Grand Theft Auto IV

Here is a video walkthrough for this achievement that I found on Youtube, authored by 007craft, as well as a link for the map with the corresponding numbers.

There are 200 pigeons hidden around Liberty City. To obtain this achievement, you need to kill all of them.

Note: DO NOT kill pigeons while you are on a mission. If you fail the mission, the kill will be reset (i.e. it won't count) but the pigeon won't respawn. Thanks to UnjustlyVicious in the comments for this note.

This achievement is Not quick to obtain so if your going for this achievement do remember it'll take time.

It took me atleast 2 days to obtain becouse i killled 100 Flying Rats a day.
This is the best way to do it that way it would be done quicker to achieve.

i used this map to find all 200 and i found it realy realy helpfull and im sure alot of you would aswell.

For 50 Gamerscore i would say it was well worth the effort.
I found this achievement fun. i just sat listend to music and got to work. I find doing that helps me focus on game's.

All i can say that hasnt been repeated by others is that if you really are going for this then DONT GIVE UP HALFWAY THROUGH! Trust me, theres nothing worse than having to figure out how many pigeons you have killed, witch ones you still need to kill and how many are left when you carry on doing it.

That link is the best guide for all 200 pigeons in my opinion, I would also either download a checklist or copy a map of the pigeons into microsoft paint, and mark off each pigeon as you get them in game. For some pigeons the picture in the guide may not be good enough, so a quick search on youtube might show you how to get the pigeon from a different perspective, e.g If you need pigeon no.102, search for "GTA IV pigeons 100-150", and then follow the video.

Also, you should listen to music or talk to a friend while going for all 200 flying rats, because this will take your mind off the fact that you will be driving around for hours shooting birds.

I would also suggest you take a break every few pigeons, otherwise you will tire yourself out quickly.

It took me and a friend about 12 hours to get them all, so overall it sounds a lot worse than it actually is.

Some further tips which I found useful:

- If you can help it, try not to kill any pigeons until you're starting out for this achievement. If, like me, you've already killed a few, make a note of the locations where you've already killed a pigeon when you're going through the guide - if you come up short, you'll have a much smaller list of places to recheck.

- Try to only use the pistol or sniper rifle when killing the pigeons. Using automatic weapons is much more likely to attract the cops. (obviously, there are occasions listed in the guide where you'll need a grenade or rocket)

- Most pigeons can be shot while you're in a car or motorcycle, making it quicker for you to move to your next location or make a speedy getaway should the cops get involved. Don't forget to press X to switch to the pistol - this seems to reset everytime you enter the vehicle.

- Save regularly and make a note of where you got up to when you save. You never know when you may have a power outage or your Xbox freezes.

You have to kill the 200 Pigeons throughout All the Islands of the city...
Seems Simple enough.

There are some good Maps & Video's out there, that i Definetly recommend using both, but this is Definetly one of the Longer Achievements, so be ready for the long-haul for *this one.


Couple Pointers:

First, make sure you do this After the main story, so you don't forget which you have gotten already...and make sure you put your Phone on SILENT mode first, so you aren't interrupted by friend's wanting to hang out.

Second; you will need Plenty of Ammo & Armor (can call Jacob for guns while phone is on silent still)..

Third; you are gonna have to make sure you have a Full day or so to do this one, there are 200 "Flying Rats"... Get yourself Comfortable, and get yourself a Car you don't mind losing, and can drive consistently without flipping.

Fourth... Make sure there are no Cops within the Block that can see you, sometimes it is inevitable that Cops will be at the same places, and gta4 cops are insane...lol... Especially at the Airport.

Fifth: you Will need a Helicopter to get to a few of these.... And won't get on the Cops radar at the Airport this way... But you will inevitably lose a few Choppers on the Way... Just hail a Taxi, make the "Heli Rides" on Map.... Quick and easy...Go steal one... Then get back to the next Pigeon on your list...also bring a *Sniper just to make a Few of them easier from a Distance. And allot are at Heights

Sixth-- Cops will get super annoying... If you can get to your Apartment, & Save... It will stop your wanted level... Or go to a Garage. As long as you park your Car/Home watever in the Yellow line's, you can walk 2 blocks till you see it Despawn, then walk back for a Fresh Car.

7th: enjoy some Music..Don't take it too seriously... Get to learn the streets, it will help you allot for the 100% achievements

#9th; not all of the Pigeons "glow Red" and can be a little hard to spot... You can usually hear the Audio when one is nearby tho... Again, you will need both a Map & YouTube video for the visual cues as well.... There are just allot that can be pretty hard to get to, but many you can get from your car/bike without getting out
