How to unlock the Be Prepared achievement in Grand Theft Auto V - Definitive Guide

Story related and will most likely be the first trophy you unlock. You will get this upon completion of any Heist setup mission (not the finale). Either host your own heist or join a random player, and complete the mission.

Each of the five heists available in the Heist Update include multiple “Heist Setup” missions that need to be completed prior to playing the “Heist Finale” mission. After being called by Lester, a green “H” icon inside your apartment on the world map will represent each of these Setup missions. The first Setup mission available is for the tutorial heist entitled, “The Fleeca Job.” 

The first of two Heist Setup missions available here involve the crew traveling to Fleeca Bank on the western highway, scoping out the security system, and then collecting a contact and some supplies from Lester’s warehouse before returning to the apartment. Once this Setup mission has been successfully completed, the achievement will unlock without issue.

Receive the trophy after completing the first prep mission of the "introductory" heist from Lester. After the update, when you enter the game, Lester will call you and offer you a job. Go to a safe house, undergo instructions, complete an easy task - the trophy is yours.


An important condition for starting all robberies: if you and a friend want to knock out a trophy on your own, then you will need an apartment. If you don’t have it, then you can either purchase it, or join someone else’s heist and go through the preparatory task there.
