I'm not sure if this is difficulty dependent or not but Krannus's guards have about 3.5 health bars of red dots so get one down to one health bar then the other then kill them quickly. I found the mushroom item to boost attack damage, the item the prevents enemies attacks from interrupting yours and the speed boost item were very helpful to ensure I could kill them quickly. Also make sure you have a very strong character (high strength, 3+ star weapon) before attempting this. I used an iron spear for this.
