How to unlock the A Legend is Born achievement in Gord - Definitive Guide

I popped this against the first boss Ardaven which is found on the second level. I used a team of 3 Axe, 3 Archers, a scout (for the light) and one child on normal difficulty.

- Firstly follow the initial quests, build up your Gord with the resource structures and gather enough to build at least 1 Axe and 1 Archer building as well as the Temple. You will also need 100-200 food and 600+ Faith for spells.

- You can make a few soldiers and roam the map freeing captives from camps to boost your numbers (I found 2), by the time you do this 1-2 children should be born. Also follow the quest path on the right side of the map to discover the boss, you can trigger the boss fight at any time with a dialogue option.

- Gather your army of axes, archers, scouts and children and make a manual save in front of the boss. You must kill the boss in one go as saving mid fight will reset the bosses health whilst leaving your people still injured/dead. (bug or save scum prevention possibly) DO NOT fight during the rain as the boss receives a buff of +50 damage.

- My fight strategy was melee in front, archers behind and the child running in circles to aggro the spider swarm aoe attack away from the fighting. Casting Utility spell Haze on your group will give you 100% damage mitigation for a short time and support spell Battlecry can also boost damage. The child does so little damage it will be tricky to time when to withdraw your fighters, the boss' health bar is purple and it had less than 1mm left and it still took the child 6 throws to kill it. Definitely use haze to hide the child as the kid will die quickly.

Notes - Play on easy mode as your people are a bit more durable.
- Make a manual save to retry the fight as needed, I reloaded 10 or so times as controlling combat is
very finicky (my soldiers would kill it and the child would die) don't forget to use pause.
- DO NOT fight during the rain as the boss receives a buff of +50 damage.

Apologies for the text wall, hope this helps people out.
