This achievement needs to be done in a ranked regular race (NOT a GTA race). Also make sure that damage is enabled, which it usually is be default.

I got mine doing a boat race. Its pretty hard to destroy your boat, so all you have to do is win. I personally liked using the tropic boat the best for races, even though it isn't the best going off of jumps. The Jetmax is also a popular choice.

Helicopter races are also a decent choice if you are good at flying those buggers. The Annihilator is the fastest of the helicopters.

For helicopter and boat races, it helps to have played the tracks a few times to get familiar with where the gates will be.

Don't forget that for boats you can use RB to make tighter turns, and for helicopters you can use RB and LB to quickly turn your tail rotor.(thanks RawwrBag).

One problem you may find with doing a helicopter or boat race is that most other people do not like to do these and there is a good chance that you will be booted as host.

...and of course there is always the problem of actually winning too. This will just come with time and practice, and a bit of luck to not get wiped out by someone else.

This could be one of the easiest or one of the hardest to get online. Usually in a race everyone is all over the place crashing an flipping out of control, for this achievement you need to play a standard race with damage on an win without damaging you car to bad which means you need to go to category race type road damage normal laps one map anything you think you can handle without to much car on car combat, traffic parked an that is a must other wise itll be crazy hard trying to take turns. Then you play the match, its much easier if you can convince the other person to hit ready when theres two of you in the lobby then your chances are 99% better unless the person is just better then you the game tends to equal things out with the online lag that occasionally happen

This achievement is fairly difficult to write an exact method for, as a lot of the factors are out of your control. You may end up with someone who is only there to cause trouble, intentionally ramming your car for example.

However, there are a few tips that may help:

1) If you are playing against people with a low rank, they often make mistakes entering the first corner. Try holding back to avoid any pile-up that might occur.

2) Practise the tracks. This may sound obvious, but a good knowledge of the track and where to brake will ensure the best chance of winning.

3) If after a few races you're nowhere near the top, try quitting out and joining a different lobby. You may have more luck with a different set of players.

This can be done with one other person. From the singleplayer game, pull up your phone, enter the Menu and select Multiplayer.

You’re going to want your preferences to look like this:

Auto-Aim
Disallow

Police
Off

Friendly Fire
On

Setting it this way allows for the likelihood of crossing randoms to be a minimum. Make sure both players going for the achievement have it set this way.

Now start up a Ranked Race (make sure it isn’t a GTA Race). If you don’t match up right away, keep searching for a new game (Back button) until you do.

Set the game settings to look like this:

Race Class - Supercars
Track - Stars in your Eyes
Laps - 1
Vehicle Damage - Normal
Traffic - Off
Weather - Clear

Start up the game and after you cross the finish line, the achievement will pop.
