You can get this achievement on this version the same as the 360.
For the people unable to watch the video after you finish the main story invest all the money you have into a single company after you buy as much as you can sell all,rinse and repeat till the achievement pops,obviously the more money you have the faster it will be I did mine after all lester assassinations

I did read up on the assassination investments till after the bus one. After final mission I did the last assassination and ended up with about 160 million between the three characters. Only had to invest all 60m for one character to get the achievement to pop. Presuming I'd already spent the rest during normal game play.

Doesn't work anymore. If I invest 40 million in a stock, I get 100K back when I sell all of it.

EDIT: it really depends on which stock you buy. LifeInvader worked for me. Other stocks gave me either no money at all and everything was gone. Or the stock didn't even show up in my portfolio.

I've spent over 600 million with all 3 characters on stock market and nothing... I did all except Lester's missions after main story and invested it in stock market to get the most money from those missions. The solid gold and 100% achievements Unlocked just fine after that so I don't think it's xbox live acting funky again

After power cycling my Xbox and unplugging it for 30 seconds,then reloading the game, it unlocked after about a minute. Prior to that it was at 0%

There's a glitch if you're doing the stock market thing. Make sure your bought shares show up in your portfolio before you save again. Mine disappeared and I had to replay like six hours of the story.

but this method still works 27th May 2015

i had completed the game not doing lester stocks as i go along missed out on all cash so iv been messing around with the stocks, and i put a 27 million dollar stock on and it gave me the achievement the counter wasnt going up still says i was on 12% so maybe its hit or miss glitched? but people should still try it

EDIT: Found a new way to get unlimited money (PATCHED - you need to uninstall the game and install it again offline to this to work but you can´t connect online as it will install the update):

I can confirm you can do the buy all and sell all thing during the campaign. Where you spend all your money then sell it right after for like triple what you spent or whatever it is. I did this before I even got to playing as Trevor.

you need to use the stock with the lowest negative return for example (-28.74%) for this trick to work, so it doesn't need to be the merryweather stock.

I have to make a correction, it was my mistake. Although xMidget Furyx makes a great point. Lifeinvader at -77% netted me from 2.7 mil to 21 mil in one sell. Amazing.

This isn't working for me. I just lose a dollar every couple sells. Using LifeInvader at -76.94%. Followed the video Midget Fury posted exactly and it doesn't work.

There was a patch this morning that I got. I was watching the YouTube video Midget posted and everyone was commenting that it no longer works with the patch.

I just uninstalled the game, disconnected from the internet, and reinstalled without the patch. It works without the patch.

Doing it offline isn't an issue. Just got 1bil+ on all three characters and am loading up the game online now. Still easy if you don't mind spending a few minutes re-installing stuff.

You can work the assassination missions after you complete the story mode. Then keep buying and selling stocks. You won't make money you'll actually lose some money. However it's the fastest way to spend the money

March 15, 2015, uninstalled game, re-installed and within 15 minutes each character has 2.1 billion. I'm 70% thru the game.

Just as a note, as I got to my third character, another stock had moved up higher than Lifeinvader (cluckinbell), if you use that stock (again for me cluckinbell) it does not work, but if you choose Lifeinvader, it worked just fine.

You don't need to do any of this. When you finish the final mission and your characters have $XX million, simply buy stocks with every penny then immediately sell it again. Rinse and repeat until you've spent $200 million. Technically you're spending the same money over and over again, but it works.

I know it's in there, mate. I didn't think it was very clear for people just looking for the achievement, and given it's the quickest and easiest way to get the achievement -- assuming you're going to complete the game -- I was just making a note on the highest rated solution.
No offence but I was looking for a quick and simple way to get the achievement, not how to make money.

you do not need to wait for the end of the story mode to do this, I did this after the mission where franklin repos the car from Michael. This video explains it better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NU3W3hiA1U
You do need to follow the steps for selling the stocks exactly like the video or else it won't work (I used the REDWOOD stock for the glitch)

I missed this during the assassination missions and thought I was totally screwed. After finishing the last mission I started trying to make money through the stock market the old fashioned way. So with 15+ million dollars for each character I would invest all of it and sell it all rather quickly due to having no patience and not wanting to take any losses. After investing 15 million, selling the stocks and repeating (roughly ten times I'm guessing), I got the achievement. It turns out that investing money counts as money spent whether you make a profit or not.

To put it simply, just invest all of your money in any stock, immediately sell the stock, rinse and repeat. This method won't make you a ton of money, but it will get you the achievement easily if you miss the opportunity during the assassination missions.

Excellent solution. Took less than 10 minutes to do across all three characters, and you make a little money on top too (if you save once or twice to forward time).

EASY SOLUTION FOR AFTER LAST HEIST MISSION

Once you have completed the final mission in story mode, each character will have roughly 16 million each. Pick a character, go online to the stock market website, invest all of your money in one company, sell all your shares, buy them again, sell them again, until you have reached the achievement.

Hope this helps, took me about 5 minutes to complete.

Not a guide, but a side note to anyone using the assassination/stock market method to get money. I noticed that the stock for insurance goes up as well after you started killing people (who knew). Probably more so than the companies you invest in to gain money. On mine, AuguryInsurance (AUG) increased by 67.93% after the second assassination (the Debonaire one)

I haven't unlocked this achievement, but here we go.

The easiest and by far most efficient method is to complete the story line, and play Lester's assasination missions. You can play the first one, since you don't get anything (major) on the stock market related to happen

The second one (Multi-target assassination) however, can have up to 400% worth of ROI. Before you're starting the mission, invest all of your money on all 3 characters into Debonaire cigarettes, as this company will skyrocket after completing this mission. After completion of the assassination, sleep with Michael, as his sleeping time is 6 hours compared to Franklin's 10 and Trevors 12, and watch the stocks rise.

Don't wait too long, because the stocks can plummet, and you'll have absolutely nothing.
