Red Mist

Red Mist

Complete all Rampages.

How to unlock the Red Mist achievement in Grand Theft Auto V - Definitive Guide

Rampages can only be done by the one and only Trevor Philips aka everyone's favorite hipster... but anyway... there is 5 in total and are marked as an orange skull on the map. Below I have provided how to achieve gold on all 5 missions:

Rampage 1:
45 Kills
3 headshots
Destroy 2 vehicles

Rampage 2:
45 kills
6 headshots
Destroy 2 vehicles

Rampage 3:
50 kills
6 headshots
Destroy 2 vehicles

Rampage 4:
45 kills
6 headshots
Destroy 2 tanks

Rampage 5:
30 kills
10 headshots
Destroy 2 vehicles

Note from old solution on Xbox One below:
TwiK999 would like to add that "the first rampage doesn't show up as a skull. It shows as a strangers and freaks mission. Its one by the Alamo Sea."

There are total 5 of these (marked on the map as orange skulls). You need to play as Trevor to start them, you don't need to get gold medal, just finish rampages with enough kills.

Rampages are a form of Strangers and Freaks missions that are only available when playing as Trevor. Like all Strangers and Freaks missions, the first Rampage will appear as an orange question mark on your map. After that, their icon is an Orange Skull but they will not appear on the map until the mission "Friends Reunited" is completed. The goal of these missions is to defeat the required number of enemies in the time allotted. You do not incur a Wanted Level during the challenges which is the fun part.

Overall, there are five different Rampages to complete. The first Rampage will be available after completing the “Trevor Philips Industries” story mission. Below, you can check out where each Rampage is located.

  • Rampage 1 – Sandy Shores on Marina Drive.
  • Rampage 2 – Corner of Macdonald Street and Jamestown Street in Rancho, Los Santos.
  • Rampage 3 – In an alley on Forum Drive in Chamberlin Hills, Los Santos.
  • Rampage 4 – Fort Zancudo Approach in Great Chaperral.
  • Rampage 5 – Mirror Park, Los Santos.

Upon completing all five rampages, the achievement will unlock.

[MISSABLE] This trophy can be missed if you have not unlocked it by the time you get to the final mission. Make sure you choose "Option C" when offered the choice, after which this trophy is no longer missable.

Rampages are Strangers & Freaks missions that can only be done as Trevor and will become available after beating the story mission "Trevor Philips Industries". There are 5 Rampages and in them you need to kill a certain amount of enemies within a time limit. The first Rampage will be shown by the icon in the Grand Senora Desert. Here is a screenshot of its location:

After finishing the first Rampage, the next one will show up as a skull symbol on your world map. Rampages that you have already completed will have a green tick next to the skull, which looks like this icon: . You always need to complete a new Rampage in order to unlock the next one. The trophy will unlock after beating all 5 Rampage events.

You have infinite ammo for the given weapons along with 25 grenades. It'll greatly help you to have the "Traditional GTA" aiming mode on to as with the large groups of enemies, the auto-aim and ability to snap to different targets with will prove invaluable. You should also make liberal use of Trevor's special "berserk" ability by pressing and simultaneously as it fills up very quickly during Rampages. The game is confusing as the orange blur effect on the screen makes it seem like the ability is permanently activated, but this is not the case as you must activate it yourself.

The 5 Rampages are unlocked in the following order:

Rampage #1

Location: Sandy Shores
Requirement: Neutralize 25 Rednecks in 2 minutes using grenades and the AK47.

Rampage #2

Location: Rancho
Requirement: Neutralize 30 Gang Members in 2 minutes using grenades and the SMG.

Rampage #3

Location: Chamberlain Hills
Requirement: Neutralize 30 Gang Members in 2 minutes using grenades and the AK47.

Rampage #4

Location: Great Chaparral
Requirement: Neutralize 35 Attacking Soldiers in 3 minutes using the grenade launcher and the AK47.

Rampage #5

Location: Mirror Park
Requirement: Neutralize 20 Killer Hipsters in 2 minutes using grenades and the sawn-off shotgun.

After the next story mission, you will have Trevor participate in massacres. Subsequent ones open after completing the previous ones. After you have completed all 5 and received the trophy, the massacres will appear on the map and you can replay them.

No, you don't need gold. My trophy dropped without gold at each massacre. In general, there was no gold, only silver.
Played without internet.

PS Although this could be a bug, I don't know

To open the "Slaughterhouses", you need to, playing as Trevor, stumble upon a couple of hillbillies in Sandy Shores.

Initially it goes like “weirdos and strangers”, when approaching the first massacre begins.

Further, subsequent ones will be marked on the map with skulls
