Sport mode will be available after completing menu 9. Sport mode is a competitive multiplayer mode with leaderboard rankings. There is great emphasis on employing your racing skills, and you will be penalized for hitting course boundaries or other racers. Avoiding these penalties is crucial to ensure you finish the race, as too many penalties can result in a DNF. The mode will also match you against opponents around your skill level in an effort to promote fairness. Sport mode features time periodic matchmaking, typically in 20 minute intervals.

Each Sport race will take ~10 minutes, leaving you with ~10 minutes to work on other trophies between Sport races. Prioritize taking clean lines and finishing the race should be no problem. After completing your first Sport mode race, this trophy will be yours while en route to Bronze In-Depth Mastery.
