Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition

This is a modification or clarification of the other solution where all you have to do is the Cone Crazy mission to get this achievement. You have to start a new game (may be possible to get this during a regular playthrough but that is unknown).

After you create your first save after In The Beginning mission, go to the Cone Crazy mission. You have to do the Cone Crazy mission 19 times to get this achievement.

1. First hit last checkpoint at 0 seconds
2. Second hit last checkpoint at 0 seconds
3. Third hit last checkpoint at 0 seconds
4. Fourth hit last checkpoint at 0 seconds
5. Fifth hit last checkpoint at 0 seconds
6. Sixth hit last checkpoint at 0 seconds
7. Seventh hit last checkpoint at 0 seconds
(Hit last checkpoint a total of 7 times at 0 seconds like in other solution)

8. Eighth hit last checkpoint at 1 second
9. Ninth hit last checkpoint at 2 seconds
10. Tenth hit last checkpoint at 3 seconds
11. Eleventh hit last checkpoint at 4 seconds
12. Twelfth hit last checkpoint at 5 seconds
13. Thirteenth hit last checkpoint at 6 seconds
14. Fourteenth hit last checkpoint at 7 seconds
15. Fifteenth hit last checkpoint at 8 seconds
16. Sixteenth hit last checkpoint at 9 seconds

(This is the point other solutions tell you to stop because you should have over 10 million but we need to do it 3 more rounds where you keep improving your time with each round)

17. Seventeenth hit last checkpoint at 10 seconds
18. Eighteenth hit last checkpoint at 11 seconds
19. Nineteenth hit last checkpoint at 12 seconds

You should get the achievement at this point. I take no credit for this solution. Below is a video.

Edit: User Darkness727420 has pointed out to me that I have made it unclear how the point system works. Here is a link that explains it. Basically if you do the "Cone Crazy" exploit detailed below, you will definitely get the achievement along the way to beating it and getting 100% in game.

This achievement has now been patched to unlock at a 100,000 criminal rating instead of 1,000,000. This rating is at the top of your stats screen.
For anyone thinking about boosting out accuracy or doing two playthroughs, I really don't think that's necessary, as long as you are comfortable with doing the "Cone Crazy" exploit. I used the video by Gtamen in the link below.

To clarify a couple things about the process and where I was in the game :
*I played the game normally going for 100%. I was at 62%, at the point where you can buy properties, and decided to do this.
*My criminal rating was around 40,000, I had already done several side missions.
* The second my money maxed, the achievement popped, with my criminal rating being 118914.
*I also included a link that explains how to time your runs on "Cone Crazy" so that you don't screw yourself.

Edit: user mattdanky said he got the achievement by doing the "Brown Thunder" mission to level 162, by activating mission next to airport runway. "Brown Thunder" is the helicopter equivalent of pVigilante using the Hunter chopper that is unlocked when you get all 100 packages. It places the chopper in the Fort Baxter Airbase, north of the airport. It spawns somewhere else as well after you have 100 packages AND finish the story. If you go to Fort Baxter, it helps to have the Cop uniform that you get from the mission otherwise the soldiers will shoot you.

*Edit comment from @PirateKing have to endorse the Brown Thunder method. I beat the game with a criminal rating just shy of 22000. It took me a few attempts but when I finally got it together the achievement popped on level 159. A few tips I picked up along the way: The first 12 Levels are the hardest as the spawns are more random around the map, so if you fail a few time early, don’t give up. In level 12 and beyond, most of the spawns will be along the main road by the ocean (if you start from the base). The random spawns elsewhere will often be somewhere that gets them killed immediately and the stranglers will often get killed by the tanks on the road once you’re at wanted level 6. Stay high until your line up with the target on the road and ready to make a bombing run. That way the only thing that can take you out are annoying helicopters. Unless you are sure the helicopter is going to miss you, get away and line up you attack somewhere else. Time will not be and issue, so take your time to make sure your in good shape before attempting to take out an enemy. Hope this helps someone get the achievement a little easier.

I was at 22,000ish criminal rating when I decided to do my vigilante missions in the hunter (attack helicopter). I remember doing this and hitting vigilante mission 100+ on the PS2 back in the day. I spent about an 90 minutes doing this all the way up to vigilante level 160. You earn about 1.7 million per level at this point and if you learn where the cars spawn each level; you can destroy the next wave as they’re spawning. I think I had around 75 million dollars when my achievement popped for godfather. It’s weird though. I checked my stats at 20 mil then again at 50 mil and the rating was going up but only by a few thousand. Then it skyrocketed from a 60,000 criminal rating to 1,000,000 after an additional 10 million dollars. So it can be boring but it’s an extremely easy and fast method to earn a shitload of cash and the highest criminal rating.

I got 100% completion but only had $1,300,000 and had an “Executioner” criminal rating. I went the long route. I had the “Hyman Condo” at the north end of the second island. This property has a helipad on top, I put the helicopter in the large garage, after a hard reset another helicopter spawned on top so I put both of them in the garage and blew them up with the rocket launcher. 60 points each time you destroy both of them, let the garage door close, rinse and repeat. Once I got to “Don” level I grabbed myself a fire truck, went over to Starfish Island and did the Versetti Manison trick where you turn the firefighter missions on, drive the truck into the mansion and the fires magically get extinguished and you get paid. I went up to Level 80 and now had $10,000,000. I went back to “Hyman Condo” and kept blowing up helicopters until I was at “Godfather” level. It took quite a while but I kept messing up the “Cone Crazy” method so I needed an alternative.
