How to unlock the Prestigious achievement in Gotham City Impostors - Definitive Guide

*** Working method

Play now> challenges> Ace chemicals> pick challenge> exit game (when countdown begins works just fine)> play now> team deathmatch> sign out then sign back in and press a to continue.

This took about 95 seconds to earn a minimum of 10000-30000 XP depebding on rank in game the higher the rank the more gifted XP.

***apparently the below method has been patched I will leave it for reference.

There is an XP glitch for this game.
After completing a match in any game type it will show you the mvps after this you will get a loading screen and then it will place you into the lobby at this point simply goto the dashboard and return to the game to see your xp spike 10-20K

It has been said that it doesnt work properly until you hit level 53

***Read this for the remainder of the achievement as xp isn't everything!

The rest of the guide is just to help you with the other achievements

Now with that being said work toward your winning on every map for every playlist/gamemode. This can be frustrating as you will end up with 4 out of 5 and in my case I won on each map until finally it decided to give it to me so that can be buggy but eventually it will give it to you.

For the gadget achievement just equip the targeting goggles to your class you only need to kill 500 tagged enemies and tag 1000 enemies you should average near 50 tags a game and around 15 tagged kills if you are skilled at the game

my loadout is always nimble. I also run with the shield... The guns that I used where the gatekeeper with the partisan... Extended mags when you do empty out a clip switch guns to finish your kill rather than reloading. Know where the supply points are they will save you if you encounter someone while you are at a supply point move out and in to gain health to give you the advantage. If you take any damage retreat to grab some health

Now when you find the gun that suits you just go through the list completing the challenges for the different weapon attachments. ALWAYS aim for the head not only will you have to get 500 of these kills but it will almost always guarantee you getting more kills then deaths.

Your 50 Nemesis kills
these should come naturally as I got mine at level 60 I am now at 80 with 75 (I also MVP almost every game)

Focus on playing psych warfare as in this game mode you need to obtain 50 panic slap kills which also requires you to be losing... These will be hard as when the enemy team plants the battery and the counter goes down you get demoralized and will not have any ranged attacks only the melee panic slap. The enemy team always has you on radar making it a real pain in the --- to get close enough to slap the enemy go for the smaller characters as it is more challenging to multiple slap the heavier ones. I also have been pairing up with people inviting the ones with mics to a party telling them they can win if they let me have the panic slaps.

The 50 gold medals sounds intimidating but really its easy there is an excess of medals so you dont even need to do any of the challenging challenges. Just do all the easy ones for each map and then pick through the intermediate challenges that you want to complete to finish off this achievement.

Now just force your way through to that 200GS Good Luck

Definitely works. I think the XP gain is proportional to your level, though. I used this when I was in the mid 90's and I was getting about 80K per game. It took a couple of games to move each level.

still 70% faster :D I think they did in spite of the game sending people to the dashboard mid-game to compensate for lost XP

By That505Guy on 13 Apr 2013 11:50
Much faster. It was taking closer to 15-20 games per level legit, and that was finishing most in the top three.

I can't seem to get the glitch to work, I've tried dashboarding at different times, I've even watched vids, but still nothing. I did some research and people seem to say that the XP glitch wont work until you are Level 50-60, which makes sense as it seems the vids the guy was in the 60's, and most people say it worked are in the 80s/90s.

I started trying in my high 30's, am not level 47 and have dashboarded every game with no luck, I'll post back and see if it starts working after I hit Level 50.

If I remember correctly you just dashboard after it shows you the xp earned from that match and I do believe I was 50+ rank when I first found this out.

I did notice you get more xp the higher your rank is...

I found the magic Level this will start working at, Level 53. This was not working for me until about lvl 48 and it was only giving me 1500 xp each time. Then on the match i hit 53 i did it and it gave me ~12k, played a few more matches and got 10-12k each time.

So in short, the glitch will not work properly until you hit Level 53, if its not working for you after that then you're doing something wrong

One guy taught me this!

You go to a challenge! Then quit the challenge.
Then go to for example Bounty hunter.
Hopefully the game wont start. If it doesnt and you sit there waiting, just go to dashboard from there.

Start the game again and get xp.

So no need to play any games!

tried this out and this is what I found: you don't need to select the challenges, all you need to do is have the matchmaking screem load up, thats it, but it has to be at the matchmaking screen for it to work and then dashboard before you get in to a lobby, 10k xp almost every 2 minutes.

I can confirm that the still glitch works. After the game loads back into the lobby and totals up your XP, dashboard taking note of what your XP is. Load the game back up, go to track record, multiplayer stats, and it should have gone up quite a bit. I got 20000+.

By AboveAverageDad on 04 Jul 2014 03:55
Ok wow. You can actually dashboard from the multiplayer stats page in your track record and still get the XP. Not sure how many times in a row you can do this, but in my experience it has varied. Just play another game once you stop getting XP or you can go to edit loadouts and back out so the game will save. Go back to multiplayer stats and dash.

@SaluteToLunacy: By Matchmaking screen, you mean the "Play Now!" screen?

