How to unlock the Altruist Acolyte achievement in Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One) - Definitive Guide

Trevor is the only character you can do this with. After playing the story mission, "Friends Reunited," you arrive in Los Santos and will already be playing as nutjob Trevor. Round the block from Floyd's safehouse, you will find a drunk couple (displayed as a blue blip) who needs a ride home. This is the easiest time to get the achievement in my opinion.

Deliver them to the Altruist camp, which will appear as an A on the map near Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness (Northern Blaine County). Set a waypoint to the A, and follow the purple route, NOT the yellow one, the yellow one leads to the couple's house which will NOT get you the achievement.

The achievement will unlock once you deliver them to their DOOOOOM! A walkthrough video kindly provided by NEO182 is below, from his randomchievos channel on YouTube.

NOTE: There's a strange phenomenon happening just lately with the Achievement system on the Xbox One. Achievements aren't popping visibly or audibly, but they do. Your console has to be connected to Live, so if they don't pop, check your Internet connection, and the Xbox Live status page at http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status

They DO pop correctly, as I obtained them on the 360 version.

Worth noting, you can run out of random event people to deliver. I think there are 10 opportunities total - need to be playing as Trevor, and drive the person you pick up to the A on the map instead of the yellow marker at least once.

One of the few missable events in the game is unlocked by delivering 4 people to the cult. Events where you drop off 2 people count as 2 towards the 4. This ends the side quest/unlocks a special event, where you can make 100k and get access to a bunch of respawning weapons.

No achievement or 100% progress for doing this, but if you want to see everything in the game it's something you can do.

@ClaytThaGreat: You can do it with random hitchhikers too, it doesn't have to be a drunk couple :)

You can get this much sooner, right after the 1st mission with Trevor, Mr>philips.

There is a drunk couple near the barber shop closest to his trailer.

The Achievement system issue is a console wide problem that still hasn't been fixed. If you snap the Achievements app, you'll see the achievement tracked to 100% but not visually or audibly unlocked. Restart your console, and they usually appear, nad gamerscore updated.

If you turned them to the yellow checkpoint (their house). Is there any way to do it again if you already did it one way?

Can someone explain why this one (and the others) are missable? Is there something that needs to be finished before the game is over or is there a character that can leave the game for whatever reason? Just want to avoid replaying a game so I don't mess up.

not sure, but you can def encounter other opportunities for this during the game so it's not a single chance. Its just random so it might take a while to spawn another chance

Its missable because there is multiple endings to the game.

Certain endings make certain achievements missable.

I am online, and I've delivered people to the Altruist Cult twice and the cheevo still isn't popping. Is there a way to fix that, or will it just not work?

I managed to do this achievement randomly even after losing the drunk couple at the beginning of the game, while walking at night on a Saturday around 02:00 (In Game Times), a lost climber on Mount Chiliad, asked me for help claiming to be lost, I marked the place mentioned by the guide, took it to the altruistic cult site and the achievement unlocked.

There's been problems with MS's Xbox One achievement system because it needs to be online. This issue is popping up a lot just lately and it's happened to me.

My solution isn't at fault, I even tried it on a fresh gamertag, it popped as it should.

There are no random events spawning for me. I was driving to every possible hitchhiker or drunk driver spot for like 5 hours. Even other random events stopped spawning. Thats the last achievement i need to do but it is impossible for me. This happend after i hit 100% in singleplayer. Maybe if you reach 100%, random events stop spawning.

Hello, to get this achievement you must be playing with Trevor.

Basically you need to find an event of interaction and help someone who will ride, and then you can take her to the cult Altruist and will receive $ 1000 in Exchange for the person. Doing this will get the achievement "Alstruist Acolyte".

The most difficult part however is to find the event in which you ask for a ride, for that show in the video a position where there is one of these events.

(Excuse me for the video be without sound, I believe it's some bug in DVR application)

When you reach the position that charted, you will see 3 people, a woman tied up on the floor and two gunmen, finish with the two men and woman ask for a ride, then get the car that will be close to them and open the map, looking for an "A" which is where the cult is located, follow the purple route until the cult and deliver the woman as soon as you do you will win $ 1000 and the achiev.

Short and Sweet way to do this.

1. After Trevor's first mission OR at any point where he can pick up random strangers and take them to their destination you will receive the option to drop them off at the altruist cult for a fee.
2. Set the GPS and drive them there, but be careful if you scare them they could run away if you crash etc.
3. Drop them off and proceed to laugh.

I realize this guide is awful when worded but there isn't much you can say other than go here and do this. And be lucky that the random event pops up.
