This achievement requires completing the Caverns level on 00 Agent difficulty in less than 9:30.

This level is on the longer side and is also fairly difficult. Surviving isn't easy and it's also possible to accidentally fail objectives, particularly towards the end. Here's my video guide with commentary:

The problem i have with this level is the lack of ammo. Best run i had was 9.31 argghhhhhh

For anyone having problems with ammo, most of the wooden crates in this level contain ammo supplies. Very helpful for this difficulty.

One thing I can think of is people hate video solutions.
I personally do as well, but some things (Such as speedruns like this) basically require video.
The video itself does exactly what it's supposed to do so that's all I can think of

A written guide for this speedrun with adequate detail would be absurdly long and honestly far less helpful than a video with commentary.

Just had a good run on this but the last blast door in the tunnel says "locked"

I have Card A and B

So cool, a really decent run ruined. I had everything completed, only minimize scientists killed and the door just won't open

Probably help if I had Card C.... can't believe I missed it

I used the PP7 for a lot of the level on 00 agent, helps with ammo and also seems to keep all the guards from coming at the same time. Eventually switched to the AR and had plenty of ammo to finish out the level with it.

2:30 use a couple timed mines on those boxes, they have ammo in them if you’re low. All groups of boxes have ammo in them on this level, these ones are just the most convenient since there are plenty of them bunched together and they are along the path taken.

Is it required to use strafe run controls via dpad for this? I feel like you move a lot faster but I struggle with some of the tighter movements with the dpad.

Yeah... That's not 00 agent. There's no body armor in that first pump room on double 00.

For anyone having trouble, don't worry about the time. You have lots. I ran back a couple times clearing enemies on catwalks, took time to blow up some ammo dumps, carefully aimed some shots so I didn't blow up the radio. Only used D Pad strifing going up the swirly cave, and I still did it in like 7 minutes.

Was getting anxious about this one while playing through the campaign. But turned out to be rather easy. Finished this in 2 tries (first try that radio thing blew up). I thought that Control was a bit harder, since they kept killing Natalya.

Jesus, after like 40 attempts, I finally got it at 8:37. I had problems with ammo until I read these comments about the boxes containing ammo and it helped A LOT.

Using the windows at 6 mins in was the game changer for me! That and using the ACR to snipe as many enemies were let to this level! Finished on 08:30 without rushing (using strafe run for the long spiral path - also let allows you to shoot the one guard before he meets up with the other guy at the door)

Strafing with the D pad isn’t required for any of the achievements. It’s just helpful because it allows you to move more quickly. But you definitely can do everything with the left stick, which is how I did it before I even knew about the increased speed with the D pad.

And the world record run on N64… You’ll notice it’s the Japanese version. They left all the body armor in. Likely on accident.

This time is quite lenient, with it taking nowhere near this long to complete this level, as long as you know the route to take (as well as getting the ammo stash to get a huge amount of extra ammo). This level is more about not dying, since there are tons of elite enemies, most with very powerful guns. Thankfully, you get their guns right away and can use that to gun them down quickly. The other main sticking point with this mission is ensuring you don't accidentally blow up the radio before you contact Jack Wade. You will want to have decent health by that point because the safest way is to run in, purposely taking damage, so you can shoot the enemies away from the barrels instead of toward them. Refer to the following video that shows a great route to take, which makes it much easier than it otherwise would be. It's really important to get the first few rooms down so you take little or no damage there, because you'll definitely take damage in the room with the radio.
