This achievement's description is somewhat misleading. Because the phrase "turn the tables" often implies victory, one might interpret it to mean you must WIN a Fumigation match after coming dangerously close to losing it. This is NOT the case!

To be clear, this achievement corresponds directly with the Feat called Turning the Tide. It does NOT correspond with the feat of the same name, Hero of the Hour. That feat is, believe it or not, completely unrelated to this achievement.*

The description for Turning the Tide reads: Capture a second Gasblaster when the enemy team’s victory is imminent.

“Imminent victory” is defined as a team having control of all three gasblasters, with their gas total reaching 90%. At that point an alarm sounds and the sky turns an ominous red if you are about to lose (for the team with 90% the sky turns a glorious green).

Your team must then recapture at least two gasblasters. And that’s it! You don’t need to maintain control of them in order to regain gas percentage. All you need to do is CAPTURE TWO GASBLASTERS after the alarm sounds and the sky turns red. These two captures must be concurrent so that your team controls two of the three.

Really, it's not so much turning the tide as it is producing a slight momentum shift.** As long as you are in imminent danger of losing, the achievement pops the moment you capture the second gasblaster, even as the enemy's gas total is still near 90%. I won this achievement the instant I captured our second gasblaster under a red sky, in the middle of a match we ended up losing.

To view the feat linked to this achievement, choose Track Record > Feats of Prowess > Game Modes > Fumigation > Turning the Tide. Unfortunately, the Game Modes category of feats (and all corresponding XP bonuses) cannot be accessed until you reach level 35, but the achievement is unlockable from day one.

NOTE: There are conflicting reports as to whether this achievement is awarded only to the individual who captures the second gasblaster, or if it's awarded to everyone on that team. Some have said it only unlocked if they were the one who captured the second gasblaster, yet others have reported that it popped when they were nowhere near a gasblaster. Please comment if you can offer any insight here.

EDIT: GsO Light affirms that the achievement unlocks for the whole team. If anyone else can confirm this, that would be great.


ALSO: Some have reported a glitch whereby this achievement unlocks prematurely. Please see the comments regarding that.



*The description for the feat Hero of the Hour reads: In Fumigation, finish a match with double the score of the player in second place.

**In the context of Fumigation's gameplay, the expressions "turn the tables" and "turning the tide" would imply that you were able to get out of the ditch gas percentage-wise, improving from 10% to at least 51%.

If you are not playing with your friends or boosting it in order to plan things this achievement requires some luck...

To unlock the achievement your team must capture 2 or more gasblasters when the enemy has over 90%. As you can see in the video you will unlock it even if the enemy is trying to get the gasblasters back. As soon as you have 2 or more gasblasters even for a second during their 90%+ it will pop.