By NeverUnlucky#344 on 06 Jul 2014 18:44
The best way to do the xp glitch is to do what MattiasAnderson said but instead, return to the main menu after selecting a challenge (e.g. Ace Chemical) and then go to Play Now, Team Deathmatch. As soon as you see the matchmaking screen, immediately hit the Xbox button on the controller and sign out. Then sign back in and press a to continue. I timed this and this took about 95 seconds to earn a minimum of 10000 xp.

Yeah, I can confirm that the old xp glitch mentioned in this guide is patched, but this new xp glitch works. I started using this glitch at level 64, but I think it would work from level 53 onwards.

@ GuTiCid: Yes, literally sign out of your Xbox Live account. Then sign back into the account you want to get the achievement unlocked on.

Not to do with the prestige achievement but the motion tracker is alot easier than the tracking goggles, and doesn't leave you vulnerable while using it. Just takes deploying the tracker, and tracking enemies. And it recharges quickly as well

By Quarantane on 17 Jul 2014 02:31
The only reason I said the goggles is because that is what I prefered while playing... my guide might not be the fastest but if used properly you are guaranteed to get the achievement by the time you hit 100... of course I dont want you to completely mimic my play style but perhaps build your own techniques... I hope it helps though...

I just did it with the new method. Go to play now, challenges, ace chemical then back out go to play now team deathmatch then xbox guide button then press x for sign out then sign in then check your multiplayer record and stats and you will see the xp went up. I started doing this at lvl 58 maybe and it took around 1-2 hours i think

It doesn't work... Whats is the "matchmaking screen", is it when the game is searching for a group of players, or is it when you are waiting for the game to begin ?

Another thing, do I have to quit the challenge as soon as it is loaded or do I have to wait until the challenge begins ?

To clarify just in case:
Play now
challenges
Ace chemicals
pick challenge
exit game (when countdown begins works just fine)
play now
team deathmatch
when it says "searching for group" press xbox guide button and sign out
sign back in rinse and repeat until achieved
as of August 11th 2014 still works started at level 69 laugh

Do you need to be a certain level to get the new method to work? I'm 29 and it won't work. How about the dashboarding method?

0
By Robhill on 19 Aug 2014 22:03
Another quick reminder: You have to be in rank 50 or so for it to work. You have to go through pain in order to gain those levels; after that, do the trick. (To be honest, to get to 50 is really not that hard, the game is bad that's all). If 50 does not work, keep trying every time you rank up.
0
0
By Jv freakgamer on 20 Aug 2014 03:31
And what's the fastest way to level 50? Boosting? Or a certain game mode? I get a fair few kills in death matches but still level up really slowly

By Robhill on 20 Aug 2014 07:58
After getting the winnings cheevo, I only played psych warfare its the COD version of sabotage; its 10-12-15 minutes of game (added 15 in case of sudden death if both teams are tied). Go for challenges, headshots, and most of the time winning. Playing with friends also helps to kill time.

I used a combo of That505Guy and Gameboy679 's solutions, and will post my experiences under both solutions.

I started the sign-out (That505Guy) & dashboard (Gameboy679) methods around level 58. They both yielded the same 22,500XP boost each time. I say I used a combo because I found that by signing out and still being prompted for the WBID crap, I didn't have to take the extra steps of loading into a challenge map, then signing out when searching for TDM ...

*I could sign out as soon as I got to the main menu, after checking my XP gain with Start->View Player Info !!! *

I'm not sure if it is needed to do a "regular" sign-out first (going from challenges to TDM), but I certainly started there, then found that I could just hit Guide Button -> X to sign out from the main menu, sign-in again, Guide Button to hide guide, A, A, then "Remind me later" on WBID page, then Start to check my XP gain!

It took me around 87 iterations to go from 58 to 99 (just under 100 ... I wanted to hit 100 in a real game, haha). I have to think this is a little bit faster than loading into a challenge map each time.

Doing this without any xp glitches. I've got 30k experience left and am closing in on 45 hours played, just for anyones information if they want to know how much play time you need to do it legit. Of choose that's just ballpark, everyone will be a bit different depending on skill and psych profiles etc.

By Quarantane on 25 Aug 2014 22:51
The only reason I dont add a guide to level 50 is because I included a full guide on jow to get all the challenges which has my full loadout/playstyle which is probably being a bit abused by TA players

The working method works great, but your solution could use some clarity. I had to read the comment to figure out when to sign out. The solution would be more clear if you specify when to sign out as well as when to sign back in.

You should post a solution spxyu02. Your explanation is a little more clearer & simple for the glitch. I started from level 55 & it's working fine. Earning 20-25k per sign in.

I am signed up to WBID so it logs me in every time but glitch still works.

