How to unlock the Use it Wisely achievement in Greed Corp - Definitive Guide

When you conquer an enemy, a pop-up will appear above your name at the lower left listing the amount of Credits, Carriers, and Territories you received from that conquer.

This achievement can only be obtained in the custom gametype, against skilled or expert opponents. The CPU you conquer also has to have some credits on hand as well as a carrier.

The territory part of this can be tricky. If you take a carrier over and land on a CPU's last territory, this will not count as territory gained for you (the pop-up will list a 0 under territory).

What worked for me was attacking a CPU that had an island of three spaces - two had walkers on it, and the third was empty. In the same turn I used two carriers and took over both of his territories with walkers on them. When this killed him, I received his credits, his carrier, and most importantly his last unoccupied territory. The achievement popped at that point.

You may find this easier to achieve in a 4 player match as the CPUs will fight each other and open up possibilities for a attack like the one I made, however this is not strictly necessary.

Play a 4 player game on Mines of Ad Valorem. Set the computer to Expert and follow exactly what the computer does and build harvesters in the same place as it. After the computer gets rid of everything but 4 of its own squares It will Start to amass carriers. The computer usually only keeps units on 3/4 of its squares so you can easily cannon one square off and capture the remaining two squares. If your lucky, the previous computer may send a harvester onto one of the squares eliminating the need for the cannon.

Try to have 2 flyers as soon as possible. Plant the harvesters as soon as possible and try to spend less on units.

Thanks, this was actually easier on expert, because the AI were smart enough to leave me alone when I had carriers.

This is a similar guide to above, credit to XSpantX, but I've attached a video to see how it's exactly done.

Set up a match against 3 expert players on Mines of Ad Valorem. If you can start in 4th place, that's all the better.

The video below isn't mine, credit to CelebLP. It shows the last campaign level on the PC version and the voice over is in German but none of this matters - you can just watch the vid and the custom match will progress in the same way.

When you finish off the first enemy (4:33 in the video), the achievement will unlock. Note that you and the correct enemy may be in different positions on the board, so use your discretion when attacking.

You do not need to finish the match.

This video method works perfectly! Only thing to add is that you cannot get this achievement in campaign for some reason, you have to play the same map/setup in a custom match. Also, if you follow this video you will probably end up killing off each enemy one by one for the other achievement.

(I didn't realize that custom matches have slightly different rules when I attempted it, so keep that in mind. In campaign, an enemy is eliminated if you kill his troops and take any and all armories he owns - whatever else doesn't matter. In custom, any building keeps him alive regardless of how little sense it makes. So you might need a few more cannon shells and carriers than you do in the video.)

Whilst this can be done against one opponent, I suggest you select three.

At the bottom of the screen during a match, you can see whether your opponents have any gold or carriers. If they have a carrier, you will see a propeller above their name. Build a cannon and shoot an enemy tile which has enemies on it (no buildings). The idea is to shoot it down to level one. The enemy units will usually move from the tile, as they do not want to go down with it. Once you have an enemy tile down to level one and vacant, attack their other tiles with walkers. If you try a harvester attack, make sure the level one tile is not connected to the tile the harvester is on.

When you eliminate the opponent by capturing/destroying all of their buildings and units, you will see a pop-up above their name. It will show what you received from them. You need to see at least a "1" next to every item to be awarded the achievement.
