How to unlock the Gem Collector achievement in GRAVITY RUSH 2 - Definitive Guide

Your statistics page has to list that you have accumulated 60,000 gems. After a couple of google and youtube searches, there are a few common ways to get that many gems.

In the following order in fastest ways to get gems:

1. All the random gems floating around the world map. The easy to get ones are worth 1 typically, but the obnoxious ones underneath islands and on side of buildings, etc, are worth 10 to 50. You can get thousands of gems in a matter of minutes, but these sources are limited. Once you collect them, they don't respawn. You can make this even less painful by equipping a bunch of Gem Attract talisman.

2. The absolute best way to get gems once you have exhausted options 1 and 3 is to do Episode 18: Two Angels either as you progress through the story or loading it up from your house. Based on this description, it might be a little confusing, so the easiest way to prevent yourself from having to redo a decent chunk of Episode 18 is as soon as you get locked into Lunar Style, meaning, you cannot switch powers or Gravity Shift, when the game shows you the cut scene of the Tablet challenge starting, save your game on a different slot. Continue on until just right before you run into the boss battle for the section but don't activate it. You should have collected about 800 gems, give or take. Save your game, NOT on the side save, but on your main save or whatever save you intend on reloading and continuing from. When you save the game, the game will start you at the Tablet as your checkpoint with the gems you have accumulated previously. Repeat this as often as you need to until you're done. While the run through is only worth about 800 gems, it takes less than 2 minutes to do, including saving and reloading.

The side save is for confirmation purposes. So if you didn't know where the cutoff was, simply reload it and once you get the idea of where to stop, you wouldn't need this side save anymore. I recommended it just in case the instructions weren't clear.

3. Getting 1st Place in Challenges (Required for Trophy anyways)

4. Mining. This is absolutely the worst possible way to get Gems. You can spend hours walking around and getting less than 1000 Gems in a run.

Unless you have some weird need to get this done before finishing the main story, the best way to clean this one off is to do #3, #1 and cleanup with #2.

If you're going for Platinum, #3 is a must anyways, so the most efficient way is to wait until you get the Gold Medalist Trophy. The ordering might be a bit weird, but I found that flying around grabbing gems was the fastest way, but it was also the most annoying. You can simply just do #3 and then #2.