By EBR 665 on 31 Jan 2024 22:19
Still works today. The way I did it was : go to challenges > start a challenge > quit the challenge as soon as the countdown for the challenge proper starts > search for a deathmatch lobby > when you're in the lobby (I usually did this before I was fully loaded in the lobby and the 1 minute-ish clock appears) press the Xbox button on the controller and sign out of your profile > sign back in on your profile and return to main menu. By the end of this solo boosting, I was earning 45k exp per successful glitches.
One thing to look out for is a notice about corrupted data (after you've signed back in to your profile) that will cancel your exp glitch. When that happened, completing one challenge before starting another challenge and quitting this one usually did the trick. Also it appears that picking a different challenge to quit out of every time helped preventing those corrupted data instances but don't quote me on that.

Important note - if after quitting a challenge, back at the main menu you get an error message saying it failed to save... hit retry and watch the top-right of the screen for the "Saving content..." message. You might get this error message multiple times in a row; just keep hitting retry till it succeeds (shouldn't happen more than 3 times in a row). Wait for the "Saving content..." message to disappear before heading into Team Deathmatch queue.

In the Secret Identity menu there is an option called "Accept promotion".
This will be locked when u start the game for the first time and will remain locked untill you reach lvl 100.
At level 100 you can accept your promotion which will net you the achievement
Once you've accepted you'll automatically become lvl 101 and the menu will be locked again.

You can accept a promotion every 100 lvls up untill lvl 1001.
For every promotion you'll get a different grade, and calling card background.
Lvl 501 and lvl 1001 will also unlock a mascott.
The amount of experience needed will also reset when accepting a promotion; for example getting from lvl 101 to 102 takes the same amount of XP as getting from lvl 1 to lvl 2 or as getting from lvl 701 tot lvl 702.

After accepting your first promotion you will also be able to do the Legendary Feats of Prowess

*Attention*
When you accept a promotion you will lose all your weapons, mods, funfacts, psych profiles, support items, and gadgets.
You will only keep weapon skins, mascotts, calling cards and costumes.
Therefore it's better to get the other achievements like "Gearhead" and "Weapons Specialist" before you get this one.

Feats of Prowess (challenges) will also be reset when accepting a promotion, with the exception of the "Lifetime Feats".
This means you don't have to get the Nemasaurus achievement before acepting a promotion as the counter will not be reset.

I recently obtained this achievement and I can confirm there is something rather glitchy with the Exp in this game. It may not work for everyone, but me and my friend noticed that if you play a game, than go to the dashboard once it's over, you will obtain a large amount of exp ( I was getting about half the bar filled in the 90+ level range ) the next time you load the game up. If someone else would like to try this and confirm it, that would be great.

I didn't do It this way but healing with codependant on ace chemical. if you can get a group of people to jump in the chemical vat near fumigation 1. You will get thousands of points quick. Use care package to keep everyone alive and just have them jump in and everyone heal each other. win win for everyone since health goes down like crazy. use mighties with horsehealthy and care package motivate loadout with codependant psyche.

I found nice glitch for exp in this game :) Every time when I played again I saw that I have about 20-30k more exp than I finished the game previous time :) so yesterday I started the game and immediately I left next I started the game again and I had 22k exp more. I did it about 5 times and it always work. I didn't play only go to menu and next to dashboard and every time I got 22k exp :)

IMPORTANT!!!I always press remind me next time in worner bros ID. If you don't press it glitch doesn't work I checked it.

if u pressed earlier skip WBID: don't remind me go to help & options -> WBID and press remind me next time :)

You should post a solution spxyu02. Your explanation is much clearer & simple. I started from level 55 & it's working fine. Earning 20-25k per sign in.

I am signed up to WBID so it logs me in every time but glitch still works.

This achievement will take a while to unlock... but if you are enjoying the game you will feel like it was yesterday ! I Suggest that you play the challenges first and earn the experience available there and also get use to the maps, game mechanics and weapons before hopping into multiplayer.

To unlock this achievement you need to reach Level 100. Once you reach level 100 you will unlock the option "Accept Promotion" in Secret Identity. In order for the achievement to pop you will have to accept the promotion. You will be asked if you are sure because if you accept it you will lose everything except weapon skins, mascotts, calling cards and costumes. Once you are sure and accept the achievement will pop and you will be level 101.

Note: It will be better if you unlock other time consuming cumulative achievements like: Gearhead (http://goo.gl/Vish4A), Weapon Specialist (http://goo.gl/cbIPl8) and Slap Happy (http://goo.gl/YZgRoV) because if you don't you will have to start from the scratch.

Good luck and enjoy the game !

When you reach level 100 you will be able to accept a promotion, getting to level 100 will take 2,5000,000 EXP so complete as many Feats of Prowess as you can.

No longer possible due to server closure.

Total XP needed for level 100 - 2,500,000

This will take some time to get and will most likely be the last trophy you get if you followed the Road Map. I highly recommend using different weapons and doing all the challenges with them as well as the gadget challenges and item challenges.

I found this glitch the other day and it 100% works every time, see my video below for how to do it:

This glitch will give you 31,500 XP every time!

TEXT GUIDE
Step 1. Search or a match
Step 2. Finish the match
Step 3. Quit back to the main menu
Step 4. Quit the game via the PS Button
Step 5. Start the game back up
Step 6. Bask in the success of free xp!
