This unlocked for me on the Desert Tree, Level 11. That being said, I hit the same amethyst several times in a row so conceivably this could be unlocked on the first level of the Desert Tree.

Amethysts are introduced in the Desert Tree, the sixth and final chapter. They are purple crystals that can be changed from either reflective or transparent. This achievement is cumulative and will unlock by the time you complete the Desert Tree.
