How to unlock the Warmonger achievement in Godstrike - Definitive Guide
Story Related.
Cindael is the 9th boss you'll go up against and you'll start with a time of 5:10. When you defeat Sentiel for Unchained , you'll unlock the Moonlight Spears and Sand of Time abilities, the later of which is incredibly useful. For your active abilities, I do recommended sticking with the same layout that you had with Sentiel (Arcade Shield, Overload, Future Rhythm and True Aim). For your passives, equip Thick Skin, Rapid Fire, Reaper and Sand of Time. The main thing you need to know about this fight is in regards to the arena. You'll be in a circular area with a "fence" of green swords. If you get too close to these, they will hit you so you want to sort of dwell around the middle as much as possible. This boss fight has 4 phases to it:
Phase 1: The 1st phase will be pretty basic. Just keep moving and running around Cindael while firing everything you can at him. Collect as many souls as you can and use your Overload and True Aim abilities as often as you can.
Phase 2: The 2nd phase will be full of more aggressive attacks. Cindael will have a spinning attack that you'll need to dodge while also dodging the sword fence surrounding the fight area. He also has a 3-part attack where he'll swing out in front of him and summon swords/scythes up from the ground to try and hit you. As long as you're constantly moving, you should be good.
Phase 3: The 3rd phase will be phase 2 intensified. Most of the attacks will be the same but they'll be much stronger and faster. He also has an additional attack where he'll fire off a ring of spinning scythes that aren't very easy to dodge. If they're the smaller scythes, they'll fly out and then back to him. If they're the larger scythes, they'll fly out but not back in so you can run up to him and attack him. If he backs away from you and pauses for a second, he's about to crack the ground in front of him. You'll know where the cracks will be as there will be a visible line on the ground (I'm not sure if this was intentional or an actual programming mistake but just keep an eye out for it none the less).
Phase 4: The final phase will be the previous 3 all put together. He will move a lot faster during this phase so as mentioned above, you want to make sure you're always moving. The attacks will for the most part be the same idea, the one with the biggest difference being his spin attack. When he does it here, he'll actually pull the sword fence in, giving you very little room to move. This is a good place to use your Arcane Shield if it's up. When he does his ground crack attack, there will be about 6-7 cracks instead of the normal 3 so just try your best to keep an eye out for the lines that appear right beforehand.
Once you defeat him, the trophy will unlock. If you need a visual reference for this fight, please see the video provided under Guardian . This fight starts at 25:49.
