How to unlock the Rift Hunter achievement in GRAVITY RUSH 2 - Definitive Guide

As you progress through GR2's story, you'll eventually be able to visiting mining areas via circular icon which is yellow and has three scythes with a circle in the middle. You can revisit mining areas to attempt to earn ore. Occasionally, you'll notice that you'll receive a notification titled "Strange Gravitational Phenomena" and it directs you to one of the mining sites. When you visit the site, you'll see an objective marker and must encounter and fight a large nevi which looks a bit like an octopus. It has several weak spots to destroy, which then reveal a larger one on it's back.

The trick to this fight is utilizing your Stasis field. By pressing cn_O you can pick up objects and throw them at the nevi's weak points. I tried the old "float and kick" approach and got stuck on one of these badboys for a good hour, but once I started using stasis field, it never could kill me. It's worth noting that it uses very few attacks: it throws it's scythe at you, which can be dodged (and it's crumpled parts can be picked up with stasis field too), a sucking ability which will hit you with debris and general swipes if you approach it. Most areas have plenty to throw, though in "Toflug Reef" there's scant items to chuck. Your best bet is to utilize the broken scythe parts and throw em' straight back. When you beat it, you earn a special talisman unique to each site.

To earn this trophy, you must defeat five of these Nevi in five different sites. This distinction is important, you CANNOT return to the same site and kill the nevi again. This means that you will need to continue progressing the story, unlocking the mining sites and waiting for the notification. I advise going straight to the site when you receive one as it can be missed and you'll be sitting on your hands waiting. I earned this trophy after killing the giant nevi which appeared in Toflug Reef, the fifth site I unlocked.

Just wanted to write a solution with the same tactic just throwing sh*t at the Nevi with the stasis field and scythe debris. But you got me covered. clap

You need to defeat the Nevi throwing a stone scythe in each of the 5 mines and get a talisman from him as confirmation. The score does not count if you defeated him twice in the same location.

If a storm appears at the desired mine, and not a boss, then don’t be sad)) log into the game in a few more hours and the storm will change to a boss. And no matter how much I changed time zones, it didn’t help, I just wasted my time. Then I noticed that at another mine the event changed itself without any manipulation, so I decided to wait a few hours and voila the storm changed to the boss)

I went through extra first. missions, then the plot, missed the first boss. While I was passing through, messages appeared periodically about the appearance of bosses, I immediately closed them, and as a result, by the beginning of the 16th story mission, this trophy dropped! No problem....

Even if you have finished the game, log into it from time to time, because... Depending on the days and time, the same gravitational phenomena appear.
Changing the game zones in the date and time settings of the console can also help you if the desired mine has 4-5 stars burning within one actual day from -11 GMT to +13GMT
Changing dates and times manually, unfortunately, does not lead to the desired effect.

For a long time I could not understand how to perform this achievement; the tips above do not fully describe everything.
In order for bosses to start spawning in the mines, you need to complete 2 side missions “Raise Anchors” (in the second half of the game, after returning to Hexville. For the gravitational phenomenon to appear, you need 5 stars to accumulate in the mine. Stars are added if you rewind the time zone by 4-6 hours (if you rewind, the stars will decrease.
A situation may also arise when the stars are collected, but not a phenomenon appears, but a storm. Then the way out of the situation is the following - rewind time 4-6 hours ago, then forward again and enter the game - repeat until victory.
Killing bosses is simple, dodge in time and shoot debris using the stasis field.
