How to unlock the Altruist Acolyte achievement in Grand Theft Auto V - Definitive Guide

While driving around with Trevor you will, from time to time, get a Strangers and Freaks mission come up where someone needs a lift somewhere, then top left you will get a pop-up explaining that you can take these passengers to the Altruist Cult for a monetary reward.

The cult location is in the hills on the West side of the map, the icon should show up during these missions.

Simply drop the people off to the cultists and the achievement will pop

[MISSABLE] This trophy can be missed if you have not unlocked it by the time you get to the final mission. Make sure you choose "Option C" when offered the choice. Furthermore there are only a select few Random Events which provide you with an opportunity to deliver a victim so even if "Option C" is selected, this can still be easily missed.

Only Trevor can deliver people to the Altruist Cult as the Cult's location won't trigger with another character. A Random Event occurs when you are driving or walking around and your mini-map flashes white and a blue (representing an ally) or red (representing an enemy) blip appears on your map. For this trophy you are looking for any of the following, these are confirmed to work for this trophy as long as you are playing as Trevor:
  • Domestic
  • Hitch Lift (x4)
  • Drunk Driver (x2)
The Random Events have fixed locations, the easiest one to attempt this trophy is the "Hitch Lift" mission found at this location on the southern foot of Mount Chiliad:

If you cannot find the hitchhiker, simply drive in another direction for a short while and return. The event will spawn sooner or later if you keep doing this.

Once you pick up the hitchhiker he will ask you to drop him off somewhere. Instead of going to the target destination you must drive to the Altruist Cult marked by the icon on your map, this will be on the West side of Mount Chiliad and will only show up once the hitchhiker is in the car. Set your waypoint on this location and follow the purple route up to the camp. Wait for the gates to open and a scene will play, after which you will earn some money and this trophy.

During your playthrough, you will sometimes notice your mini-map quickly flashes white and then a flashing red/blue blip will appear. This indicated that there is a Random Event at that blip. These events range from catching a thief to gang shootouts and giving a stranger a lift back home. For this achievement, you will need to be playing as Trevor and wait until you encounter a hitchhiker or drunk pedestrian who needs a ride home.

After the story mission, "Friends Reunited," you will arrive in Los Santos and already be playing as Trevor. Around the block from Floyd's safehouse, you will encounter a drunk couple who needs a ride home. You should use this time to get this achievement.

When you pick up the stranger, you will receive a popup notification on the top left corner of your screen informing you that Trevor can bring them to the Altruist Camp in Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness (Northern Blaine County). A white “A” icon will appear on your map immediately. If you set a waypoint to the Altruist Camp, you can follow the new purple route instead of the yellow route that directs you to their house. Once you arrive at the Camp, Trevor escorts the couple to the front gate where the cannibals take them off your hands. At this point, you will unlock the achievement.

Be extremely careful, you will meet a random companion (a hitchhiker), you will be asked out of the kindness of your heart to give you a ride somewhere, you will have the choice of bringing you to your destination or taking you to altruists (a special icon will appear on the map), in the second option, the achievement is yours.

Not every hitchhiker can be taken to them. And at this moment you need to play Trevor.

For other characters, the Altruist icon does not appear on the map

By random travel companions, he meant random events. It is also not necessary to bring hitchhikers to them - other people whom you will help will also do for some tasks.

Altruists will become available after Trevor’s friend informs him about them via a message on his phone.

To complete the trophy, one of the four travel companions (random events) indicated on the map in the Social Club as Hitch Lift will do. We play as Trevor, select a “victim”, the treasured marker and the corresponding hint will appear on the map.

I don’t know about passengers - they don’t get into the car themselves... But NPC side quests are great.

In my case:

- A drunk couple asked to be driven to a motel.

- We take them to the cult

- Profit

Apparently it’s possible (I haven’t checked it myself):

- Steal a car with 2-3-4 passengers

- Do not stop, otherwise the passengers will get out of the car and run away

If you completed the game and did not get this trophy, then you do not need to replay it again. We just choose Trevor and drive a car around the mountains where the altruists are located. Sooner or later you will see a person on the road who will ask him for a ride, a route to his house will appear on your map, but you are looking for an altruists icon on the map, in the place where they live (triangle, if it does not appear, then look for a new travel companion ). Take your travel companion to the altruists and the trophy is yours.

It is not necessary to replay the game and read the e-mail.
The Altruist Mark appears for Trevor when you catch a hitchhiker. The hitchhikers are located near the mountains where the altruists are located.

There are two drunk guys near the cafe, one of them asks to take him home. Well, I took him to the altruists.
The main thing is not to rush through random events with passers-by at the very beginning of the game. Reach Trevor through the story and, while playing as him, go through random events.

The trophy can also be obtained after completing the story, for example by Trevor completing the random event “Funeral”. After saving the girl, take her to the Altruist camp.
The random event is located along the road north of Paleto Bay in the northern part of the map.

MISSABLE TROPHY!!! After the mission "Nervous Ron" you will receive a message on your phone where he will tell you about the cult of altruists, read it. I completed the game 100%, the message disappeared, I literally searched the entire Internet (including English), there are no answers on six-year-old forums. If you missed it: don't waste your time, just start a new game and play until this mission, complete it right away. I heard that the taxi does not work, it is carried out through random events with characters asking for a ride, all the information on all SS is on the Internet.
I forgot to add: if you do not read the message, the cult will not be on the map and, no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to hand over a person to them, they will ignore you.

Missable Trophy! And it’s not even about the mail, but about the fact that you can only take specific characters from random events, and there aren’t many of them. You cannot perform an event again if you have already completed it, but if you missed or failed it, you can return. I was lucky with the delivery of the bride, since it was the last event that I did not complete by the end of the game. It is also known that you can take drunken fellow travelers, a girl who can be hired into a gang, Ursula at the first meeting, a girl who was kidnapped in the north. A financier who needs to be taken to the airport, Ursula after the first meeting, random people cannot be taken in a taxi, the camp icon simply does not appear on the map.
