How to unlock the He'd Be So Proud of You achievement in Gotham Knights - Definitive Guide
Can only be unlocked in New Game+
You are capped at level 30 in your first play through. New game plus increases the level to 40 which is the max. You will only need to level from 30-40 in new game plus, it does not reset levels.
I’d recommend doing most other achievements before starting a new game due to some enemies being locked until further into the story.

Thanks for this. Just got to level 30 on a friends game and didn’t pop so I thought it was bugged.

I’m currently lvl 26. So when I start Newgame+ am I still lvl 30? Or do I have to start over at lvl 1?

If you've played through Heroic Assault and Showdown Title Update and have completed this achievement:
Then this will be a cinch, assuming you are using Level 60 suit/melee/ranged equipment. Heroic Assault is available in NG+ as soon as you get to the Belfry for the first time. I found Floor 17 to be the fastest way of grinding XP: I was getting 140K-150K XP with each run through. I was able to get from Level 30 to Level 40 in about 8 playthroughs of Floor 17 (60-70 minutes.) With Level 60 equipment, you are basically invincible - worst case you may have to use one health pack.

Assuming you have maxed out your gear in the base game, you can start New Game +, progress the story to the point where you have full access to the Belfrey, then farm the Talia Al Ghul showdown. I did this with a maxed out Batgirl on very easy and defeated her on an average of 25-30 seconds. This gives you 30k xp per victory. This gets you to level 40 VERY quickly (compared to just doing the story again).
All I did was instantly start spamming my melee attack the second the fight starts, she would retreat to the middle of the arena to heal, I would continue attacking her with melee until the first phase is completed. In the second phase, again I would spam melee her until she starts healing and then instantly use the Jackhammer ability (RB and hold X) to instantly defeat her.
Again, this is assuming you start NG+ with level 75-80 gear you got from the base game.
You can use any maxed out character other than Batgirl, but I did it with her :)

To earn this trophy you'll First need to complete the game.
The 1st playthrough you finish will have the highest level cap of 30.

This increases the level cap to 40 and unlocks this trophy.
Save as many collectable trophies till this run, the manuscripts themselves are 7k xp each.
You can either spam very high crimes to get max xp out of the or complete upto case 06 and you'll get enough xp for the trophy.

Fight enemies, complete challenges, and find collectibles to earn XP in the open world to level up - it's as simple as that. By the time you've completed everything in this guide and completed the game, you should have reached the maximum level of 30. Except, that isn't actually the maximum level. No, instead you'll need to start a New Game+ from the main menu, which will increase the level cap to 40. Play through the game again and grind XP until you reach level 40, and the achievement will be yours.

Maximum level 40.
It turns out only in NG+, since on the first playthrough the maximum is 30th.

Reached level 40 relatively quickly by replaying the fight with Talia al Ghul in Showdown. You get 30,000 experience per entry, and the battle time did not exceed 30 seconds.
Robin was chosen as the main character. The equipment on the character was level 80, obtained by completing two dlcs. The difficulty of the game is very easy, according to the plot I advanced to the task where I need to pay a visit to the Penguin, and I completed the additional tasks related to Harley and Frieza. After defeating the latter and returning to base, items appeared to the right of the motorcycle that allow you to start the Showdown battle. Then he consistently repeated the battle with Thalia until the trophy dropped. For me it was killed in 3-5 critical hits.
