church and the sign was not there. This specific item is glitched for many people and can save them a lot of time.

I found a 2nd Home Sweet Home sign by pure luck while I was searching for a 2nd fan cause I had lost it.
In the Coffee Stain Studio house, just in front of crafting area of the spawn point, there is the 2nd sign on the first floor on a wall.
And guess what, there is also a 2nd fan on the second floor.

Thank you so much for this wonderful guide. I have only one issue and that is on the barrel when you craft crowd control. I followed your instructions around the corner of the house and that barrel just would not work for me.

When you look at the required items for making it in the crafting area it appears to be a wooden barrel. I did a lot of hunting and I found some in the clothing shop on the bottom floor of the mall. Due to some internet issues I have from living in BFE I had the "opportunity" to redo this about 5 times. Out of those 5 attempts the barrels in the clothing shop worked 2 times. The other three, and I believe the better barrel for the job as it worked all three times I used it, is located on the beach front by the boat dock between the store fronts and the water.

I felt that EVERYTHING else in this guide is perfect and wonderfully done. Thank you for your hard work!

Anyone know if this is glitched? I've done this several times and it doesnt unlock. I've noticed all clothing items (e.g moonboots) craft but dont appear on my goat, and the title of them doesnt appear on screen both items just disappear and the sound effect of cheering plays.

@Garbage Punk
Well it's been unlocked an hour ago so still working & while some of the items you need to find can glitch on you (like the sign I've mentioned above) I haven't heard ANY talk about the achievement itself glitching so are you 100% sure that you've crafted ALL the craftable items?
The craftable items are different & some do just disappear after crafting (if I remember it right you can find them in the mutators section) but you just need to craft them, you don't need to use them & the cheering means that you've done it right, then you just need to craft ALL the other craftable items too, as mentioned on the list above, good luck :)

Yeah, don't hold your breath, I asked for this 3,5 year ago so either the author don't care or more likely simply doesn't read new comments on his/her solutions ... think you need to change a setting somewhere to get a PM whenever a comment is made on a thread you've previously commented on, don't think you automatically get one if a comment is made on one of your solutions & since some have 100's of solutions, it would be hard to keep track smile

For the boombox, instead of going all the way back to the circus area, there is one on the barrier, between the two arches right in front of the mall.
Also, for the plank required for the skateboard, instead of going all the way back to the spawn area, simply go back to behind the skate park and walk into the tower to the left of the "skate" sign. It will fall down and give you at least 6 planks.

This method doesn't seem available anymore because of a recent update. Inventory mutator isn't available apart from in mmo dlc. They changed the whole interface for mutators from what I can see.

Crafting parts only appear in ‘GoatZ - After Outbreak.’

Since you have to do this in one game, it’s okay to respawn if necessary but you cannot restart or else you will have to start over again. Note that crafting parts do not respawn within the same game, so if you lose an item, you have to find another one.

There are a total of 17 items to craft. Five of them are for weapons that are required to unlock “The Goa’th amendment.” Each item requires two parts. You need to locate, lick then drag them to one of the three crafting garages. This is not hard as it is time consuming. Below is a list of every craftable item and what parts are needed for it.

There is no way to track this other than the achievement unlocking, so it is recommended you keep a list and cross it off when you've crafted the item.

Weapons:

  • The Gumshot
    • Gumball Machine - Spawn house crafting garage
    • Beer Bong - Behind the spawn house
  • The Heartbreaker
    • Twig Man - In the big circus tent sitting on the bleachers to the left
    • Wedding Cake - Sitting on a table in where the judges are sitting in the waterpark
  • The Relaxer
    • Vial of Goo - At the back of the fortune teller’s tent
    • Broken Minifun - Spawn house crafting garage
  • The Antiquer
    • Mousetrap - Spawn house crafting garage
    • Bag of Flour - Sitting on the ground behind the Coffee Stain Studios house
  • The Mind Controller
    • Boombox - Sitting on a table behind the Coffee Stain Studios house
    • Crystal Ball - There is a pile of them just inside the fortune teller’s tent

Survival:

Note: If you have the ‘Inventory’ mutator, there is an easier way to unlock this achievement (refer to the “Inventory Chest Mutator” section in the roadmap).

Instead of licking and dragging each part back to the garage one by one, you can lick the part then press to place it in your inventory. That way, you can go around the map and collect all the parts you need, saving you a good deal of time. To retrieve the parts, while at a crafting station, press to open your inventory, select the part and press and it will drop to the ground. Keep repeating this until both this and “The Goa’th amendment” unlock.

Crafting parts only appear in ‘GoatZ - After Outbreak’.

Since you have to do this in one game, it’s okay to respawn if necessary but you cannot restart or else you will have to start over again. Note that crafting parts do not respawn within the same game, so if you lose an item, you have to find another one.

There are a total of 17 items to craft. Five of them are for weapons that are required to unlock “The Goa’th amendment”. Each item requires two parts.
