How to unlock the Off the Plane achievement in Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox One) - Definitive Guide

Simply create a new character, then when it asks if you want to skip the tutorial, select No. It is just a video showing you around, and Lamar picking you up to drive you home.

Once Lamar drops you off, the achievement unlocks.

NOTE: If you imported your existing character, this won't unlock, you can create a second character.

I transferred my existing character and this achievement unlocked automatically after a few minutes of online play.

Thanks for that Aberrant! It didn't unlock for me within an hour, so I had to create a new one. I only downloaded the patch this morning so that may have been why.

Same here, I can confirm that the achievement will and can unlock if you import your existing character created on the Xbox360. Worked for me that way!

Just posting that it did not unlock for me after importing my character. Will try creating a new char tonight and see what happens.

My Achievement did not pop on the point where Lemar dropped me off at the parking lot for the first race.

I tried three times. It popped on the third when I walked into the blue circle. I didn’t do that the other times

I have found a workaround for those who did not unlock this achievement when transferring characters. Back in the early days when people characters would randomly vanish, I made my primary character in slot 2, hoping my original would show back up. Seems in the transfer they move all data to the first slot (as evidenced by all your cars on one character being moved to the garages that are higher on your list when you call the mechanic). So to pop any missing achievements, load up your slot 1 character, play a short job (criminal records land race. 30 seconds.) and your achievement will pop while loading back into freemode.
