How to unlock the Waste Management achievement in Grand Theft Auto V - Definitive Guide

DO NOT do this with Michael, as on my playthrough, the achievement was tracked at 96% after collecting all 30 barrels. I collected all of them again with Franklin, and this time, it did unlock. This glitch seems to be related to the submarine parts stranger mission tied to Michael's character.

There are 30 Nuclear Waste collectibles in GTA V. To collect them you need to buy the Sonar Collections Dock, which is available for $250,000 after completing the main story mission "The Merryweather Heist". The dock can be bought with any character and is found here:

The Nuclear Waste collectibles are bright yellow and glow brightly underwater. They are all found at the bottom of the ocean and they can only be picked up by driving into them in a submarine, which will always spawn at the dock once the property has been bought. To control the sub press to accelerate, to brake and reverse, then and to ascend and descend respectively.

Buying the property will also give you a new app called "Trackify" which starts automatically when entering the submarine. The app works like sonar, showing a red blip on your mini-map that you must follow until you reach the Waste. On extremely rare occasions one of the Nuclear Waste items may not be where it should be. If this occurs, switch characters then back again and it should be there.

See the following video for the locations of all the Nuclear Waste (the order in the video matches the order on the Trackify app) or use the collectible map provided in the 100% Completion Guide & Checklist.

Each piece of Nuclear Waste you pick up will net you $23,000 per barrel and a lump sum of $250,000 once all 30 are collected. The funds will be added to your weekly income from the property.

Before you can begin collecting the 30 Nuclear Waste collectibles, you will need to buy the Sonar Collections Dock - located in Blaine County - for $250,000. This property can be purchased by any of the three characters and will only be available after completing the "The Merryweather Heist" story mission.

In order to pick up the nuclear waste, which is scattered around the ocean floor, you need to use the yellow submarine that always spawns at the docks of this property. Buying the docks will also give you a new app called "Trackify," which will automatically turn on when entering the submarine as it provides a sonar radar that points to the nearest collectible. The order of collectibles in the video below matches with the order of the Trackify app. The app will not mark any of the waste on your in-game world map and sometimes, a piece of waste is extremely far away on a different part of the coast; so be sure to follow the video to a tee. The submarine is also VERY slow, so if you're trying to collect all the nuclear waste in one run, it will take just around two hours.

Fortunately, collecting all the nuclear waste will help uncover the ocean on your map if it is not already cleared up. In addition to this, you will earn $23,000 per piece of nuclear waste you find if you collect them with the character who purchased the Docks, and an additional $250,000 bonus after finding the last piece of waste.

We buy Franklin “Submarine Pier with Sonar” price $250,000. HERE , we take a submarine, and around the entire island of Los Santos we collect radioactive waste at the bottom. There are 30 of them in total, for each one found they give $23,000, plus for all collected, another $250,000. Patience will come in handy; you will have to swim for two hours.

Map of all waste:

But this scanner has one big drawback: it is completely impossible to determine the distance to the target, either 200m or 30km, so a lot of time was spent going around the shore of the islands, with a map it’s faster - put a mark and go ahead.

All characters can collect waste!
There is one small note. When you collect these barrels with a character who did not buy this pier, then in the corner they will not show you that you are receiving money. At the end, when you collect everything and go to the character who bought this pier, he will have an SMS report about the property in his phone with an account of $940,000.

You can buy Trevor and find all the waste using "Traxsify".
The program is in the lower right corner.

You don't need a search guide or map at all. Jump into the submarine, turn on the search application on your phone, 90 minutes and the trophy is yours.

Be ready for a long and tedious trophy, let's jump into the submersible and to the bottom! Turn on the waste search applications on your phone and go! It's tedious for a long time, in about three hours you can collect all 30 units. I spent about two and a half hours, and the trophy fell the first time (There were no glitches). Here’s where it somehow turns out funny: And everyone has the same game and the latest updates, everyone doesn’t get different atrophies (for example, THREE MAN ARMY didn’t drop out for me under any circumstances).
